When I use my iOS or iPadOS devices, the app constantly shows “Cannot detect Sever!”.
I am able to connect to the windows device from an Android device, or use the H5 weblink on the iOS devices.
I tried to reinstall the server software on my windows device, but it did not fix the problem. Switch to another windows device have the same result(Android via app successful, ios via H5 successful, ios via app unable).

Can someone help me solve this problem?

My server software version is Beta 1.0.11.
iPad: iPad Pro 12.9in 3rd gen on iPadOS 15.0 beta 6.
iPhone: iPhone X on iOS 14.7.1
Android: Xiaomi Tablet 5 pro on Android 11
All the software and apps are up-to-date

This is a strange issue. As of the time I post this message the Android App is at its latest version and using the Windows beta driver: 1.0.11

What happens is that I leave the computer alone for some number of minutes. About half an hour.

The Spacedesk app on the Android 5.1 tablet has it’s last picture display frozen on it. The space desk driver on Windows is on, but the second display (which is supposed to be the second monitor had vanished). Actually while I was typing this message it looks like it re-initialised the connection and just decided start working again without any action on my part.

This second screen loss is present in the last few versions.

At the moment that’s all I’ve got for you. Are there any logs I can send to you?

    Hi,
i am running the driver (beta 1.0.10) on my Thinkpad.
Connecting from the Android viewer does work.
However, when trying to locally connect via HTML 5 viewer, I repeatedly get a bluescreen with the following error:
    “driver_irql_not_less_or_equal”.
    Please advice.

    Hi @brad_sask,
    Thanks for the input.
Auto-rotation is still not yet implemented/handled in our Windows 10 viewer app.
This might be the only solution to fix the rotation issue on your side.
We will check with our developer if this missing feature will be available anytime soon.

    Hi @multi-cat,
Ah I see.. currently spacedesk can only send one keyboard input at a time, it does not support entering words as a single input.

As for the disconnection issue upon entering special characters, we tried to reproduce it here but so far we are not successful.
To further analyze this issue, could you please download the spacedesk diagnostic script here, then extract it.
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/z8h5llgi8c2ig3g/2021_spacedeskDiagnosticTool.zip?dl=0

Inside you will find spacedeskDiagnosticTool.cmd, just right-click it then run as administrator.
This script will start a debug view app to capture spacedesk debug traces.
On step 5 it will prompt you to reproduce the issue (by connecting the viewer app, send keyboard input with emojis or special characters to reproduce the disconnect issue), make sure to do this before pressing any key to continue.
After the script is done, a folder will be created on the same folder as the script file which contains various log files that we need for analysis.
Please right-click it -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file on your next reply.

    HI
About entering words , I use IME and it have this fuction. You can enter the letter in IME then enter the word from the IME.It is very convenient when English is used with other languages.
I installed driver v1.0.10 , but there are the same problems.I think this issue is caused by Unicode , I tried to enter a lot kinds of emojis and I found the special emojis all have more than one Unicode, such as the flag emoji.I guess the special characters have the same reason.

I am here to confirm that Spacedesk worked perfectly with a newer version of Winlock Professional.

So the solution would be to upgrade to a newer version if there are issues as mentioned in the 1st post.

    Hi @multi-cat,
    Thanks for the feedback.

Using software keyboard, how do you enter a word?
Isn’t it you have to enter letter by letter?

By the way, could you please try our most recent spacedesk Driver v1.0.10 from our website and check if you get the same disconnection issue whenever you enter these special characters or emojis?

    Hi @angels11_6,
Thanks for sending the diagnostic logs.
It seems that you have an OSBase display driver on your primary machine.
There’s a possibility that it’s causing a conflict with spacedesk.
Are you using any USB display software while trying to connect a spacedesk? Or any similar software like spacedesk?

    Hi @galo,

So the initial problem is that your android tablet cannot discover your Windows 10 computer, right?
Do you maybe have VPN (Virtual Private Network) active?
Do you have any third party firewall software that might probably blocking the spacedesk connection?
If yes, please make sure to add c:\Windows\system32\spacedeskService.exe on your exception list to allow incoming/outgoing connection.

For assistance, please also check Troubleshooting – Network Connection chapter in our user manual.

I have my server computer (win 10) running 1920 * 1080. I have a windows 10 client tablet running 1280 * 800. When I connect in extended mode, it shows the tablet background and any windows I drag as if in portrait mode even though my server is set as both portrait mode. I can fool the tablet by setting it as portrait (flipped) but the display resolution appears wonky.

    Thanks for any help!

    Hello there!

I would like some help with regards to my iOS keyboard I’m using for input into a PC over Spacedesk.

I’m using a Brydge Pro Max+ Keyboard (iOS) connected through Bluetooth to my iPad (not pc)(see link):
https://www.brydge.co.uk/products/brydge-12-9-max-plus (very similar to magic Keyboard).

General input for letter keys and numbers works just fine, however, TAB, SPACEBAR, ENTER, BACKSPACE and ARROW KEYS don’t seem to register. I’m assuming it is because this is an iOS keyboard that the PC doesn’t recognize fully.

How can I make them work? Is there a way to map the keys or make it work? Is there a method to emulate or anything like that? I feel like I am so close to having an iPad as my main screen to my PC, but these keys don’t work and it’s a bit of a disappointment.

Can anyone help me with this issue? Is there a way I can make it work?

    Kind regards,

    V

While trying to use Spacedesk for Microsoft Flight Simulator, like many others I’ve come to the realization that the simulator does not support touch inputs properly.

However, I found an old topic in the old Spacedesk support forum which explained how to fall back from touch input to mouse input in Spacedesk, which seems to have solved the issue. Unfortunately, the instructions there were for an older version, and seem to no longer be valid. Is it still possible to switch back to use mouse pointer input?

