This issue has just been fixed. Please update to the newest most recent spacedesk Android Viewer version BETA RC 0.9.88
For further information and discussion, please look at the top posts above.
The new On-Screen-Menu for spacedesk Android Viewer had to be introduced for input needed and settings to be changed while staying connected and while showing a remote display monitor screen.
Currently:
– On-Screen-Keyboard (toggle on and off)
In the very near future:
– Audio Speaker-Output (toggle between Primary Machine and Secondary Machine)
– Zoom-in on parts of the screen and rotate screen or parts of the screen (using pinch touch gestures)
Why was this On-Screen-Menu introduced now? It had to be introduced for two reasons:
1. After the recent release of spacedesk multitouch feature, we could not use touch gestures any more to enable/disable On-Screen-Keyboard.
2. We needed to make On-Screen-Keyboard feature available on Android-TV as well. On Android-TV no touch gestures are avaialable to show/hide the On-Screen-Keyboard.
FUTURE PLAN:
Currently we are planning to keep the On-Screen-Menu exactly as it is (can be disabled and will remember its minimize state).
We just intend to add two more menu items:
– “Audio Speaker”
– “Zoom, Shift and Rotate Screen”

NEW ON-SCREEN-MENU ON ANDROID (I)
———————————————–
spacedesk Viewer version 0.9.87 for Android introduced a new On-Screen-Menu.
This version still contained two serious limitations:
– The On-Screen-Menu could not be switched off.
– The “Minimize” status was not remembered after exit.
We just fixed these two issues. A new spacedesk Viewer version 0.9.88 for Android is now available in Google Play Store. On-Screen-Menu can now be disabled in settings menu. On-Screen-Menu “Minimize” status is now remembered after exit.
THE NEW ON-SCREEN-MENU WILL STAY IN PLACE AND GROW FURTHER IN THE FUTURE.
FOR DETAIL INFORMATION, DISCUSSION AND SUGGESTIONS WE HAVE A THIS POST RIGHT BELOW:
“NEW ON-SCREEN-MENU ON ANDROID (II)”
EVERYBODY IS INVITED TO PARTICIPATE.
Hi @chriz024 and @scottorange,
Thank you very much for the feedback.
We are currently addressing this issue.
This will be fixed in the next Android version release.

Hi @laxuur,
Thanks for sending the diagnostic logs.
Based on the logs, you still have the splashtop display hook driver (lci_proxywddm) on your machine.
To remove this please run Command Prompt as Administrator, then type the command:
sc delete lci_proxywddm press enter
Reboot your primary machine then try again with spacedesk.
Hi,
I have a somewhat tricky situation whereby 2 devices needing to connect are on different subnets. I’ll try explain in detail my current network topology.
PC (spacedesk server) – 10.10.69.8/24 (Static IP)
iPad (spacedesk iOS client) – 10.10.70.14/24 (DHCP assigned)
I have a firewall application (Kaspersky) on my PC as well as a physical firewall (pfsense) controlling all my subnet traffic and rules.
I added a firewall rule for my iPad’s subnet to allow TCP Port 28252 direct to my PC. Looks like this [ Allow TCP 28252 from 10.10.70.0/24 to 10.10.69.8]. I disabled the application firewall (Kaspersky) for testing purposes so it wouldn’t cause me problems with the rules configured in pfsense.
The PC and iPad can ping each other. I also have an app called Touch Portal on the iPad which allows me to send hotkey commands to my PC, which works fine after adding a similar rule in pfsense, only this time adding 2 ports required by Touch Portal. So I know I am configuring the firewall correctly, but for some reason when I manually add the server IP address in the iPad spacedesk app, it gets stuck on “Manually adding IP: 10.10.69.8. IP validation in progress”.
Are there any other ports I need to add to make this work other than 28252?
Thanks,
Hi @nthaxton,
Yes this is possible.
In this case, you just have to install the spacedesk Driver on your Notebook, then install the spacedesk Windows Viewer app on your PC.
For further setup procedures, please check Configuration and Settings chapter in the user manual https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/#item_468.
Hi @oskar,
Thanks for sending the diagnostic logs.
Based on the logs, you have the splashtop hook display driver (lci_proxykmd) installed on your machine.
To remove this driver:
– run Command Prompt as admin
– type: sc delete lci_proxykmd then press enter
– reboot your primary machine then try again with spacedesk
Hi @oskar,
This error message indicates that an incompatible display driver is present on your machine.
Do you have any of these mentioned products (splashtop/Duet Display/Fresco Logic)?
If yes, please uninstall, reboot then try again with spacedesk.
If the above suggestion did not help, could you please send us the diagnostic logs for this issue?
– open the spacedesk Console window app by clicking the spacedesk tray icon on your task bar’s notification area
– click the Diagnostics on the left side panel
– check “with Debug view” box
– click START Collecting Logs button
– connect your viewer app and reproduce the issue
– click STOP Collecting Logs button
– click Save All Information button
– saving all information will take a few seconds, then please send us the whole folder which contains all the diagnostic logs collected
Please right-click the folder -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file on your next reply.

