Hi, I have the same problem, and this problem has been bothering me for a while, first of all this problem affects all Logitech mice connected wirelessly, when the system starts, this problem usually does not occur (of course I may be alone), if the wireless mouse driver is disabled or the mouse’s wireless adapter is unplugged when the system is running and spacedesk is working, then the above problem will occur, but at this time the Logitech mouse connected by wired will not receive the effect, in Logitech On the Lightspeed Receiver events page, we can get the following error reports:

The device USBVID_046D&PID_C5476&3af0f9ce&0&14 has a problem booting.
    Driver name: oem55.inf
    Class GUID: {88bae032-5a81-49f0-bc3d-a4ff138216d6}
    Service: USBCCGP
    Low-level filterer: spacedeskDriverAndroidControl vhf l
    High-level screening procedure:
    Question: 0x0
    Issue Status: 0xC00000E5

Of course, if you want to reproduce the problem, it’s very simple, the log file is in the attachment I uploaded, when the system is working fine and making sure that the spacedesk driver is running, at this point disconnect the wireless adapter of the Logitech mouse, and then plug it back in, the problem can be perfectly reproduced, then I connect the mouse with a wire, and turn off the log collection, and the mouse will not have a problem.

Because of the language problem, here I can only use Bing Translator for problem feedback, if there are any questions, you can ask further questions, and finally please trouble to solve this problem, please.

I tried this method but the connection is still lost within 1-2 minutes

    Hi @ksenit
This is an expected behavior for Android viewer app, but a workaround can be done by setting the ‘Connection loss delay’ in the spacedesk Console to -1. This will not unplug your secondary machine and will resume its connection when the app becomes active again.

    Hi @ricardo,
Could you please answer the following quetions:
-What viewer are you using? (Windows 10 viewer/windows 7 viewer)?
-What is the secondary and primary machine in your set up? (e.g the new laptop is used as secondary/client)
-Could you please try dragging a window (e.g chrome or file explorer) from the primary to secondary machine?

When I minimize Spacedesk, after 1-2 minutes the connection is lost. The same thing happens when I lock the second device.
I use Samsung Galaxy Tab S 9 Fe Plus as a secondary device. I turned off battery optimization for the application

Maybe I missed something in the setup?

Ahh okey. I didn’t assume you can launch two are more clients on that secondary machine.

So now I can attach my 2 monitors from my secondary PC and I am seeing total of 5 monitors on my main PC which is exactly what I wanted.

Now having that sorted I am still a bit confused as to how Spacedesk determins which monitor to associate with which client.

What I am using that 5 setup is for Microsoft Flight Simulator. 3 monitors of PC1 makes my main view (more or less “through the windshield view”). And that attached 2 monitors are located underneath that main 3 and serves as “dashboard” (all gauges etc)

And my first scenario was I put the window of firstly opened spacedesk client on PC2’s monitor #1.
Then I put the widow of second opened spacedesk client on PC2’s monitor #2.

Then I connected that first client (it was assigned as monitor Id4 to my PC1)
Then I connected that second client (it was assigned as monitor Id5 to my PC1)
And then I setup additional MSFS windows and put then in apropriate monitors.

And then second scenario when I simply run two clients that I put on second monitor of PC2 and from there I started to connect to the server.
And what happened it just connect thouse monitors in revers order and when I run Microsoft Flight Simulator the MSFS window previously displayed on monitor Id4 went to Id5 and vice versa with second monitor.

So is any way of like connecting thouse clients in such a way that always they will be connected as I expected or it is needed to always pay extra attension when connecting clients and do it always in given order ?

I’m having exactly the same problem. I use WIndows 11. and I use my laptop as a second screen.
The laptop’s sound has this same type of audio distortion. I tested it on an Android tablet and the sound is perfect. but not in the windows version.. I have the most recent versions of spacedesk installed on my PC and my laptop

    The use-case is as follows.
    1. I have my main PC1 computer with 3 monitors (3 x 27′)
    2. I have my second PC2 computer with 2 monitors (2 x 15,6′ touchscreens)

On PC1 I have installed Spacedesk server.
On PC2 I have installed Spacedesk client.

I want to connect both PC2\s monitors to my main PC1 machinne in such a way that on PC1 I would be able to see 5 monitors.

Right now I don’t see such a possibility as it seems that only one monitor from secondary PC (PC2) can be attached through Spacedesk.

Maybe I am missing something ?

So is my use-case possible with Spacedesk?

Can confirm it happens in version 2.1.16 too.

If my laptop goes to sleep while a Spacedesk screen is active, upon resuming, a loop of “Connection lost” / re-established notifications are fired constantly, grinding the entire system to a crawl. The only way to stop the notifications is to use Task Manager to kill spacedeskServiceTray.exe.

The actual display itself seems to be fine; the client screen works normally and it doesn’t seem like it’s disconnecting.

Occurs on version 2.1.13. I just noticed there’s an update available; I’ll install and see if that helps.

