    Hi @alion,
    You can try 2 things:

    1. You can try to connect a virtual display without secondary machine connected using local host connection via HTML5 Viewer.
    Just open a web browser on your primary machine (e.g. Google Chrome, MS Edge), then go to http://viewer.spacedesk.net/ and connect to your local machine’s IP address.
    Please take note that only 1 connection is allowed when using spacedesk HTML5 Viewer.

    2. Enable Videowall and set the Videowall Disconnect Delay to -1 (equivalent to infinite) in spacedesk Driver Console Window.
    With disconnect delay set to infinite, it will not unplug the virtual display in your primary machine even after disconnecting the viewer app in your secondary machine. It will only unplug upon spacedesk server switch (OFF-ON) or machine reboot.

    Hi @maciek,

    1. Yes. By default, spacedesk Server starts automatically upon Windows start up. You can check this via spacedesk Driver Console -> Control, on Configuration box where you can find the “Automatic Start at System Boot Time” check box.

    2. Yes, just download the spacedesk Windows 7 Viewer (version 0.9.39) on your laptop.
    Just make sure to check the Keyboard and Audio Speaker on Functionality settings before connecting it to your Primary PC.

    hi, i have few questions, im gonna buy a pc without monitor and keyboard and the first question
    1. I must install spacedesk server on pc
    and spacedesk on laptop, im gonna install spacedesk server on pc using other monitor in my house, im gonna connect pc to laptop through ethernet and choose option in task manager “always run when pc starts” so when i start pc spacedesk opens and i can connect laptop to pc?
    2. can i use my laptop as keyboard and speakears too?

    I need virtual display on my Windows 11 Host works all time, not only when i use viewer.

    I use it with other soft, but it works only if viewer is running and connected.

    U can just give me path to config or registry..

    In case you didn’t:

    On my host computer I went to: http://viewer.spacedesk.net/ where the following happened:

    1. Went to 127.0.0.1 – connected fine
    2. Went to my local IPv4 Address – connected fine
    3. Went to default router IP 192.168.1.1 – did not connect.

    Ok, thanks for the feedback.
    I really think it has something to do with your current network. Since pinging the IP address of the client results to time out and that indicates that it cannot reach the client devices in the same network.

    Anyway, next thing to try – local host connection via HTML5 Viewer.
    Just open a web browser on your primary machine then go to http://viewer.spacedesk.net/ and connect to its own IP address OR to 127.0.0.1 and check if spacedesk can connect locally.

    Current spacedesk Windows Viewer app does not support it. But you can try local host connection with spacedesk HTML5 Viewer.
    Just open a web browser (e.g. MS Edge or Google Chrome) on your primary machine then go to http://viewer.spacedesk.net/ and connect to its own IP address or to 127.0.0.1.
    FYI: spacedesk supports 1 HTML5 Viewer connection only.

    Hey

    This is a fantastic piece of software. I really need the viewer and driver to run on the same computer, as in connect to itself. Is there a way to tweak it to allow me to connect to 127.0.0.1/localhost? Thanks!!!

    Why you ask?

    I’ve got a BIG monitor occupying a ton of space. For live streaming I need to share a FULL SCREEN to enable certain features. I can’t share my whole screen because that would be too much. I can’t share a portion because that doesn’t enable those features. I’d love to share a Spacedesk display that doesn’t exist, and choose resolution. I do however want to be able to see the content that is being shown on it and that’s where the Viewer comes in. I can open it when I need it. When I don’t I can minimize it without disturbing the feed. All with one big display.

    Answers below – and still no luck getting Spacedesk to Connect – all other prgrammes that need to connect do connect, so I’m guessing there needs to be something wrong with SpaceDesk.

    Please check in Control Panel -> Network & Internet -> Network and Sharing center -> Change advanced sharing settings,
    then check if Network discovery and File and printer sharing are ON. CHECKED EVERYTHING AND ALL ON – NOTHING CHANGED

    Are you sure that your wifi router don’t have any WiFi/AP/Client Isolation enabled? CHECKED AGAIN – NOTHING ISOLATED

    Is your primary machine (Surface) personal? Or is it company issued machine? – PERSONAL

    Is your Wifi network not a public network (e.g. University, Hotel, Restaurant)? PRIVATE HOME NETWORK

    Are your iPads from Mainland China? Are they WiFi only? Or with cellular? NOT FROM CHINA – a mix of WiFi ONLY and WIFi and CELLULAR – NOT WORKING ON ANY iPAD DEVICE REGARDLESS OF CELLULAR/WiFI ETC>

    Please check on your iPad Settings -> Privacy -> Local Network, if spacedesk is on the list and enabled? SPACEDESK VISIBLE AND ENABLED.