hi lea,
after digging a little deeper into this issue all seems to be a local problem here with my machine. i have a software called WinSize2. it recognizes a certain programs window size and position and restores size and position in case the program does not do this by itself. somehow i have accidently configured WinSize2 to maximize the spacedesk server about windows. after deleting this setting in WinSize2 everything is fine.
issue can be closed. sorry for that.
best regards
peter
Hi @el_viejo,
ps: i can share screenshots if required.
Yes, please, thanks!
Then we can try to reproduce and analyze/fix this issue.
Hi @eaueouaeou,
Thank you very much for pointing this out. We will improve this in our next spacedesk release.
In our spacedesk Console we will add an option “Automatic start upon System Boot”.
You cannot find spacedesk on Windows Start up because it’s a Windows Service Executable. Like all other Windows Service Executables you can modify a “Start Up Type” (automatic or manual) through Windows Service Control panel (just run “services.msc”). See screenshot attached.

Hi @laxuur,
Based on your dxdiag info, you still have an outdated AMD graphics adapter.
Could you please try to update it first through https://www.amd.com/en/support, then try again with spacedesk.
Looking forward to your feedback.
Hello there, i hope you are having a great day.
Today i tried installing spacedesk, but i get the error 2-5 info: 0-5, i dont have splashtop xdisplay installed and i have dxdiag file right below.

Please check the instruction manual how to configure the extended monitor.
https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/#item_469
Configurations can be:
– Desktop Duplication (mirroring)
– Desktop Extension
– Show on primary only
– Show on secondary only (which seems to be your configuration)
Hola, cuando me conecto con la tablet, la pantalla principal del pc deja de mostrar imagen i la imagen pasa a la tablet.
Hi @theonlymalu,

Please save all requested files in one folder, then right-click -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file on your next reply.
Hi @zorpheus,
If the issue is not caused by driver expiration, can you tell us how did you fix it?
Nevermind, somehow i fixed it, thanks alot for the help too!
Well, I updated SpaceDesk and still in black and white,Is there something else that could be done to fix it?

Yes, your observation is true in a way. Some versions DO NOT work with each other. Very often however, different versions also DO work with each other. We try to keep them compatible whenever we can. Still it is only safe when always keeping newest most recent version on both sides.
The reason: spacedesk is still free and we still don’t have the budget to work on “automatic update” feature and on comprehensive release management. Currently we still focus our development capacities on new core features. The next one soon to come: Audio playback support
Does iPad work with windows desktop. I don’t understand I typed my IP address and it said IP validation processing but nothing happens. Do I need a Microsoft tablet. All the version are up to date. I have AMD 6800xt card with update version. I’m using wifi for my internet. My display setting is set to extended display already . So what am I doing wrong.
Hi @zorpheus,
When spacedesk expires, it will continue to work but will show black and white display (same as your screenshot).
Please make sure that you have an updated spacedesk Driver (v1.0.23) from https://forum.spacedesk.net.
Hi @stern,
Fix for the BSOD upon pen input (in iPad) is now available in the most recent spacedesk Driver v1.0.22, please try it.
Looking forward to your feedback.

