  • Hi @kitrus,
Could you please try the following suggestion:
    1. copy the msi and paste it to a different drive. e.g Local Disk (D:) then try to install it again.
    2. if the above suggestion doesn’t work, please try to install it in a different installation folder. Also, make sure not to put any spaces between the folder name.
please refer to the attached screenshot

    Hi @kitrus,
Unfortunately, the file exceeds the allowed size.
Could you maybe try to split the contents of the diagnostics into 2 folders and just upload 2 zipped folders?
Or maybe upload the zip file in the dropbox or other file hosting services and just send us the download link.

    Hi @jon,
is it necessary for your videowall to be 4444×1080?
I was able to make this work on my side by using the following workaround:
    – combine your tablet and phone’s width and assign it to the videowall’s width (1980+720 = 2700)
    – your video wall (wall 0) should now be 2700×1080
    – check your videowall position. you tablet and phone should now fit your videowall

today i created a videowall for my tablet and phone. but i can’t find resolution for my tablet, phone and videowall to make the top of the screen and taskbar in the screen on both my phone and tablet. the tablet is horizontal and my phone is upside down and vertical (because the cable would otherwise be in the way of the cable for my tablet and i wouldn’t be able to place my phone comfortably). i set the videowall to 4444×1080; my tablet to 1980×1080; my phone to 720×1080 moved to x1980 y0. i can’t find a resolution mix that allows me to fit my desktop in both of my screens . Would someone be able to help me?

    Hi @averageuser, @inertia,

h264 Hardware Encoding will definitely be released rather sooner than later. Internally we have it already working on Windows Viewer. Why isn’t it prioritized higher? It only benefits users with high end graphics adapters and requirements. For the majority of users with average GPUs and scenarios there is no performance gain compared to our current MJPEG software encoding.
Also we still have to design which encoding type (hardware/software) should be dafault on which kind of machines and how to present different options to the user.

    royuze,

I don’t have anything to add to this. Problem still gone & I’m now using v2.1.16.

    Hi @amanosorana4,
    1. “free for non-commercial use only” and “Viewer licensed for private non-commercial use only” indicate that you are using a non-commercial/free version of spacedesk Android viewer. if you do not wish to see such messages, you will have to purchase a business license.
    2. “devices beyond the second one are not displayed” have you tried rebooting the 3rd Android device? Are you connecting it via USB? Could you maybe try checking if USB debugging mode is enabled on your device? if so, please disable it.

I am a student from Japan, and I apologize for my limited English skills.

When attempting to connect multiple devices in a Windows 10 environment, a message stating “free for non-commercial use only” appears, and devices beyond the second one are not displayed. The configuration environment is as follows:

    Processor: i7-13700F
    Graphics Card: 4070ti
Pen Tablets: Wacom One, HUION 13, XP-PEN Artist 12 Gen2
The devices I am trying to connect are as follows:

    iPhone SE Gen2
    AQUOS sense3
    AQUOS SERIE mini SHV38
While I can successfully connect the iPhone, when attempting to connect the AQUOS devices, warnings appear on both devices as well as on the PC.

Is it not possible to connect Android devices? All operating systems are up to date, and the apps were downloaded from the store linked on your website just a while ago. Thank you very much for your assistance.

    Hi @serruti,
Remote keyboard input works in certain conditions:
    1. If the connection is via USB cable, it should always work (LICENSED or FREE viewer app).
    2. If the connection is via WiFi (Local Area Network), it will ONLY work with LICENSED Viewer app and with “Password Protection and Encryption” enabled in spacedesk Driver Console. This means you will have to purchase a business license for it to work.

This would be good for the windows client if you can use HW accelerated x265 or x265 encoding on Windows PC.

    Hi Christian.
After many, many hours of googling and trying fixes, I have temporarily solved the problem. The problem lies in my registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\msiserver) where if you change the key “start” from 3 to 2′ install will work. But, if I reboot the machine I then have to change it back to 3 for installs to work.. Mystified by this.
Anyway, thanks for your help and maybe this can help someone else if they encounter the same problem.
    cheers Barry

    Hi @tugalsan,

    1. The expiry info in the spacedesk Driver Console is only for the users with FREE VIEWER app.
With LICENSED VIEWER app, you don’t have to reinstall the driver on or before Dec. 31, 2024.

    Additional Info:
When the driver expires on Dec. 31, 2024, the free viewer will show a black and white screen display.
But if you connect with a licensed viewer app, it will continue to work as before with colored screen display.