    Apple officially does not support iOS version 9.x/10.x as Deployment Target anymore since the latest Xcode IDE update.
    Source: https://developer.apple.com/support/xcode/
    All the other apps in the Apple App Store have also lost their compatibility to iOS 9.x/10.x since the latest updates.
    Therefore we cannot support these iOS versions anymore.

    Note there are two additional monitors attached to computer 1) 24 inch 2560×1440 2) 13 inch 1920×1080 – both were set to disconnect leaving only virtual monitor on.

    Spacedesk behaves the same whether other monitors are on and extended or disconnected.

    Hi @candeman,

    For further analyzation of your reported issue, could you please send us a video recording while comparing the resolution using spacedesk and while using the other one?
    you can try to do and record the following:

    1. record the other app while showing us the resolution in windows settings > system > display, click the second screen and scroll down to resolution. also, please show us your touch keyboard
    2. record spacedesk android viewer settings. choose the resolution the same as the resolution you are using in step 1. upon connection, go to ‘second screen only’ mode and go to windows settings > system > display and click the second screen, please show us the resolution that is shown in there as well as your touch keyboard.

    you can send us the video by uploading it in any cloud storage app like google drive or dropbox and send us the link.

    Hi,

    I’m a new user but with a common problem.

    I’ve installed latest Spacedesk on my Windows 10PC (64bit) and the DriverConsole runs fine.

    Installed latest Spacedesk on 4 of my Apple devices (2 iPad Mini, 2 iPad).

    Whenever I load run Spacedesk on any of the Apple clients, I get the ‘Cannot Detect Server Message’

    I’ve read though a number of the forum posts and can confirm:

    1. All devices are on same network
    2. Spacedesk added to my Windows Defender ‘Allow List’
    3. Network on host (Win 10) is a wireless adaptor and network set to Private
    4. No AP blocks on my router
    5. Cannot access the host IP address (on either of the 4 clients) directly either in Spacedesk or via the HTML site.
    6. Ping’d my client IP address and all time out, but the router is not blocking as I can connect the iPads to my main PC via the
    network (when running a flight simulator).
    7. USB and WiFi hotspots also not connecting
    8. Not using a VPN
    9. Recycled the Spacedesk server ON/OFF
    10. Tried all above with an Android device and get the same results

    I’ve attached the diagnostics zip file to try and help.

    Appreciate any and all help and advice.

    Are you using the most recent spacedesk Driver v1.0.50?
    If yes, please send us the diagnostic logs of the issue.
    Just follow the steps below:
    – open the spacedesk Console window app by clicking the spacedesk tray icon on your task bar’s notification area
    – click the Diagnostics on the left side panel
    – if Debug View is not available, please click the download button first
    – switch Diagnostic Collection ON (make sure to click Yes in the User Account Control box to proceed)
    – try to connect your viewer app and reproduce the disconnect issue
    – switch Diagnostic Collection OFF
    – click Save All Information button
    PS: Saving all information will take a few seconds, then please send us the whole folder which contains all the diagnostic logs collected.
    Please right-click the folder -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file in your next reply.

    Sorry in advance if this question has been asked before but …
    Do any know when the next update for space desk viewer on the Microsoft app store is coming, because I want to know when proper multi-touch will be added to windows like in android.

    also, will you ever add Virtual-Key Codes support for windows media keys.
    More things to ask for:
    • a Realtime quality slider into the viewer?
    • an audio only stream mode
    • an even lower YUV setting like 4.1.1 or even 4.0.0

    Display goes from excellent to extreme low frame rate (varies slightly between wifi and usb tether)

    This is basically a bug report, but if there is a way to fix it, I’d be glad to hear it.

    On: Android (Amazon Fire Tablet 8 HD+) (client) and Windows 10 Pro (server) (1.10.50)
    Connection type: USB tether or Wifi

    How to reproduce: On Android (Amazon) push the home button. Then push recent apps and select Spacedesk. Repeat between 2 and 10 times (varies). (I think switching to a different android app also has the same effect)

    On USB tether: Frame rate will drop to about 1 frame per second. As far as I have observed that is as low as it gets.
    On Wifi: several frames displayed, approximate 1 second freeze. Indefinite repeat.

    How to resolve: Disconnect and reconnect to server or restart android app.

    This bug is not critical, but it is annoying, especially for those of us that need to do other things on our phone/tablet while using it as a computer display. If this could get fixed I would appreciate it greatly. I love your software.

    If you cannot reproduce this issue readily and want logs or anything, let me know.

    So, I got it to work setting custom resolution to 1440 x 900 It now can dock, however it’s not ideal because it’s lower res. I can’t go higher than this resolution.