So – trying the Win10 Hotspot as the wifi connection to the tablet…. it does work, and with the adjusted ‘timeout’ I’m not getting the flicker of any windows open on the tablet screen jumping back to the main screen if the connection dies.
However – mouse response (and keyboard response) times on the tablet are still ‘slow as the molasses in winter’. It’s almost unusable and makes the whole exercise pointless.
For something that is supposed to ‘just work’, and in the past DID ‘just work’, it’s rather disappointing to say the least. 🙁
Hi @raya2,
Thanks for sending the diagnostic logs.
Based on the debug view logs, spacedesk has detected an incompatible display driver present on your primary machine.
Do you have either one of these software? Splashtop, Duet Display, Fresco Logic ?
spacedesk cannot coexist with these products, please remove it, reboot then try again with spacedesk.
Hi @alimot,
We just managed to reproduce the same problem on our side.
We will first fix it in our Windows 7 Viewer app.
It will be released on the website today or tomorrow (version 0.9.34).
Then please try out and let us know if this work for you.
Thank you for your kind reply. I really appreciate it, especially since the app is free.
Unfortunately, I’ve installed the version form the store but the viewer says “Display: Off” and it shows a black screen.
The server thinks it’s working as it extends the display but there is only a black screen on the client.
Any idea what the problem might be?
Thanks and kind regards.
Hi @rmbdes,
On the multiple displays drop down menu, just select “Extend these displays”.
For assistance, please also check the Configuration and Settings -> Windows PC (Primary Machine) chapter in our user manual https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/.
pc and ipad sharing the same screen, ipad is not extended screen, how can i solve this?

This resolution limit only exists in the old spacedesk Viewer for Windows 7.
Please try the new spacedesk Viewer for Windows from the Microsoft Store.
There you should be able to define any custom resolution up to the native resolution.
The application did not exit. Connection over the network is successful. It is currently showing a black screen (“Display Off). This can have two reasons:
1. Is the additional display detached from Windows Desktop? Please check Windows Display Control Panel. If detached, then it can be attached for mirroring the existing display or extending the desktop by this additional display.
2. Possibly an error has occured. Maybe an incompatible product (e.g. splashtop WiredX Display) is installed?
Please also check chapter “Troubleshooting” in the instruction manual https://spacedesk.net/user-manual/
hi when i click on the IP address of my computer i have immediately exits the application.
I’d like to use a Surface Studio 2 as a second monitor from time to time but the highest resolution I can see from settings is:
4096 x 2160
Is there anyway to support the 4500×3000 resolution?
Also, where does spacedesk save the configuration? Is there any way to edit the configuration file with a text editor?
Thanks,
Ali
Hi @bbkrista,
Based on spacedeskDiag.txt that you’ve sent, our diagnostics collection already created the 2021-11-20-172957-spacedeskRuntimeDiagnostics folder in C:\Users\Administration\Downloads\.
Please send us this 2021-11-20-172957-spacedeskRuntimeDiagnostics folder (zipped) to further analyze the issue.
Please check the instruction manual https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/
Look at the chapters below

Running Windows 10? Then the problem is usually caused by splashtop Wired XDisplay.
Uninstalling it will fix the problem.
spacedesk mouse can always be stuck due to network dropouts (better network connection -> less dropouts).
In addition to this, there are situations when after being stuck first, the remoted mouse is still trailing.
The reason: spacedesk mouse remoting network protocol is still lacking flow control.
Fix is not expected any time soon (development is currently busy with higher prioritized issues and topics).
Thus the only quick fix: Improve network performance and eliminate router. Routers always cause lags and hangs. Performance always improves when routers are circiumvented (either by connecting through WiFi-Hotspot or direct cable connection).
from what I understand it’s running Android and you can install apks to it.
I found this video helpful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKXJ8PYkdf4
Seems they use Google Chrome as well on that device.
So you could try the spacedesk app via installing its apk and/or get a browser and try to connect via HTML.
Would like to know what worked for you if so.
I have a GTX 1050 Ti graphics card and the driver version is 496.76 .
can i have a blue screen?

