Hi @indianium,
Did you notice any error notification on the primary machine?
For assistance, please also check the troubleshooting chapters of our user manual https://spacedesk.net/user-manual.
Hi @albertobaymagmail-com,
Please try the following:
– delete C:\Users\Public\spacedeskSetup.log
– reboot your machine
– follow the steps on Manual Uninstall (Troubleshooting Only) from our user manual
Looking forward to your feedback.
I can´t install the new version of spacedesk. Whem I start windows, the version 0989 is installed. So i try to uninstall it from Control Panel. A instalattion process begins but never ends. I restart the windows and the old version is still installed.
What can i do ?
spacedesk versions v1.0.25 to v1.0.28 might have caused side effects on Hyper-V based virtualization including products like WSL, Virtual Box, etc.
The problem is fixed in version v1.0.29
If your system is affected, please use the latest spacedesk Driver and reinstall the missing hyper-v virtualization infrastructure driver by following the steps below:
1. Go to device manager -> Action -> add legacy hardware.
2. Choose Option “Select hardware manual from list” in the wizard
3. Choose “System devices” in the list
4. Choose “Microsoft” in vendors
5. Choose “Microsoft hyper-v virtualization infrastructure driver” in models
6. Follow the wizard to finish the installation and restart the computer
Yes, we are aware of this. It would be a great feature to make the render adater configurable. Since spacedesk is free and development is driven by business customers, we will implement as soon as a business customer will pay for it. Currently we have no such request from any of our business customers.
This problem is fixed in Beta RC v1.0.29
If your system is affected, please look at this post above “WSL2 not starting after spacedesk installation”. It shows how the situation can be fixed.
I can’t say exactly, I had to uninstall Spacedesk in order to get Windows to understand that there wasn’t an extra monitor and get Teams back onto a visible desktop.
But it was likely to be up to date, I’ve been having other issues with Spacedesk recently (mostly slow response times)
I will wait until SpaceDesk updates the software so as not to trigger this Hyper-V fault. I don’t currently have a machine I can test this workaround. I don’t know what else gets disturbed within the operating system.
A VM I use under Oracle’s Virtual Box now constantly Blue Screens Windows 10 after I’ve I encountered the buggy SpaceDesk beta, but it’s something I can live with.
So, for the people who have a dead Hyper-V and WSL installations, has this workaround brought it all back to life?

Hi @nosotrospapaya,
Thanks for checking.
Back to device manager, after checking the “Show hidden devices” + “Devices by connection”, can you find several hidden HID Keyboard Device and HID-compliant touch screen?
If there’s any, please try to right-click -> Uninstall all of it.
Then check if you can now uninstall the spacedesk virtual HID device.
Had the same problem. Not just WSL. Hyper-V breaks as well as Oracle Virtual Box. All virtualisation tools seem to be compromised by spacedesk_driver_Win_10_64_v1027_BETA.
I was lucky I had a system restore point before I installed spacedesk_driver_Win_10_64_v1027_BETA. Simply uninstalling SpaceDesk does not fix Hyper-V and related software components.

I have identified a major problem with spacedesk_driver_Win_10_64_v1027_BETA where when installed kills and corrupts Hyper-V, Virtual Machine Platform and Windows Sub-system for Linux fail to start. Oracle VM comes up with an error that states the Virtual Machine Platform is not installed when it is.
I can’t determine where the trigger of the problem lies apart from installing spacedesk_driver_Win_10_64_v1027_BETA.msi.
I have had to uninstall the SpaceDesk Windows driver and software to fix the problem.

I’ve used spacedesk many times, but since I’ve upgraded my GPU, it won’t work anymore with my OnePlus 5. The device can connect and be utilized as touch input, but the screen colors are completely wrong. Tried reinstalling both on pc and mobile, does work properly with other phones. Tried reinstalling drivers after DDU, same problem persist. Tried another similar app, problem is still there, is it an issue with my phone?
First time here on the forum, don’t know what tags should I use
I have the same problem, installed Spacedesk and even after uninstalling wsl doesn’t work.
Any update?
Hi Lea,
I can’t seem to find the spacedeskservice in the services.msc. please see attached file.
Hi @marcelo-nogueira,
For further analysis, could you please send us the following:
– run dxdiag.exe on your primary machine, click “Save all information” and send us the output file
– spacedeskSetup.log file located in C:\Users\Public
– setupapi.dev.log file located in C:\Windows\INF
Please save all requested files in one folder, then right-click -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file on your next reply.
Hi @seddo_korinzu,
Could you please run the services.msc on your primary machine, then find spacedeskService and check if you can easily stop-start it.
Hi @rb,
What is the current version of spacedesk on your primary machine?
Is it the latest version 1.0.27?