    The other app allows keyboard to dock using native resolution of tablet 1200×1920. I can even set to different resolutions from windows display settings and still have keyboard dock. Whereas using spacedesk the windows display setting the resolution is locked to what was set in android app. 1440 x 900 for example.

    I am using an 8 inch 1080p tablet by the way.

    I have attached diagnostics.

    Unfortunately, no plans to support devices with older Android version (4.1 – below) as secondary machine.
    For info, please check System Requirements chapter in the user manual https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/#item_445.

    As an alternative, you can use spacedesk HTML5 Viewer on your old Android device.
    Just open a web browser (e.g. Google Chrome) then go to http://viewer.spacedesk.net/ and connect to the IP address of your primary machine.
    Keep in mind that this HTML5 VIEWER is much slower than our native apps on Android, iOS and Windows.
    This is due to technical limitation of HTML5/Javascript.

    Primary machine uses 23 inch 2k(2560 x 1440) monitor. I am able to dock keyboard on main monitor. I’m using extend mode, disabling main monitor when I connect to virtual monitor.

    Like I mentioned earlier, it works on competing virtual monitor software, docking and conforming to size of screen. With Spacedesk keyboard only floats and doesn’t scale in size as it does in competing software. The small floating keyboard is much smaller at max size in spacedesk as compared to the other app. In the attached images keyboard has same system settings, but sizes are much different.

    We are running Mawi devives with spacedesk acting as the go between. We thought we were having pc issues as we kept disconnecting from spacedesk then we would be reconnecting to server or would have connected display off. We then replaced the NIC card and the cabling between devices. This didnt do anything. We then spoke with MAWI support and updated spacedesk both on the server and on the clients side (apk). Again this did not fix the issue. We then replaced the PC with one we had in storage but the issue is still the same.
    IS there something we can do to help narrow down what is causing these issues and it seems when we get the spacedesk x10 no driver error the issues begin and we loop for a while.

    I have logs but cant make much out of them.

    So I am not able to rotate the iPad to portrait mode I have tried auto rotate in the spacedesk settings in the iPad and turn it off. Windows 10 is greyed out in the display options. So not sure what other options to try any help would be appreciated.

    I have windows 10 and have iPad mini 2 and when I connect I am not able to change the rotation of the tablet. It’s stuck in landscape mode. The windows display setting to rotate the monitor is greyed out. I have auto rotation on inside the settings of spacedesk client on the iPad. Any help would appreciated.

    FYI:
    We were able to somehow reproduce a keyboard issue where the soft keyboard will only appear on the first activation using the On-Screen-menu, but after the next call out of the keyboard it won’t appear anymore.
    Do you observe the same pattern or is it a different one?
    Also, please check if the keyboard function will go back to normal once you downgrade/use a lower version of Fleksy keyboard as the issue is reproduceable in version 11 only, we tried using a much lower version (version 10) and it works.

    Hi @wlioi,

    upon investigating the issue, we found out that there is a similar bug reported in the quicker forum which pertains to troublesome left click function while quicker is turned on. it has been a known issue in quicker community for a while now, https://getquicker.net/QA/Question/10527 which means spacedesk drivers might not be the culprit afterall.

    however, we can suggest this following workaround:
    1. please check your version of quicker and update it to the latest version.
    2. you can try to disable all mouse rules you have created which can be found in advanced mouse trigger settings.

    After re-reading your last post I went back and found a Windows MEMORY.DMP file but it is too large to attach at 1.35gb. and even zipped it’s 215mb. But I can’t find a minidump file as you asked for originally and although there is a Windows/WDF folder, it is empty as I noted above.

    Could you please try to update your AMD Radeon HD 6520G graphics adapter. The current driver version date is still 2015.
    You can download the latest driver from their website – https://www.amd.com/en/support.

    After updating please check if this fixes the black screen issue.

    Can you please try to add spacedeskService in your McAfee Firewall settings (and in 360 Total Security if setting is available)?
    Just open your McAfee Firewall settings, click Ports and System Services then click the Add button.
    System Service Name: spacedeskService
    Local TCP/IP Ports: 28252
    Local UDP Ports: 28252

    Then check if the disconnect issue after 1 minute will still happen.
    If it happens, could you please send us the diagnostic logs of the issue upon disconnect. Just follow the steps below:
    – open spacedesk Driver Console -> Diagnostics
    – if Debug View is not available, please click the download button first
    – switch Diagnostic Collection ON (make sure to click Yes in the User Account Control box to proceed)
    – try to connect your viewer app and reproduce the display off issue (until the error code appears in the viewer app)
    – switch Diagnostic Collection OFF
    – click Save All Information button

    Could you please try to change the current network profile of your primary machine to Private?
    Just go to Windows Settings -> Network & Internet -> Properties, under Network profile, select Private, then check if your viewer can discover now your primary machine.