    2. Please refer to the UNINSTALL ON WINDOWS PRIMARY MACHINE chapter in the spacedesk documentation for the proper way to uninstall spacedesk – https://manual.spacedesk.net/UNINSTALLONWINDOWSPRIMARYMACHINE.html

[On the tablet], when connected to laptop, i click the menu button, then “licensing”, it shows Business Licence …, Licenced to Current Google Play Account.
    Thx: So it is ok.

[On Windows 11 Pc Laptop] after one day (means, may be a simple restart), when i connect to tablet, spacedesk_Driver_for_Primary_Machine_(Server) titled dialog appered. It says “Licenced to: Commercial and Non-Commercial”, Connections: 1
    Thx: So it is ok.

[On Windows 11 Pc Laptop] when i deliberately open Spacedesk_driver_console on the right bottom side, it says “Version 2.1.15 (Expiry of free version: Dec 31,2024)
Question: So that means I have to re-download and re-install driver every year, even if it is paid?

[On Windows 11 Pc Server] the software is not shown on the add/remove programs list. But the driver looked like installed on Device Manager.
Question: What should i do in that situation to remove. Would uninstalling the driver will be enough?

I have been an avid user of Spacedesk for maybe 10 years now for a flight sim, but today I wanted to connect another android tablet to join my 2 other tablets on the system. It appears that Spacedesk is not able to handle more than 2 items, as trying to connect the 3rd item just gets error message of ” something like the internet connection is not able to connect,or words to that effect” I am on a very fast Fibre connection and only 2 other computers on the wi-fi connection. ? is am I able to connect 3 android tablets to the free version or would I get better performance paying for the paid version ?

    #26304

    Hi
    1. The “free” you are seeing is for the spacedesk Driver which has an expiry date. you just have to re-download it again when it expires.

You can verify your Android viewer license by going connecting your Android viewer to the spacedesk Driver -> open spacedesk Console -> Connection -> click the name of your device -> check Client information in the right side of the console -> check the License Type.
License type should show “Commercial” when your Android viewer has business license.

    2. is the old windows machine still running?
maybe you did not successfully uninstall the spacedesk Driver on your old windows machine..?
have you tried turning shutting it down?
is it still showing in your Android viewer?

    #26302

    Hi @sky2orion,

the black and grey squares are more of a windows/graphics adapter issue..
this report from a user in microsoft has the same issue as you, maybe you could try the suggested fix from this link: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/window-10-display-wih-black-and-white-squares/90d57ead-1d3c-482b-87b8-5cba04aa8e96

    Hey what up everyone,

I had a small project Idea for portable mini desktop I built out of a MINI PC with 8g128g 2.0ghz Windows 11 pro with a quad-display of 8in tablets that are all USBC interfaced. This program driver is badass as it can support up to 16 different connections, Im going with a wired USB style with custom-tailored USBC chords so there’s not a spaghetti bowl on my desk, and I prefer the reliability of wired setup with no lag whatsoever.

It seems to run good for a little while then gets glitchy with back and grey squares every now and then and Im trying to figure out what the De-bug download is that’s grey-out on the driver consol. Is there a better form or cable I should be using? a different program I should be using, or should I buy another graphics program?? Im new AF to the computer building game. It does have 2 HDMI outputs that I could split bt I just spent 70fucin dollars on these USBC cables….

    Id appreciate your feedback,
    -James

Hello I like your product. I always wanted to use it, for connecting a Tablet to Windows 11. Hence I bought one galaxy tablet today.

    1) I installed spacedesk_viewer on tablet. Why on windows side the program still shows (free)?

    2) On the tablet, on spacedesk_viewer, On the list named as Connect_to_Primary_Machine_(Server), there is an old windows machine shown. I have already uninstalled it. How can i remove it from the list. It is an important question for me, because the license says only for one pair of connection. I do not want to upgrade.

    Hi @davide78,
Yes, it is possible. just make sure that you have spacedesk driver installed in your miniPC
    the steps are:
-set up an external monitor first so that you can install spacedesk driver
    -install spacedesk Driver
-connect your Android viewer either via usb or wifi
-change your display mode by using the shortcut key (windows key + P) then choose “second screen only”
-Go to Windows settings -> system -> display then choose the spacedesk display (Usually #2)
-select “Multiple Display” then choose “make this my main display”
-Windows remembers the last setting as it saves the display configuration in its graphics database. this way, you can now remove your external monitor and your Android device will now be your main monitor every time you connect to your miniPC

I tryed spacedesk for My old Gen1 iPad mini. With older version spacedesk that conpatible with it.
Local Area Network connection works, but USB Cable connection seems don’t work(no connection dialog will appear).
With Newer iPad mini(Gen4, iOS14) and recent spacedesk(v1.0.69) it works. So I wonder I can make it works or spacedesk USB connection has no backwards-combatibility (or any other problem(like how cable works in ye olde iPad, any)).

    spacedesk version: iOS app v1.0.44
    iOS version: 9.3.5
    iPad mini model: MD531J/A (Gen1)

    PC spacedesk version: 2.1.15

anyway, thankful for provide such a great software.