Hello;
I’m having this ” Error: Duet Display, Splashtop, Fresco Logic, etc Driver Detected – Incompatible Display Hook Driver! ” on my computer and on the android samsung s6 I am using it says: Error Code 2-5.
How can I fix this?
Hi….After I bought a USB Type C dock driven by DisplayLink innovation for my PC, a major issue inferred: each time I need to utilize Duet Display with my iPad Pro or Twomon USB with my Pixel C, I would need to uninstall the DisplayLink driver before I plug any of my tablets. At the point when I return home and attempt to associate with my dock, I would need to go through the arrangement cycle once more. This is only a major burden for individuals like me.

Press the 3 dots in the upper right corner > Input devices > enable/disable as you need.
Ah – that’s good, thanks for pointing me at that.
Question:
The USB tethering can not be setup as “private” network. Please help me understand why that is important since you are using a cable between the 2 devices. What is the concern?
I believe that it’s what is preventing spacedesk on the tablet seeing the spacedesk client on the laptop. It just ‘doesn’t work’.
In Win10 networking it appears that the ‘public’/’private’ settings on networks allow differing things to pass through the connection. (I can only comment on what I’ve found and experienced, I’m NOT a network person at all).
About mouse speed, maybe change/reduce the client setting for “Quality / performance” a bit to see if that performs better.
Also you could use your Win10 hotspot functionality to have the shortest possible connection between devices to not have to go through the Access point which could be a limitation.
I’m already at 30fps and approx 60% for image quality.
Will try the hotspot idea.
Hello Lea,
I think you misunderstood.
I tried to explain, that
– it is working with USB tethering, so no conflict here from what I can tell
– it still is not working while I am using Wifi
Did you had any chance to check the uploaded dxdiag file you requested?
I really would love to see it working with Wifi.

Environment:
PC: Dell Laptop using Windows 10 Pro v21H1
Tablet: Sony Xperia Z4 (SGP771), Android 7.1.1 (highest available for hardware)
Connection:
WiFi
(USB tether is not reliable due to Windows10 inability to assign tethered network connection as private network, despite best efforts)
Drivers:
Latest drivers downloaded from spacedesk.net within last week.
Android App uninstalled and reinstalled on tablet within last week.
Issues:
1) Regular disconnection issues, more than once an hour.
2) Mouse speed on 2nd monitor is far slower than on main monitor, and thus unreliable.
3) Touchscreen unreliability* means that mouse control on 2nd monitor is unreliable.
* Xperia Z4 tablet does not have oleophopic screen and thus deposits on screen can affect touchscreen by causing phantom inputs.
Suggestions:
1) RE Issue 3: Include option on Android App to disable touchscreen inputs.
2) RE Issue 2: Include some means of adjusting mouse speed on 2nd monitor
3) RE Issue 1: Improve reliability of connection. This Issue did NOT exist 6 months ago.
Please advise on methods to improve reliability of connection.

Hi @leopq,
Could you please run devmgmt.msc, click View tab -> Show hidden devices and View by Connections.
Then check if you find any spacedesk devices, please right-click uninstall it, especially spacedesk virtual HID device.
If there’s any devices underneath it, please delete them first before the spacedesk virtual HID device.
If the above suggestion does not help, please go to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed-cca7d1b6-65a9-3d98-426b-e9f927e1eb4d and download the troubleshooter.
