My computer is connected to an audio interface, using an ASIO driver, and whenever I connect to the computer via SpaceDesk Viewer, I start to hear clicks, pops and glitches in the audio output of the USB interface.
If I disconnect from the Viewer, the clicks stop immediately.
Using the DPC Latency Checker, i see my latency go from 500uS to 1000uS. So, Is there any configuration? I can do in the Space Desk Driver that will resolve this?
I think it could be several things, the refresh rate.
For Sure, My Windows 11 is well optimized, even if I change the ASIO to 32, 64, 128, 256, the problem persists.
I’ve already done several optimizations of drives, services, cpu park, cpu sleep, and nothing works.
    Any Ideias?

    Hi,
I loved using spacedesk for the past week but today out of nowhere, the pressure sensitivity stopped working.
I tried reinstalling the driver and Android app but no luck.
IIRC there was a pen icon in the taskbar when I connected the tablet and now it’s missing.
I’m using Windows 11, Illustrator (with pressure-sensitive brush), and Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2
    Any idea what went wrong?

    Hi @mevigour,
unfortunately, we do not give out the spacedesk iOS viewer IPA file.
The only official way to get this is through the Apple Store.

An alternative is to use the spacedesk HTML5 viewer.
Just open a browser and go to the HTML5 viewer link available from our Download page.
Please note that this viewer has limited features and is slower than the native application.

I have an iPad mini 2, running iOS 12.4. I have forgotten the Apple ID password and cannot recover it, so I cannot install apps through the App Store anymore. Now I can only install apps through third-party platforms like iTools, but they don’t have SpaceDesk. I want to install SpaceDesk, so I need your official SpaceDesk IPA file. Thank you.————–my email: mevigour@hotmail.com

    Hi @yak991224,
I see, it seems the status bar is really affecting the spacedesk display, Could you maybe look into the settings and check if there is an auto-hide feature of that status bar?

    @spacedesk Christian

    for the stretched issue:
I am not using the duplicate mode. I’m using the extending mode.
The main screen resolution is 1920×1080, the tablet using 3048×1904, and tablet’s native resolution is 3048×2032. The display was stretched in ANY resolutions whether using or not using the custom resolutions.

    #26132

    Hi @yak991224,
    for the stretched issue:
Could you tell us what is your main display’s resolution?
it seems like you are using duplicate mode,
in the spacedesk app settings, you can set up a custom resolution for desktop duplication. you can try experimenting with what resolution you prefer, just make sure that it has the same aspect ratio as your main display resolution.

Currently spacedesk does not support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection).
Evaluation and possibly implementation would be a huge effort.
We can only move into this direction if there is a large scale corporate customer who has enough budget for funding this (this is actually the way how most existing spacedesk features were developed).

    Hi @theironfist,
is Itunes or Apple Devices app running in the backgroud? please make sure to run it first before trying to connect using USB cable.
you can also try restarting your spacedesk Driver as well as your USB Cable iOS.
also, completely reinstalling the spacedesk App may also help.

    #26120

    Hi @kenan,
Could you please check if the USB Cable iOS option is enabled in spacedesk Driver Console -> Communication interface?

I am currently using a Windows 11 PC and a KindleFire tablet with a USB connection.
When I try to play the contents on Amazon PrimeVideo, I can’t get high quality playback even on the main display connected to the PC with a DP cable because it does not support HDCP.
When I disconnected the tablet, high quality playback became possible, so something in spacedesk seems to be the cause.

    Does spacedesk officially support HDCP?

(Up until the other day, PrimeVideo was also able to playback in high quality, and I don’t think there were any errors related to HDCP…but the information on the web was also mixed, with both supported and unsupported information.)

I’ve noticed that sometimes after setting back to landscape mode, the scaling of the Spacedesk Viewer remains in portrait mode (but the oriantation now is correct). In this case, simply disconnect and reconnect. Then it worked fine for me again.

Unfortunately, I have exactly the same problem. The second screen is also a touch notebook with a built-in orientation sensor. I am using the Windows store viewer on Windows10.

I played around with the settings for 2 days and found a workaround that worked for me.

The problem is indeed that the viewer thinks it is in portrait mode. So, the workaround was to set the client display of the second notebook to portrait mode, then start the Spacedesk Viewer connection, and then set the display settings back to landscape mode.

I hope this helps some of you here in search of a solution.

The problem could simply be solved with a “Set orientation” function in the viewer app.

    Hi @cmfield,

this is a current known issue on tablets without a touchpad/keyboard attached.

Can a touchpad/keyboard be attached to the tablet?
To activate touch, the spacedesk Windows viewer needs a tap event from the touchpad. It will then show a “Take control” message box.

If a touchpad/keyboard is not available,
I suggest to install the Windows 7 viewer Beta III v0.9.45. This can be downloaded from our website.

Have you tried with USB Type A on the laptop?

I am experiencing the same problem as him.
I am trying to extend the screen on my surface laptop and fire hd 8.
I have succeeded with wireless but failed with wired connection.
I will describe what I have tried to improve the situation.
The USB surface laptop has USB type-A 2.0 and mini displayport and the fire hd 8 has USB type-c.
First, I tried to connect both devices USB to USB.
Both devices made a connection sound, but the screen did not extend.
The USB connection was not recognized on spacedesk either.
Next, we tried connecting via mini displayport.
When connecting the cable, we used a capture board so that the direction of the output was in one direction, but the screen was not output.
However, other applications were able to make a wired connection this way.

