  • Hi @Vale,

Unfortunately, it is not possible to switch your iPad screen to your Windows PC.
spacedesk Driver only support PC/Laptop with Windows 8.1/10/11 operating system which means You can only use your iPad as a secondary machine.

    Hi @george9812,

Just to be clear: Are you able to see your server name/IP consistently using an ethernet cable from the viewer until now or did the viewer eventually lose the ability to detect the server after some time?

For further analysis, please send us the diagnostic info of your primary machine.
Just open the spacedesk Driver Console app -> Diagnostics -> click the “Save All Information” button.

PS: Saving all information will take a few seconds, then please send us the whole folder which contains all the diagnostic logs collected.
Please right-click the folder -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file in your next reply.

    Hi @s-kourisgmail-com,

Unfortunately, the spacedesk Windows 10 Viewer is exclusively available for download through the Microsoft Store only. however, you can instead use HTML5 viewer or download spacedesk Windows 7 viewer as a substitute which can be found directly on our download page.

Hi I have some issue accessing the Microsoft Store in an old tablet that cannot take all windows 10 updates (i tried the Microsoft site recommendations and still doesn’t work) and I need the viewer software. Are there alternative locations to download the viewer?
    Thanks

Done. But look at this interesting thing. Yesterday I managed to connect via USB. Today, when I did what you suggested, it connected normally via Wi-Fi. It stayed connected for about 1 minute, then dropped and I couldn’t connect again.

In reply to: WiFi without internet

    Hi @jdfnnl,

Yes, you can actually use spacedesk via a Wi-Fi direct connection.
Please refer to the Performance Tuning -> Wi-Fi Direct chapter in the user manual https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/#item_510.

    Hi @george9812,

There are various reasons for network discovery issues (e.g., Third party firewall, VPN, etc.), please check the Troubleshooting – Network Connection chapter in the user manual. https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/#item_489

on the other hand, if your secondary device is Android, you can also try connecting via a direct Android USB cable for a much stable and better performance. Please refer to the chapter Direct USB Cable Connection (Android only) in the user manual https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/#item_11689.

I’ve tried to connect a Lenovo Tab P11 Pro to Win 11 laptop via a direct connection, using a usb-c to ethernet adapter, a crossover adapter and an ethernet cable. Unfortunately, spacedesk doesn’t see my connection.

As a matter of fact, the tablet has seen the ethernet cable just after I set a static ip.

    Hi.

I have been using SD for about a month now with my Lenovo tablet. It has been working super reliably all this time.

I use 4 monitors, the tablet makes a 5th monitor in my workstation.

Has been proven very useful. I use it to:

    – Have explorer.exe always there. Now that Win11 explorer has tabs it is quite cool to have a dedicated screen for that.

    – Display video when I score sounds effects and music for them.

    Hi @Astrograph,

You can do this in videowall by manually editing the position and resolution of your two viewer machines.
We suggest the workaround steps below.

The initial setup will be something like this:
-Screen #1 = Main monitor (1920 x 1080) <-assuming this is your main monitor's resolution. -Screen #2 = spacedesk viewer 1 (1920×1080). -Screen #3 = spacedesk viewer 2 (1920×1080). -Wall 1 = default (3840x1080) <- feel free to use your desired resolution. 1. connect your 2 spacedesk viewers to your main monitor. 2. Open spacedesk Driver Console and enable Videowall mode 3. Assign all clients connected to Video Wall. - You will see on Connections -> Active (2 connected), click viewer 1, then click the Videowall tab in the right panel
    – In Wall Index box, enter any value e.g. “1”, then it will create a Video Wall1 underneath CONTROL
    – Then right-click to viewer 1, then select “Assign to Wall 1”
    4. change the height of wall 1 to 1080 to match the height of your viewer 1
    5. click viewer 2 and assign it to wall 1
    6. set its X position to ‘1920’ to put it beside the viewer1.

Question “does it work on integrated gpu? I use ryzen integrated gpu”
Answer: As long as your GPU is up to date, there should be no issues.

    Hi @trGTR,
it looks like the installation did not generate a log file..If there’s no spacedeskSetup.log file generated, then it means the MSI installer hangs before spacedesk driver installation even started.
In this case, we will request for the msi trace (msiexec.exe) of the spacedesk MSI installer.
For assistance, please download the spacedeskMsiTraceGenerate.zip here:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/vr17lj6n63k52rh/2022_spacedeskMsiTraceGenerate.zip?dl=0
    – extract the zip file
    – copy the most recent spacedesk MSI installer (spacedesk_driver_Win_10_64_v1046_BETA.msi) inside the folder then click the get_trace.bat
    – the script will prompt you to enter the MSI file name then press enter
    – it will run the spacedesk installer until you encounter the error
    – please send the spacedeskmsi_trace.txt generated inside the folder together with the dxdiag file and setupapi.dev.log file located in C:\Windows\INF

    Hi @K1000,

Could you please check the following:
    1. Check your WiFi router settings if it has client isolation enabled.
This setting prevents direct communication between connected devices/computers.
    2. Do you have VPN (Virtual Private Network) active? If yes, please disable it.
    3. Check on your iOS Viewer Settings -> Privacy -> Local Network, if spacedesk is on the list and enabled?

