    Hi @goodmanmsu-edu,
Just for clarification, are your touch capabilities not working even outside of spacedesk?
Could you please try to connect to the server using your UWP app (This time, do not activate remote control) > minimize the spacedesk window > see if you can perform any touch actions on the screen.

    Hi @dougw03,
We had to move this to a new topic with the specific issue as the title to avoid confusion. Regarding the problem, are you using the latest the spacedesk UWP viewer?
Could you please check if your graphics adapter is updated to the latest version?

    #24382

No problem, Glad it worked out for you!

I noticed that the Features / OS grid shows that on Android devices a mouse is NOT supported.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 10.1 inch tablet running Android 12 and I am using a Samsung S (Bluetooth) Action Mouse paired with this tablet.

So far in my limited tests, the mouse IS working! Hurray! I can control and interact with my desktop via the Windows Spacedesk driver on my Windows 10 desktop PC.

Spacedesk is particularly useful to support a remote touch screen application to control DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) software.

@spacedesk Christian I’ve been getting (infrequent) random disconnects with the UWP app. I can’t seem to pinpoint when these happen, but I get a disconnect black screen and have to close out the app to get things to reconnect. This was problematic because it happened during a work screen share presentation today. Any idea how we can troubleshoot this?

I’ve tried it both ways. First, I plugged a wired mouse into the SURFACE tablet, started the Spacedesk viewer on the tablet, and clicked inside the screen (before moving the TDS GTN 650 onto this screen). I got the menu popup, clicked on Take Control, then used my PC mouse to move the GTN display onto the tablet. Worked fine with the system mouse, but no touchscreen functionality.
Then I did it the other way… rebooted the tablet, started the viewer, used the one tap and 3-finger gesture to bring up the menu, again chose “Take Control”, but same result… GTN worked fine with system mouse, but touches didn’t work at all.

So I’m still puzzled… I was very excited and happy to get your reply above, but I must still be missing something in this process… any further ideas?
    THanks very much!

    Hi @lanson,
Have you tried the latest spacedesk Driver version? We released a new one a while ago. Could you please check if you can now run the spacedesk console using this version?

    Hi @goodmanmsu-edu,
Have you taken control over your spacedesk screen? You will need to activate Remote Control first to use the touch functionality in MS store version of the viewer. To do this, you can simply use your Surface tablet’s mouse and click inside the active spacedesk viewer. A dialog box will appear, click ‘Take Control’ then try to use touch screen to see if it is working now.

If you don’t have an external mouse for your Surface tablet, you can also try the following method, although it’s a bit difficult to activate:
-> Tap once to activate the green menu bar at the top of the screen.
-> While the green menu bar is visible, perform a three-finger-tap gesture.
-> This should bring up the dialog to enter touch mode.
Please let us know if this works for you.

A quick followup: I just found that the same process using an ancient Android tablet works just fine… whatever I drag onto the touchscreen responds just fine to finger pokes. So it seems likely to be either a MS Surface configuration problem or a problem with the Spacedesk viewer for Windows-based tablets. Hope that helps someone see what is likely the problem…

    Hi @mz,
We tried installing it on our side using different browsers and it is still installing properly.
Are you able to install different apps other than spacedesk?
When you click the install button in the browser, does the MS Store application open?
Could you try to manually open the MS Store app, search the spacedesk viewer and install it?

If the above instructions didn’t work, try following the steps provided in this link –
    https://www.minitool.com/news/cant-install-apps-from-windows-store.html

    Hi @srirams05,

We are glad that it is now working on your side.
In case of Desktop duplication, the answer is No. you don’t have to match the resolution of your main display and Ipad. however, to get the best experience and ensure a good display quality, it is recommended that your main screen resolution and spacedesk Viewer resolution have the same “aspect ratio” (e.g. 4:3). for 4:3 aspect ratio: Main display screen 1920×1440 and viewer display screen 800×600.
You can change resolution of spacedesk Viewer in spacedesk Viewer app menu.

    Hi @mz,

It looks like you are trying to download a different spacedesk viewer app from the MS Store. To make sure you are downloading the correct spacedesk Windows 10 viewer, please go to our download page at https://www.spacedesk.net/#download and click the link that has ‘Microsoft’ on it. This will direct you to the correct download page in the Microsoft Store.

I’m using last version on both win10 with Spacedesk server and Ipad 2 ios 15.9.7 as client.
Would be nice if reconnect did work, now I need to restart app on iPad.

I’d like server to “hold” extend desktop … when secondary screen is off.