Hi @nosotrospapaya,
can you tell us the previous version of spacedesk installed on your machine?
Can you also try to check if spacedeskService is still running?
Just run services.msc and find spacedeskService.
So – yesterday and this morning Spacedesk was being uncooperative again so I turned off the tablet client and the Win10 Server applet would NOT disable itself.
IE: Windows was still being told there was an additional monitor (so certain apps were stuck on that monitor and inaccessible, Teams particularly), and in the ‘Settings’ menu – the ‘Off’ swtich was not working.
This morning, reboot laptop, and the Spacedesk server is STILL telling Windows there is an additional monitor (there isn’t), and the Setting menu in the Spacedesk Server applet is completely unresponsive.
NO idea what has changed recently, but Spacedesk itself goes from bad to worse, again.
Hi @lz_zxf,
Thanks for the feedback.
It seems like this is a network discovery issue on the iOS viewer app.
Could you please check on your iPad Settings -> Privacy -> Local Network, if spacedesk is on the list and enabled?
Hello to all,
Could you please send us the diagnostic logs for this issue?
– open the spacedesk Console window app by clicking the spacedesk tray icon on your task bar’s notification area
– click the Diagnostics on the left side panel
– if Debug View is not available, please click the download button first
– switch Diagnostic Collection ON
– try connect your viewer app and reproduce the touch issue
– switch Diagnostic Collection OFF
– click Save All Information button
PS: Saving all information will take a few seconds, then please send us the whole folder which contains all the diagnostic logs collected.
Please right-click the folder -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file on your next reply.
Hi @nosotrospapaya,
Thanks for the confirmation.
Could you please try the following:
1. Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\UMDF, find spacedeskDriverHid.dll and delete or rename it (make sure to save a copy before deleting it).
2. Reboot your primary machine
3. Open Device manager and check if you can right-click Uninstall now the spacedesk virtual HID Device.
I use spacedesk just a couple of months ago. It was working well.
My laptop is a touchscreen, and the second screen is my android. Right now I can use my touchscreen at all. I tried to uninstall and install it back but it doesn’t work at all. Kindly help me to solve this please.
Hello!
I have an Ipad Mini 5. Before the recent SpaceDesk update, I used it my Ipad as a monitor through spacedesk and it worked fine with zero issues. However I tried using it yesterday and was prompted to download the newest update of the software: BETA RC VERSION 1.0.27.
However after downloading the newest update, I can’t connect to my Ipad anymore. The Ipad app says “Cannot Detect Server” and I find this strange since before the update I had no issues connecting.
Even when I tried inputing the IP manually, it’s not connecting. I even got desperate and tried the HTML Viewer but that’s not working either. It no longer works with my IP.
SpaceDesk worked perfectly with my Ipad for the previous version, now it doesn’t work anymore. And despite the PC app updating, it doesn’t seem to work with the ole software for the Ipad? What is going on?
I want to make sure this is not something bad before I try to use it.
an error has been encountered while installing spacedesk driver. installation will be stopped
Hello,
I wait a solution, because since the spacedesk problem, I can no longer work.
And solution to pass by windows update and reinstall system is not solution for me.
I fixed the issue through a Windows Update Installation (keep personal data) and didnt reinstalled spacedesk after it.
One additional informaton. Windows Sandbox also gets broken, and also got fixed by the update installation.
For me spacedesk also crashed wsl2 and even after uninstalling spacedesk, i cannot start the wsl (tried turning on/off in Windows features) throwing an error “Please enable the Virtual Machine Platform Windows feature and ensure virtualization is enabled in the BIOS.
For information please visit https://aka.ms/wsl2-install”
This is really important to me too.
I started a topic on the old forum, which was replaced by this new one about 2 weeks after.
I have 2 GPU’s, I keep the more powerful (RTX 3070 Ti) for gaming in the motherboards primary slot, however this ends up as GPU 1 in windows, This works fine for everything but spacedesk
The 2nd card, a 730GT, so some reason loads into GPU 0, however spacedesk uses this card for the wireless display, which causes stuttering.
There is no way in the BIOS to change this (check with the manufacture) (and I can see why a laptop would have problems).
So, this feature to change the GPU in use, is really important.
Hi @nosotrospapaya,
If it can’t be uninstalled, that means, there are still devices plugged underneath spacedesk virtual HID device.
Did you click the View -> Devices by connection?
I was able to delete the others but the last one, spacedesk virtual HID device I couldn’t. Please see screenshot.
Hi @nosotrospapaya,
could you please open the device manager (just run devmgmt.msc) on your primary machine, click View tab -> select Show hidden devices and Devices by connection.
Find any spacedesk virtual devices below, if you find spacedesk virtual HID device, and there are devices underneath it, please right-click uninstall all devices one by one then uninstall “spacedesk virtual HID device” last.