I restarted my PC but not working either. And, regarding the problem of showing captcha, F5 is not working for me. I tired to F12 to force showing the captcha but failed. F12 works for registering and I believe people cannot register now by the normal way. The ‘confirm your password’ block is not showing so people will always get ‘password doesn’t match’ error message.

    Hi @lujsilva,
To connect via spacedesk HTML5 Viewer on your WinRT 8.1 tablet, just open a web browser e.g. Google Chrome, then go to https://viewer.spacedesk.net/ and connect to the IP address of your primary machine.

If spacedesk HTML5 Viewer page is not loading, please try to clear your cache in the web browser.

Hi, I have the same issue, cannot detect the main server and found it very inconvenient.

Would it because of server not update enough? e.g. my Driver is beta version 1.0.17 downloaded long time ago, whilst Viewer is just downloaded from the website.Thanks.

    Hi @keeg1483j,

For clarification, did you get blue screen of death (BSOD) crash during spacedesk installation? or upon viewer connect?

For further analysis, could you please send us the following:
    – run dxdiag.exe on your primary machine, click “Save All Information”, save the output file (dxdiag.txt)
    – most recent dump file (*.dmp) of your BSOD with spacedesk which is located in C:\Windows\minidump folder.
    – spacedeskSetup.log file located in C:\Users\Public
    – setupapi.dev.log file located in C:\Windows\INF

Please save all requested files in one folder, then right-click -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file in your next reply.

By the way, we moved your post to a separate topic to avoid confusion.

    Hi @DamDam,
Can you further elaborate on your issue regarding duplicating/projecting Display?
    1. Is there no option for ‘duplicate’ in your PC settings at all? or…
    2. do you want to just project your secondary machine to multiple screens?

If #1 is the case, can you please check if your primary graphics adapter is updated and has WDDM version 2.0-above?
You can check the WDDM version by opening dxdiag.exe.
-Search “dxdiag” on the search menu, or simply do Windows key + R, then type “dxdiag.”
    -Then click the Display tab.
Check the “Driver Model” box underneath the “Drivers” box.

You can also refer to the chapter “Windows 11/10 Desktop Duplication (mirror) option not available” in the user manual https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/#item_482

If #2, please refer to this topic, which covers duplication across multiple screens.

In reply to: Question about USB

    spacedesk Marcel
    Keymaster

Yes, correct! spacedes Driver Console cannot YET switch OFF Local Area Network (wireless and cable). In one of the very next spacedesk releases this will be fixed. Then you will be able to switch LAN connections ON/OFF independently of the USB connections. In the meantime you can still clearly recognize if the connection is over USB or LAN. Just look underneath CONNECTIONS branch in Driver Console.

A USB connection looks like this (contains the term USB):
    SM-G991B \\?\USB#VID_18D1&PID_2D01&MI_00#6&164e7346&bc&0000#{09daef26-7ee9-4bfe-a046-a8a4ea91a2cc}

A network connection looks like this (contains an IP Address):
    SM-F936B 192.168.10.113:13978

Thanks also for the hint that spacedesk Driver Console does not remember Window position. We might consider adding this.

Greetings! The topic has probably already been covered, but I’ll ask anyway. Is it possible to project the screen of a secondary monitor connected to a computer to an Android device? If not, is there a possibility to implement the selection whether we want the projection of the primary or secondary screen of the computer on the Android device? Windows 11 does not offer 2 and 3 screen mirroring so if anyone has any ideas….

    1. You have a third party antivirus software (G DATA Security Client) on your primary machine, please make sure to add spacedesk in the exception list to allow incoming and outgoing connection.
    2. There are 2 network adapters currently active in your primary machine, Telekom.de 2 (Mobilfunk) and emuench.local(WLAN).

    Hi @user-758487987,
It’s possible that your main monitor display got detached.

    Please try the suggestions below:
    1. Please check if you can still discover your primary machine while still in black screen. If yes, can you please try to reconnect the spacedesk viewer and check if it will reattach you main monitor display.

    2. Try to blindly attach the main display using display switch. Just press the Windows logo key + P hotkey maybe a few times to try to switch to desktop extension or duplication. For assistance, please check the “Configuration and Settings > Windows Driver (Primary Machine) > Desktop Extension or Desktop Duplication (mirror) settings in Display Switch” chapter in the user manual – https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/#item_471

    Greetings!

    My issue:
While using MSFS 2020, the “glass cockpit” instruments, (the “glass screens”), are too small for me to see on my monitor, making aircraft with them impossible to fly.

    Further issue:
Though it is possible to buy external instrument displays, (and many people have bought them to build impressive cockpits!), the cost is prohibitive for me, being retired and on a relatively modest income.

Several users recommended various solutions, among them being Spacedesk.