    Hi @srirams05,
    You could try the following:
    1. Disable your IPV6 in Control Panel > Network and Internet > network connection > right click on your network adapter and uncheck ‘Internet Protocol Version 6’ and leave ipv4 checked.
    or
    2. you can try to prioritize IPV4 over IPV6, please run the Command Prompt as Administrator and type the following commands below:
    reg add hklm\system\currentcontrolset\services\tcpip6\parameters /v DisabledComponents /t REG_DWORD /d 0x20
then reboot your pc and try to connect with spacedesk

Q: In my LAN setup described above, can I connect my ipad to the LAN switch to which the Primary PC is connected?
A: Yes, Theoretically, it should work with the use of an ethernet adapter for your Ipad, but please note that this feature has not been fully tested yet. so it may or may not work on some devices.

I have successfully linked my Android tablet as a second extended screen to my Windows laptop over both WiFi and USB cable.

However, I want to use a single window containing my remote desktop and stretch this across both screens (on my dual Windows screen desktop setup I will have email on one screen and work on the other and wish to replicate this with Spacedesk on my laptop-tablet configuration).

I can move the remote desktop window between the two screens and get a small amount on both a the same time but I cannot stretch it right across both screens. I can’t open a second instance on one screen will log off the extant instance.

Is this possible – am I missing a setting somewhere?

OK, I reinstalled 1075 & it seems to be working perfect. Not a single reconnect notification or observable glitch in about 3 hours. I didn’t mention this in my original post as I was saving it for a follow-up, but when 1075 was having issues, I would also sometimes see a message from spacedesk complaining about poor connectivity. It would sometimes popup onscreen & disappear. I had no idea what the issue could be.

My laptop is wired thru a Thunderbolt 4 dock, the tablet is just above it on Wi-Fi 5GHz & the router both are connected to is less than 1 meter to the side. I tried using other apps on the tablet & they seemed fine as a test.

I will keep an eye on the situation, advise & submit the diagnostics if the issue arises again.
If I can be of any assistance, please let me know. While all is well I’m going to turn off the diags for now.

    Thanx…..Len

    Hello SpaceDesk Team,

Your software works great on my Surface tablet.
    I have got two feature requests;

    1. Support for lower refresh rates (30 Hz, 15Hz)
This is useful for applications with (mostly) static screens (text editing) and low network bandwidth.

2 In addition to the MSI installer it would be nice to have a SpaceDesk driver package.
(Zipped folder containing an .inf file, and all the application files)
This will allow users to slipstream the SpaceDesk application and drivers into Windows installation media.

    Hi @freakymood,
Unfortunately, The current version of spacedesk Windows 7 viewer doesn’t have the option to hide the ‘x’ button during full-screen mode.
For now, you can use the spacedesk UWP viewer (for Windows 10) since the full-screen mode in this viewer does not have the ‘x’ button.

    Hi @sskyau,
Thank you very much for providing information regarding this issue.
since you cannot install any MSI, removing the old drivers should now be done manually.
Please Go to chapter “UNINSTALL ON WINDOWS PRIMARY MACHINE” => “Manual Uninstall (Troubleshooting Only)” in the user manual https://manual.spacedesk.net/ManualUninstallTroubleshootingOn.html
Do all 7 steps (Step 1 – Step 7) mentioned in this chapter
Chapter “APPENDIX”=> “File List” states all executable files. After deleting all these, there should be nothing left to see any more.

Note: these steps should only be done in exceptional cases if needed and if previously discussed with spacedesk support.

I got the error message when I was trying to install. I rebooted the computer and got the same result. I think the problem is space desk had been installed previously and for some reasons I need to reinstall the Windows. I restore all the drivers from backup after I reinstall Win10, therefore, I think the space desk drivers also got restored (I captured the screen from search for “spacedesk” in window explorer). So may be it is the problem, how can I remove the existing old drivers now? I can’t get the program to install so there is no option for me to uninstall.

I’ve been using Spacedesk for about 3 years. Every time I use the update feature, the new install file downloads into the Public Downloads folder, not the d/l folder under my user account. For me, that sort of keeps them out of sight, as I have 4 older versions to pick from. I’d probably have more if I hadn’t replaced my laptop last November.
I just uninstalled the 1075 & ran the 1073 file right from the Public d/l folder.

I am the latest 1.0.75 version installed using the Windows 0.0.30 viewer on the client machine.

The viewer correctly identifies the server hostname but shows a green connection available on another IP address than the host in the same subnet. Manually adding the correct IP does not fix it.