The instructions I’m referring to (relevant for v0969):

You can still use the mouse touch input (like before) just follow the steps below:
    – run services.msc on your primary machine
    – find spacedeskService and right-click Stop it (temporarily)
    – run devmgmt.msc on your primary machine
    – click “View” tab “Device by connection”
    – find spacedesk virtual HID Device (Can no longer find this in newer versions)
    – underneath the spacedesk virtual HID Device, right-click “disable device” all 3 HID-compliant touch screen
    – go back to services.msc and restart the spacedeskService
    – try to connect a spacedesk viewer, mouse-touch input should work now instead of touch screen input

    • Server: Win 10 / Spacedesk 1.0.9
    • Client: Amazon Fire Tablet / Spacedesk 0.9.74

    Hi @morris202,
spacedesk supports multiple viewer connection (up to 16 viewers) using our native viewer apps (Android/iOS/Windows). As long as your primary machine’s resources (GPU/CPU/Network) can handle it.
As for connection over another network, unfortunately it’s not possible.
spacedesk only supports connection over the same local area network.

As we had a post on the old forum about Spacedesk on Linux, here it is again 😀

What does work quite good at the moment:

Run spacedesk Msi installer for Windows 7 (seems discontinued) -> works quite well
Spacedesk UWP/Microsoft Store App for Windows 10 -> does not run in Wine.

Maybe @Spacedesk you could still provide a msi for the Linux Users as on Linux the Windows Client using Wine is ways faster than the Html5 one.

Based on your dxdiag info, your Intel graphics adapter on your primary machine is an old version with WDDM 1.1 model.
Desktop duplication of primary monitor to other displays is disabled in Windows display settings of Windows 10 with old version of graphics adapter (< WDDM 2.0). Hi @paul16,
    Thanks for the feedback.
For now, we are still investigating what might be the cause of Code 31 on our driver on your machine.
We tried to reproduce it here with the same operating system (Windows 10 x64 for Workstations) and so far it’s working properly on our side.
We are not sure if this will help, but maybe you can also try to open Windows Settings -> Update & Security -> Troubleshoot -> Additional Troubleshooters, then run the troubleshooter for:

    Hi @angels11_6,

    Thanks for the info.
Is there any issue on spacedesk discovery on your side?
Based on the debugview log file you sent, the viewer were able to connect to the server’s IP address properly, it’s just that the server detects an incompatible display hook driver on your priamry machine which is the cause of display off status on your side.

Were you able to remove/uninstall the incompatible display driver detected by the spacedesk server?
Please confirm if you have splashtop WiredX display or Duet Display software on your primary machine.

    Hi @djgab,
If you are trying to connect to your localhost then it will not work.
Connecting a Windows viewer app from the same primary machine is not supported.
You can only connect a Windows Viewer from another secondary machine to your primary machine.

If you want a local host connection, you can only do that using spacedesk HTML5 Viewer which operates thru web browsers.
Just open a web browser on your primary machine (e.g. Google Chrome) the go to http://viewer.spacedesk.net/, then try to connect to its own IP address.
Please keep in mind that spacedesk allows only 1 HTML5 viewer connection at a time.

Can you please try to enable the Settings -> Display -> “Keep display on” option on Windows 10 Viewer, and check if it helps?

    Hi @headcloser,

So those nok games giving an error, like they do not recognizing the display, the driver, or smartphone some thing similar to this

Are they giving the same errors?
Did you connect the spacedesk before launching the games?
Or game is already running before connecting the spacedesk?
Are you trying to move your 3D games on spacedesk display for remote viewing?

As for the slow performance and high cpu usage, there are some factors that can cause it:
    – if you have a big resolution on your viewer screen (e.g. 1920×1080 – above) spacedesk image compression can consume too much CPU load
    – if spacedesk is connected over the wireless network, then routers can cause lags and latency.
Bypassing them always improves performance. Configure Windows PC or Android device as WiFi Access Point (Hotspot) and connect to it before connecting spacedesk.
USB Tethering achieves the same result.
Please check the chapter “Performance Tuning” in the instruction manual: https://spacedesk.net/user-manual

I also just lost the ability to use the touch screen on my Android Fire. It has been working fine before. I reinstalled the latest driver on my Windows 10 64 bit PC, and reinstalled the latest app on the Kindle/Fire. I have enabled Absolute Touch on the Fire settings, same as before, but nothing seems to be working. I have the latest NVIDA drivers for my 3060 graphics card.

Let me thank you first for this awesome application. Brilliant.

I can’t get remote control/input working. Attached please find the debug information as requested in another thread on the same topic.

I am using spacedesk viewer on a laptop tablet running Windows 10. I also tried the HTML 5 Viewer as well as the Viewer on android. No input is processed by the remote machine.

While in remote control mode the Viewer seems to capture keyboard input. ALT-TAB or the Windoes Key do not work while remote control is enabled on the viewer.

    What am I missing?

    dear developer:
I’m using this software with my win10 lapptop + ipad pro.when I lanch it,the laptop’s fans will spin very fastly.so I open the task manager, find that gpu doesn’t work and cpu is full running.so this driver is basicly using cpu rather than gpu?But I think gpu encode(nvenc vce or quicksync)is very powerful and easily.so I wanna know why don’t use gpu encode. If it is in the develop plan, when I could use it?
Last but not least, thanks for your development!

Well I found a solution to this.
Make a text file with a .ps1 suffix. This mean it is a Powershell script.
In the file write a line

    Start-Process -WindowStyle Minimized SpacedeskServiceTray.exe

Nothing more. Save the file to your disk and create a shortcut of it to your Windows startup folder (usually C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp).

This will start the Spacedesk server minimized. Hope this helps to other people looking for solution.