I have a wired connection with 40gbps usbc chords, going to 3 tablets and the lag time is 4 seconds long……the WIFI connection is faster but still laggy, and nobody like lag, so I used wired for the reliability. The PC has 8g 128 g interface and is made for muiti monitor setups. Could it be the tablets not being powerful enough to produce the desktop PC????? The wireless connection is way faster but I dont want any LAG…my other setup works perfectly.

    PLEASE HELP

    THANKS

Thanks everybody, it does work like that!

    But I would suggest to…
    1. check whether somebody attempts to use this feature with a business license. And if they do, tell them in the notification that they have to enable password protection.
    2. question whether you’re really providing security here. Because an attacker who manages to get a spacedesk connection can simply use the software keyboard.

sorry for seeing your replies just now. i’ve done what you guys said but i still can’t rotate the phone screen. if i enable “rotate primary machine’s screen by client rotation” on the phone, it show the screen with black bars on the side and the image is stretched. if i rotate the screen from the pc client by -180° the image on the phone will show up distorted but the client reports it as being correctly portrait.

Thank you Christian – as always your support is outstanding. It was indeed a scaling issue. The challenge I now have is I use an ultra-wide with relatively low pixels per inch along with my iPad which is a very high PPI display. If I keep the Windows scaling on the iPad at 125% then everything is miniscule. Should I try running a custom resolution to workaround this? Any other ideas?

    #26565

    Hi @dougw03,

Thank you very much. It appears that the problem is not related to spacedesk, but is instead a known scaling issue with Windows. We have also experienced this issue once even without spacedesk connected.

We found some links that contain very similar issues which might help.

    Hi @badbob001,
The size of the viewer window is independent of its resolution. A small window with a high resolution will result in smaller text. If you’re confident with your resolution (958×1326) then it’s already scaled to 100%.

I frequently use the windows screen snip tool for my work and recently started using an iPad as a secondary/tertiary screen. When I use a windows device as a secondary display with spacedesk (via LAN), I can screen snip without any issues. However, when I use my ipad (whether it be as a second or third display), I can only snip within a somewhat random region of the screen. I recorded a video in which I have my dual display (running Windows 11 on both machines) and can snip without any issues. When I turn on my iPad as a third display then you can see the issue I described. Here’s a video showcasing the issue: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XOw_bWyQrMT7xrMUd1Hw17fcDU2WoiWU/view?usp=drive_link

This also happens if I just use my main display + iPad a secondary display (i.e. dual monitor setup). Any ideas what might be causing this?

    hi.
First of all, thank you for making a good product.

My home internet speed is not good, so it is more stable i connect with usb than wifi.

So I connected my iPad mini6(usb-c) and iPhone xr(lighting 8pin) with usb. But there is no audio.

I wonder it’s a bug or if you’re going to support the audio by connected usb

I’m using the viewer on windows and don’t want it to fill the entire screen. I use fancyzones/displayfusion to split my monitor into sections and so only want the spacedesk viewer to fit into a 960×1360 section.

So there is no way to disable scaling? Wouldn’t that be a problem if the server has 4K resolution and the viewer less than 1080p? Would be super blurry I suspect. Would be nice to have a 100% scale toggle for panning around.

Here is my current workaround. I took a screen capture of the spacedesk window and with the help of a image editor, was able to estimate that for my system, the titlebar is 33 pixels high and there is a 1 pixel border on the left, right, and bottom. So then I set the custom resolution to be (960-(1+1))x(1360-(33+1)) = 958×1326. Now the spacedesk view looks sharp but I can’t be totally sure that it’s 100% scale.

    #26540

    Hi @badbob001,
The view transformation settings you mentioned is not needed since this is for 3D scaling via mouse input.
if you want the display to fit your screen, you can just use your device’s native resolution then enter full sceen mode.

    Hi @marwansidky,
Please try the following and see if the orientation is still greyed out under this steps.
    1. Press Windows key + I to open Settings.
    2. Select System, and then Display.
    3. Under the Orientation option, select Portrait.

also, are you maybe using a surface pro machine?

For a windows to windows configuration, I’m trying to configure the spacedesk resolution so that it fits in a 960×1360 (taller than wide) spacedesk viewer window at 100% pixel scaling (I want sharp text). Due to the spacedesk viewer titlebar and borders, I need to set the spacedesk resolution lower than 930×1360 but it requires trial and error . Is there a way to set the viewer to always show 100% scaling so I can be sure my resolution fits the viewer’s size perfectly?

    Hi @riyuihein-xheiiyne
Unfortunately, audio support is not available in Windows 7/8.1
it is only available in Windows 10/11.

    Hi @immakiller12324,
“free for non-commercial use only” indicates that you are using a non-commercial/free version of spacedesk Android viewer. if you do not wish to see such messages, you will have to purchase a business license.

    Hi @ant1dote,
Could you please open the Windows Display Settings on your primary machine and then check for detached/greyed-out client. if there is, just attach it by selecting extend from the drop-down menu.