In addition, we restarted and reinstalled the app, unplugged and plugged in the cable, and restarted the device, but could not do so.

I would also like to use it without wi-fi.
Thank you in advance for your help.

    Hi @masterpj55,

better network bandwidth could also result to better performance and lower latency.

    Currently,
the maximum available refresh rate in spacedesk is 60fps and
HEVC or any other hardware accelerated encoding is not used.

    Hi @dweaver,

could you please send the full spacedesk diagnostics?

Is the cable directly connected to a USB port or hub?
Is the cable connected to a USB 2.0 or 3.0 port?
Have you tried to slowly unplug-plug the USB cable?
Have you tried to restart the tablet and Windows PC?

I was wondering if there is any advantage over 2.5g ethernet vs gigabit ethernet for spacedesk?
I want the lowest latency possible using a direct ethernet cable from 2 windows laptops.

I found an gigabit usb c ethernet interface for both sides and it looks quite good at 60fps
I would be willing to pay for an 80fps or 120fps mode just for even more response rate and take advantage of my surface pro in extended display mode more for drawing…

Does spacedesk make use of HEVC. Using a 4080 laptop?

    Hi @jerryss,

Is it the spacedesk Windows viewer from Microsoft Store?
To activate touch, the viewer needs a tap event from the touchpad of the Lenovo laptop. It will then show a “Take control” message box.

Touch also works for the second up to the Nth connected viewer.
Only that it will function as an absolute mouse.

I have an old Lenovo laptop that has a touch screen. I’ve installed spacedesk client.

It works as a display, but I cannot get the touch screen to recognize the touch. Is there any set up required?

When I tap on the screen I see the spacedesk settings across the top. Touch works fine with iPad iOS. ( I understand that spacedesk touch only works with the first connected device. Is this correct? )

Thank you very much for pointing out this issue.
We were not aware of this specific situation.
We intend to fix it in a different way:
We will support arrow keys even in free non-commercial version of spacedesk.
Thus TV remote control keys should work for all spacedesk licenses (no matter if business or non-commercial).
We will soon release spacedesk DRIVER version 2.1.15 which will include the above named fix.
Please let us know if this solves your problem.

Have you already tried the suggestions in the Performance tuning chapter in the spacedesk documentation?
    Link: https://manual.spacedesk.net/PERFORMANCETUNING.html

Bypassing network routers can improve the performance, this can be done by using direct ethernet cable connection (crossover) or using WiFi Direct/Hotspot.

    Hi @ar_rs25,
Thank you very much for reporting this issue.
This seems to be a difficult and rare bug which possibly even resides in Windows itself.
We managed to reproduce this behaviour even with IddCx touch displays other than spacedesk.
It will definitely take a longer time to fix (if it can be fixed at all).
Could you give us some more hints?
How often does it occur on your side?
Do you have any steps how to reliably reproduce?

In the meantime, to get rid of the transparent boxes, all you can do is log-out then log-in again on your primary machine.

So, let me make sure that I’m understanding this correctly:
In updating the Windows 11 driver to v2.1.11, it breaks the connection for input from networked devices, such as the remote controls of the Amazon Fire TVs that we’re mirroring the Windows laptop to. The updated aspect of the driver that breaks that connection requires a business license on those peripherals to restore functionality…but that business license doesn’t exist for the Amazon peripherals that the driver update has rendered inert?

Is there a way to access & rollback to an older Win11 driver version, until business license support for Amazon devices has been provided? Because otherwise, that means Spacedesk has effectively taken away functionality to devices without providing the option to purchase & restore that functionality.

My computer displays a 4070 graphics card, and the Spacedesk view used on my Android phone was downloaded from Google Play because Amazon has been unable to install it. At this point, when the computer is connected to a display screen and a USB connection is used to connect the phone, the spacedesk view only displays the taskbar, and the rest is black. Even if the display screen is turned off, it cannot be solved. The only way is to unplug the cable on the graphics card.

    Hi @galvisefrain,
We moved your reply from its previous thread to avoid confusion.

Are you connected via Wifi or USB cable?
if it is Wifi, Network traffic can reduce the performance significantly, ensure that your wireless network is stable and provides a strong and consistent signal.

please note that Highest performance is already achieved by cabled networks => cabled connection (e.g. native Android USB, ethernet) so you might want to try using a USB cable.

for further information, please refer to performance tuning chapter in the user manual:
    https://manual.spacedesk.net/PERFORMANCETUNING.html

i use spacedesk with MS flight simulator (for aircraft panels) it works great

    Hi @thegamingguy,
The effectiveness of using a tablet as a secondary monitor depends on factors like Wi-Fi stability, resolution, device specifications, and software compatibility.

Drawbacks include the need for a stable Wi-Fi connection, affecting game performance.
But for optimal gaming experience, wired connections like USB or Ethernet cables are recommended.

Regarding anti-cheat systems, using a second monitor isn’t considered cheating unless displaying game information not normally accessible or uses suspicious software. there have been no reports from other users indicating that spacedesk has triggered violations in the anti-cheat systems of their games so far.

    Hi @zerogravity994,

spacedesk is free for private non-commercial use. Only free version does expire. Paid business license does not expire.

Currently availability of business license is limited to Google Play Store for Android. Soon, iOS and Windows business version will follow in Apple Store and Microsoft Store. In the meantime iOS and Windows Viewers can be used for free even by business users.

Upon expiry, screen will turn to black and white (no more colors). This only happens in the non-commercial version of the Viewer.

Upon expiry a new version of the spacedesk Driver needs to be downloaded from the spacedesk website.