I am using the local IP address on the same subnet as the router and not trying to connect via the Tailscale virtual network.

The ip of my server is 192.168.0.150 and the viewer is finding a connectable client on 192.168.0.14 (which is another computer that doesn’t have the Spacedesk server installed but does have tailscale). Weirdly it comes up green. If I disconnect tailscale it shows both IPs but connects normally on 192.168.0.150.

And I don’t want to use spacedesk web because it uses html5 and it is very laggy with only cpu clients. (100% Cpu usage)

    Hi @spacedesk-christian,

I see a similar behavior with an iPad 9 (iPadOS 17.0.3).

Connecting via network works without any issues. Only the presented desktop is rotated by 180°.

Current workaround: locking the screen in iOS and rotating the iPad by 180°.

    Hi @hngbr,

    Your Phone/Main monitor:
    Resolution: 1600×720, Aspect Ratio: 2.22: 1
    What you want:
    Resolution: 800×600, Aspect Ratio: 4:3

You can’t stretch the game to fit your whole screen without getting those black bars because these two resolutions have different Aspect ratios.
If you want the game to cover your entire screen on your main monitor, you’ll need to adjust the game’s resolution to match your phone/main display’s aspect ratio, which is 2.22:1. So, instead of 800×600, we suggest picking a lower resolution with a 22.2:1 aspect ratio to make it fit better (e.g 800×360)

note: make sure to set spacedesk viewer resolution to your phone’s native resolution too.
since you are only using mirroring mode, just go to spacedesk viewer settings > Resolution > uncheck the ‘Use custom resolution’

    Hi @robert-cooper,

spacedesk can support up to 16 viewer connections as long as your Windows 10/11 primary machine’s resources can handle all the connected displays.
If you have Windows 7/8.1 primary machine, it can support up to 3 viewer connections.

How many remote screens can spacedesk support?
I am wanting to broadcast a screen to the whole office, and allow them the ability to see the screen on their desktop, Spacedesk seems ideal, but how many remote screens can I have?

    #24171

    Hi @hngbr,

In case of Desktop duplication (mirroring main screen):
Your main screen resolution and spacedesk Viewer resolution need to have same aspect ratio (e.g. 4:3). Example for 4:3 aspect ratio: Main display screen 1920×1440 and viewer display screen 800×600. You can change resolution of spacedesk Viewer in spacedesk Viewer app menu. Still the game might cause black regions on each side or top and bottom if it does not support this specific resolution.

    In case of Desktop extension:
You just need to select a resolution which is supported by the game. Change resolution of spacedesk Viewer in spacedesk Viewer app menu.

Are you using Desktop duplication (mirror) mode or Desktop extension mode? In case of mirror/duplication Which resolution do you have on your main monitor? Which game are you playing? Which resolutions does this game support? Does this game adjust resolution automatically?

    Which viewer are you using?
Zooming is possible in both spacedesk Windows 7 viewer and the spacedesk UWP viewer for Windows 10.
In Windows 7, you can zoom in/out using your mouse’s scroll wheel.
In the Windows 10 viewer, make sure to enable the ‘Scale’ option in the settings > display. Once enabled, you can zoom in and out on the spacedesk screen with your mouse’s scroll wheel.

To mirror flip the spacedesk screen for teleprompter use, you have to switch ON the Videowall mode via spacedesk Driver Console -> VIDEOWALL, then click the connected client underneath Unassigned (or Video Wall# if its assigned to a videowall).
On the right side panel underneath videowall client settings, you will find below the “Flipped Display (for mirroring)” checkbox and just check it.

How could I disable the optimization spacedesk has when there very little moving on the screen?
I’m using an Ipad Air 5 connected to a High end PC with Mobile Hotspot at 5ghz, the connection speed is amazing and there’s very little delay with everything maxed.
My only problem is when there’s little to no movement on the screen, spacedesk has some sort of optimization that causes stutters and the mouse to feel laggy in a static background.

My question is, can I disable this optimization?

Thank you very much for sending your logfiles. We can see that device driver software installation is disabled on your PC in general. We can also see previous install failures of other device driver software (other than spacedesk). We do not know which specific actions or settings disabled device driver install on your machine. We assume this is your private PC (not a corporate PC managed by an administrator). Still we do not want to give any instructions how to fiddle with security settings at the moment. Do you have any idea what could cause this? Did you install a new firewall Software or antivirus software? Did you change SSD drives from different machines? Etc. etc. etc.