By the way, please delete the old spacedeskSetup.log file, the file size seems too big now.
Then try again with spacedesk installation.
Hello everyone,
For further analysis, could you please send us the diagnostic logs.
If you still have spacedesk installed on your machine, just click the spacedesk tray icon to open the spacedesk Driver Console, then go to Diagnostics page and click the “Save All Information”.
PS: Saving all information will take a few seconds, then please send us the whole folder which contains all the diagnostic logs collected.
If you already have uninstalled/removed spacedesk on your machine, then please send us the following logs:
– dxdiag file (run dxdiag.exe then click “Save All Information”)
– C:\Windows\INF\setupapi.dev.log
Save all files in one folder then, right-click the folder -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file on your next reply.
Same problem here.
Tried the usual fixes, like disable hyper-v, platform and wsl. Restart and renable, also doesn’t fix the problem.
Uninstalling spacedesk does not fix the problem.
Just let me know if you need further information about the enviroment.
Greetings

Hello Team,
The software you guys have created is amazing although if a guide could be given regarding how to change the underlying GPU used by spacedesk, it would be amazing.
Currently I have a laptop with a NVIDIA 1060 GPU although spacedesk uses the integrated GPU. I have made relevant changes in the setting for NVIDIA to be my default GPU everywhere but SPACEDESK doesn’t seem to take affect. I have attached the screenshots for the same.
Expired BETA version! Old outdated spacedesk BETA versions turn to black and white colors after December 31st 2021. Just download newest spacedesk version of Server software for Windows PC from https://forum.spacedesk.net and newest spacedesk Viewer version from App store for iOS, Android or Windows.
Hi, I have a setup – one server notebook – one desktop PC with 3 clients for 3 monitors.
When I run the 3 clients and set them up everything works flawlessly. After I press connection off on the server, everything correctly disconnects and the clients are waiting in a disconnected state. After I pres ON again clients detect that the server is online and green up, but when I click Connect on every client they crush/turn off. Any idea how to go around this?
Thank you in advance for your time and answer.
Hi @nosotrospapaya,
Could you please restart your primary machine, then try again to install the spacedesk.
If the same problem still persist, please send us the following for analysis:
– run dxdiag.exe on your primary machine, click “Save all information” and send us the output file
– spacedeskSetup.log file located in C:\Users\Public
– setupapi.dev.log file located in C:\Windows\INF
Please save all requested files in one folder, then right-click -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file on your next reply.
Hi @gazok,
You have to run 2 spacedesk Windows Viewer instances then put it on each of your monitors then connect to your primary machine.
For detailed instructions please check the Configuration and Settings chapter in the user manual https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/.
Hi @glda19,
Is spacedesk viewer connected over wireless or wired network?
Is your network stable/reliable?
Yes spacedesk Driver v1.0.27 (for Windows 10) from the website.
Hi @lz_zxf,
Could you please try to connect via HTML5 Viewer on your iPad?
Just open a web browser (e.g. Safari or Google Chrome) then go to http://viewer.spacedesk.net/, then try to connect to your primary machine’s IP address.
Hi @nosotrospapaya,
Are you installing the most recent spacedesk Driver v1.0.27 (for Windows 10) from the website?
By the way, I am using Spacedesk successfully with an Android tablet (Samsung Tab A). I am now trying to use it on my Galaxy S20 FE and am getting the error.
I have turned of wifi on the tablet, restarted the phone, restarted the windows app just to make sure. Still getting the error.
Happy to send you the logs if you can tell me where to find them.
Hello – sorry, I’m a new user jumping on this thread because I have the same issue.
I can’t seem to figure out your instructions. When I open the Spacedesk Driver console from my task bar, all I see is the Settings menu with the following items: ON, OFF, Display Settings (which goes to the windows settings) clear all display settings, video wall engine, and hide taskbar icon.
Then there is the Network interfaces (local) tab and the Network connections (remote) tab in the main window
My iPhone IOS 15.2
MY iPad iPadOS 15.2
My PC Windows 11
Spacedesk version ver:1.0.27
Hi, i always refused to use the newer spacedesk versions because the touchscreen support got worse like the screen is running in 60fps but the touchinput gets detected in 30fps what is laggy as hell. this wasnt the case on older spacedesks versions from 2020, i also noticed that when i use the spacedesk wiever beta for windows 7 with the newest driver for the host machine, the touch is fine and gets detected with 60fps but the touch isnt calibrated.
Hi @babar66,
In case of Microsoft Store issue, you can also try the spacedesk Windows Viewer for Windows 7.
This is a Windows Desktop version of the Viewer app that can also run in Windows 10/11 machine.
You can directly download the MSI installer from our website.