    Device:
Laptop: DELL inspiron 16 with windows 11 24H2 (*The worst laptop in the world)
Tablet: Samsung A9+ with Android 14 OneUI 6.0

In device manager it would show as “USB Mobile Monitor Device”, in properties the manufacturer is “Amyuni Technologies” and this is confusing, I don’t know if spacedesk use that drive for usb display, I know that driver is for virtual display software called “USBMMID” is that conflicting with spacedesk usb driver?

I’ve tried to update the device driver but nothing worked, spacedesk is just updated and usb connection is both enable on my laptop and tablet, I’ve tried weather usb debugging is on or off, nothing changed, I can confirm that my laptop sees the tablet but spacedesk says connected usb devide is 0, on my tablet I can’t chose USB mode since it would force it into file transfer mode when spacedesk usb mode is on.

Any clue of why usb mode does not working? I’ve attached my diagnostic file

    Hi @kitrus,
Do you have Nvidia graphics driver on your primary machine?
Is Nvidia ShadowPlay/screen recording currently active?
If yes, please disable it, reboot then try again with spacedesk.

If problem still persist, please send us the following info:
    Primary Machine
    – operating system (Windows 8.1/10)?
    – graphics adapter (AMD/Intel/Nvidia)
    – network connection type (wired/wireless/USB tethering/WiFi Direct)

    Secondary Machine
    – Viewer type (Android/iOS/Windows/HTML5)
    – network connection type (wired/wireless/USB tethering/WiFi Direct)

    Hi @riyuihein-xheiiyne
Native USB connection is only available in Windows 10/11.
while Native USB connection is not supported in Win8.1 you can try USB tethering instead.
Please refer to the ‘Connecting a New Display Monitor Over the USB Cable’ -> ‘USB Tethering (iOS and Android)’ chapter in the user manual –

@spacedesk-christian I don’t quite believe that you don’t know anything about the market share of h264 hardware codecs, take a look at Nvidia’s codec support matrix – all modern GPUs support h264, even older graphics cards like the 750ti or gt1030. Well, you can say that this is not your core audience, but… Intel HD Graphics 620 works in h264 and even h265, as does Amd Radeon Graphics.
But most importantly, snapdragons from 810 are supporting h265!
Currently, no one is talking about the possibility of encoding/decoding in h264 format, because it is outdated… AV1 is entering the market in huge strides, so the software should also be ready for new technology, sometimes just to show, that you are working on product.
I love Spacedesk software, so I would like to see progress in the development of such an important part as the fundamental video processing capabilities! Turn on modern codecs not by default, but as an experimental feature – collect statistics and celebrate.
I just want to point out that the processing of applications was scheduled for 2024, but time is running out.
Best wishes to you, support dude <3

    2. if the above suggestion doesn’t work, please try to install it in a different installation folder. Also, make sure not to put any spaces between the folder name.

    Hi @jon,
is it necessary for your videowall to be 4444×1080?
I was able to make this work on my side by using the following workaround:
    – combine your tablet and phone’s width and assign it to the videowall’s width (1980+720 = 2700)
    – your video wall (wall 0) should now be 2700×1080
    – check your videowall position. you tablet and phone should now fit your videowall

today i created a videowall for my tablet and phone. but i can’t find resolution for my tablet, phone and videowall to make the top of the screen and taskbar in the screen on both my phone and tablet. the tablet is horizontal and my phone is upside down and vertical (because the cable would otherwise be in the way of the cable for my tablet and i wouldn’t be able to place my phone comfortably). i set the videowall to 4444×1080; my tablet to 1980×1080; my phone to 720×1080 moved to x1980 y0. i can’t find a resolution mix that allows me to fit my desktop in both of my screens . Would someone be able to help me?

    Hi @lwerman,
We are glad that it is now working on your side. incase of network loss, you can
set the ‘Connection loss Delay’ in the spacedesk Console to -1. This will not unplug your secondary machine and will resume its connection when the network returns.

    Hi @royuze,
Could you tell us what issue are you experiencing? is it the same with Iwerman? could you please provide information about it?

    Hi @riyuihein-xheiiyne,
spacedesk Driver for Windows 8.1 doesn’t have a driver console unlike in Windows 10 version.
you can try the keyword “server” in your search bar to view the spacedesk interface for viewer connections and server switch.

    royuze,

I don’t have anything to add to this. Problem still gone & I’m now using v2.1.16.

    Hi @amanosorana4,
    1. “free for non-commercial use only” and “Viewer licensed for private non-commercial use only” indicate that you are using a non-commercial/free version of spacedesk Android viewer. if you do not wish to see such messages, you will have to purchase a business license.
    2. “devices beyond the second one are not displayed” have you tried rebooting the 3rd Android device? Are you connecting it via USB? Could you maybe try checking if USB debugging mode is enabled on your device? if so, please disable it.

    #26392

    Hi @serruti,
Remote keyboard input works in certain conditions:
    1. If the connection is via USB cable, it should always work (LICENSED or FREE viewer app).
    2. If the connection is via WiFi (Local Area Network), it will ONLY work with LICENSED Viewer app and with “Password Protection and Encryption” enabled in spacedesk Driver Console. This means you will have to purchase a business license for it to work.