After trying several, I found Spacedesk to be exactly what I needed. I could take a couple of older, (and hence obsolete), Android tablets, put Spacedesk on them, and Voila! – I have the expanded display capability I need. (See attached screen shot)

Ref: The forum article describing my setup
    https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/post-your-cockpit-pictures-here/125306/1587

I really appreciate the ability to use Spacedesk without onerous licensing fees, (though I would not mind being able to buy them a couple of beers and a pizza or two), and what questions I have had, (the software virtually runs itself with minimal configuration), were answered promptly and courteously.

Perhaps there will be the occasional issue that pops up, but I am confident that Datronicsoft and their user community will be able to handle things as they have done before.

Thanks again for a wonderful piece of software!

    Jim.

The two above answers have some limitations (see 1+2 below).

    1. Lea’s answer is correct but it needs spacedesk Video Wall option enabled.
Video Wall mode has slightly less performance than regular mode.

    2. DennisW87 is talking about hardware graphics adapters. I doubt that this is relevant here.
spacedesk is all about adding USB or networked displays without any graphics adapter hardware.

    3. The ulimate answer: Windows actually does not support mirroring more than two displays.
However, you can use the trick below:
=> Go to spacedesk server window and click “Clear All Display Settings” on menu
=> Connect up to 3 spacedesk viewer and make sure that all viewers are in extension mode
=> Press “Windows key + P” combination, then select “Duplicate”
PS: This will only work if your primary machine is Windows 10 or 11 and has latest graphics adapter
supporting WDDM 2.0-above driver model (you can check it by running dxdiag.exe).

Glad to discuss this a bit more in detail below:

    1. Game stuttering probably doesn’t originate from difference in frame rate. Probably it rather comes from game and spacedesk encoding competing for CPU resources.

    2. Framerate cannot easily be increased because spacedesk is using CPU encoding for each frame (this applies to both USB and network connection). CPU load would increase and even latency might increase since encoding would possibly take more time.

    3. Hardware encoding by spacedesk would be prerequisite for increasing the framerate. Even without increasing the frame rate it might be the solution for the above named problem. Even at the existing frarate the stuttering might decrease if the game has enough CPU resources available (not taken away by spacedesk CPU encoding any more).

Now the big question: When will spacedesk support hardware encoding?
The answer: No specific scheduly yet…

Yes, it is possible to duplicate your screen to two additional displays so that all three monitors show the same screen.

To do this, you will need to use a display splitter or a graphics card that supports multiple displays. Once you have the necessary hardware, you can connect the displays to your computer and configure the display settings in Windows 10 to duplicate your screen to all three displays.

In Windows 10, go to Settings > System > Display, and then click on the “Multiple displays” dropdown menu. From there, select “Duplicate these displays” to duplicate your screen to all connected displays.

Need more informaiton must replay to me.

    Hi @peter-br,

spacedesk is a multi-monitor app that creates virtual display screens.

You can duplicate your main monitor screen to multiple spacedesk viewers connected, just that Windows Display Control Panel/Settings user interface does not support it. This applies to spacedesk and all other displays.

We suggest the workaround steps below to mirror your main monitor to all spacedesk displays.
    1. connect your 3 spacedesk viewers, so the setup will be something like this:
    — Screen #1 – main monitor (1920×1080)
    — Screen #2 – spacedesk viewer 1 (1920×1080)
    — Screen #3 – spacedesk viewer 2 (1920×1080)
    — Screen #4 – spacedesk viewer 3. (1920×1080)

    2. Open spacedesk Driver Console and enable Videowall mode
    3. Assign all clients connected to Video Wall.
    — You will see on Connections -> Active (2 connected), 2 spacedesk clients connected, click one of them, then click the Videowall tab in the right panel
    — In Wall Index box, enter any value e.g. “1”, then it will create a Video Wall1 underneath CONTROL
    — Then right-click the other spacedesk clients below, then select “Assign to Wall1” and also change its dimension too
    4. Change dimension of Video Wall1, by clicking it underneath CONTROL, set the Size (Width:Height) to 1920 : 1080
    5. Open Windows Display Settings, and you will see an extended display (this is the videowall 1), switch it to Duplicate the main display.
You can do it via Display switch (Windows logo + P hotkey) then select Duplicate.

    Hi @el_viejo,

Update: We were able to reproduce the issue on our side.
Based on our observation and traces you provided, the random disconnect happens when there’s no continuous screen update on spacedesk screen, particularly with Windows 10 Viewer app and iOS Viewer app.

In the meantime, to prevent the disconnect just make sure that there’s a continuous screen update on the viewer screen, maybe open a task manager and put it on the spacedesk viewer screen.
Then let us know if this works for you.

Fix for this issue will be released by tomorrow.
We will inform you as soon as the new spacedesk Driver is available on the website.

I can not seem to connect via wi-fi and I’ve set it to Private
    PC is windows 11
Tablet it Amazon Fire HD 10 Plus
Both devices are on the same network and I’ve tried adding manualy, but it just stays on IP-Validation on progress…
THe USB does also not work. As soon as I turn the USB option on, Windows says “USB device not recognised”

Currently, I have a Huawei Matepad 11 with Armony OS (Android Modified); However, it has not been possible to use the screen sharing function via USB, since by network generates much delay, is there any way to enable this works for Huawei devices.

Thank you very much for your app

I remain attentive to your response.