    Also, please try with the most recent spacedesk Driver v1.0.50 available on the website – https://forum.spacedesk.net
    Then check if you still have the same issue.

    Hi @dmanz56,

    Strange.. if it’s a system crash there’s should be a dump file in C:\Windows\Minidump or a C:\Windows\MEMORY.dmp.
    If it’s a user mode driver crash there should be a dump file/s in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\WDF.
    Dump files are automatically generated and will not be deleted unless users manually deleted it.

    In the diagnostics you sent, I only noticed a recurring application crash of Pilot2ATC_2021.exe
    Maybe this is the one crashing upon spacedesk disconnect and causes the PC to freeze.
    Have tried waiting for the freeze? Maybe it can recover after a few minutes?

    My phone (Samsung Galaxy S10 lite 2020 2.84GHz 7.8GB RAM 128GB ROM 2280×1080) has this problem too, and I sincerely have no clue on how to fix this

    Could you please try to run SFC Command in your Windows 10 machine?
    This will scan and repair any corrupted files in your machine.
    Just run Command Prompt as Administrator then type the command: sfc /scannow

    Hi all,

    I am a new user here and really like the software so far. It works over my wifi connection and over the usb tether through NDIS. As has been stated, the connection is faster and more stable through usb tether, and I would really prefer to use that option.

    My problem is that every time I connect the USB from fire tablet to windows 10, the adapter reappears in windows with a new ip address. I have tried everything I could think of to set that connection with a static ip so that the tablet can connect automatically, but nothing I have tried has worked. Everything has either made the tablet client unable to detect the connection, or unable to connect to it. I even temporarily disabled windows firewall when the ip was seen and unable to connect. Still no good.

    I have been trying to piece together how ndis works all day. Lots of searching google and youtube and this forum. I am stumped. I can’t even figure out what it uses to generate its seemingly random ip addresses. My normal network ip addresses are 192.168.1.xxx. the NDIS addresses I get are 192.168.xxx.xxx.

    Any help figuring this out would be greatly appreciated

    Hi Lea! Thank you for your prompt response.
    1. I tried to do your 1st set of instructions and I was able to save 6 files in total. Please see attached.
    2. The viewer/client was not disconnected in the spacedesk Driver Console before I switch the diagnostic collection to OFF.
    3. I added it in my Mcafee firewall and my viewer/client cannot detect my primary machine (server). I tried manually adding it but still cannot detect.

    Thanks for sending the diagnostic logs.
    Based on the setup logs, the spacedeskService is marked for deletion, which requires a system reboot to complete the uninstallation of older spacedesk version.
    Could you please uninstall first the current spacedesk then reboot your machine, and try again installing.

    We understand that you’re having trouble docking windows touch keyboard on your screen, Windows 11 has removed the dock/undock option for Devices with 18+ inches screen from its early versions and probably up to the latest. please refer to https://content.techgig.com/technology/microsoft-says-goodbye-to-these-old-features-in-windows-11/articleshow/83918235.cms
    On the other hand, may we ask what screen size does your primary machine (Windows 11 PC) have? what is its native screen resolution? were you able to dock windows touch keyboard with only your main monitor and without any virtual monitor connections? and lastly, what mode were you using when trying out the keyboard on spacedesk and other related software, extend or duplicate mode?

    Hi. I currently have Spacedesk Windows 11 64-bit msi version 1.0.50 in my laptop (primary) and version 1.59 in my ipad air 4. I tried reinstalling but I still get the same issues. The max I can connect and use my laptop is just 50 secs then it disconnects. Please help.

    Good afternoon,

    If using SpaceDesk on say 1 iPad, it works as a touch screen without issue. When introducing multiple iPads, or other tablets, it will always register the touch input on the first device, as a touch input but on any others, it acts like a mouse click (steals mouse from main window and moves cursor).

    Again, if only 1 Spacedesk device is attached, it works perfect and just registers as touch, but as soon as more are added it drags to mouse over and acts like a mouse click.

    Is there anyway around this?

    Hi, I’m trying to run the spacedesk driver console on a Hyper-V virtual machine with GPU-Partitioning enabled.

    It works fine when connecting extra displays to the VM machine using the Spacedesk Viewer app and them working as extended displays.
    As soon as i create a videowall and attach 2 displays to the videowall, 1 of them freezes up and wont respond.
    If i un-assign the display from the videowall profile it will start working again. just won’t work in the videowall profile combining displays together.

    Any help would be appreciated.