I previously had spacedesk installed prior to a new windows11 re-install. Now, I receive a “Install server not responding” error and cannot get any further than this screen. This happens on both 32 & 64 install versions.. I have tried numerous windows fixes & scans but nothing seems to help.
I have done complete un-install through Revo uninstaller and also Registrar registry remover to remove any old traces of the previous installs. My system is Windows 11 64bit, 32gig ram.
    Any help will be appreciated.

    I found a great solution.

    1) Enable the taskbar on all monitors.
    2) Create shortcuts for each screen mode.
    Main Display Only: C:\Windows\System32\DisplaySwitch.exe /internal
    Second Display Only: C:\Windows\System32\DisplaySwitch.exe /external
    Main & Second: C:\Windows\System32\DisplaySwitch.exe /extend
    Both Same: C:\Windows\System32\DisplaySwitch.exe /clone
    4) Change the icons for each screen mode (use the icons from the DisplaySwitch.exe itself)
    5) Pin them to the taskbar.

“It seems that the Space Desk application is preventing me from making changes to the screen orientation and resolution of the connected screen”

This is the intended behavior when your Resolution Setting is set to only one of the following:
    – Use native android device resolution
    – Use custom Resolution

If you want to change the resolution in the windows Display Settings
    Please follow the steps below:
    1. Go to Android viewer settings
    2. Under Resolutions Setting
    3. “CHECK BOTH”:
    – “Use native android device resolution ”
    – “Use custom resolution”

My computer is connected to an audio interface, using an ASIO driver, and whenever I connect to the computer via SpaceDesk Viewer, I start to hear clicks, pops and glitches in the audio output of the USB interface.
If I disconnect from the Viewer, the clicks stop immediately.
Using the DPC Latency Checker, i see my latency go from 500uS to 1000uS. So, Is there any configuration? I can do in the Space Desk Driver that will resolve this?
I think it could be several things, the refresh rate.
For Sure, My Windows 11 is well optimized, even if I change the ASIO to 32, 64, 128, 256, the problem persists.
I’ve already done several optimizations of drives, services, cpu park, cpu sleep, and nothing works.
    Any Ideias?

    Hi,
I loved using spacedesk for the past week but today out of nowhere, the pressure sensitivity stopped working.

IIRC there was a pen icon in the taskbar when I connected the tablet and now it’s missing.

    Any idea what went wrong?

    for the stretched issue:
I am not using the duplicate mode. I’m using the extending mode.
The main screen resolution is 1920×1080, the tablet using 3048×1904, and tablet’s native resolution is 3048×2032. The display was stretched in ANY resolutions whether using or not using the custom resolutions.

    #26132

    Hi @yak991224,
    for the stretched issue:
Could you tell us what is your main display’s resolution?
it seems like you are using duplicate mode,
in the spacedesk app settings, you can set up a custom resolution for desktop duplication. you can try experimenting with what resolution you prefer, just make sure that it has the same aspect ratio as your main display resolution.

Unfortunately, I have exactly the same problem. The second screen is also a touch notebook with a built-in orientation sensor. I am using the Windows store viewer on Windows10.

I played around with the settings for 2 days and found a workaround that worked for me.

The problem is indeed that the viewer thinks it is in portrait mode. So, the workaround was to set the client display of the second notebook to portrait mode, then start the Spacedesk Viewer connection, and then set the display settings back to landscape mode.

I hope this helps some of you here in search of a solution.

The problem could simply be solved with a “Set orientation” function in the viewer app.

Hi Nicole. Thanks for the quick response!
I will invest in a 2.5g usb c interface for both ends rather then a gigabit interface.

Understandable about 60fps and thats it for now.. Works great however with my laptop and surface pro.. Can barely find the difference and runs like a charm.. Absolute respect to the developers making the software. I would buy a perpetual license to this software the moment it’s possible.

Just for resource purposes… is hardware encoding high on the list of todo? It would really make this product the ultimate tool for me and I’d be super happy to endorse it!
