    Hi @bilbo8333,
    Thanks for the video.
For the first instance viewer, once you set the first resolution of the viewer (which in your case is the native screen resolution 1680×1050) just connect first before opening another viewer instance then set your next desired screen resolution and so on until the 4th viewer instance.

    Hi
I’m a programmer. But it’s not clear to me how that dialogue box functions.
Why are there two check boxes? Can’t only native or custom be active at the same time?
Also, changing the resolutions doesn’t seem to do anything…

    Hi
    I did that.
But the problem is, all 4 of my monitors have a slightly different resolutions.
But for each instance I created of the SpaceDesk app, each one had the same resolution–of the primary monitor.
    How can I fix this?

    Hi @alejandro-k,
To further analyze this issue, please download the spacedesk diagnostic script here, then extract it.
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/z8h5llgi8c2ig3g/2021_spacedeskDiagnosticTool.zip?dl=0

Inside you will find spacedeskDiagnosticTool.cmd, just right-click it then run as administrator.
This script will start a debug view app to capture spacedesk debug traces.
On step 5 it will prompt you to reproduce the issue (by connecting the viewer app and wait for the issue to happen), make sure to do this before pressing any key to continue.
After the script is done, a folder will be created on the same folder as the script file which contains various log files that we need for analysis.
Please right-click it -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file on your next reply.

    Hi @emiszero,
Is this the first time you install spacedesk?
Or do you already have an older version of spacedesk Driver on your primary machine?

For further analysis, could you please send us the following:
    – run dxdiag.exe on your primary machine, click “Save all information” and send us the output file
    – spacedeskSetup.log file located in C:\Users\Public
    – setupapi.dev.log file located in C:\Windows\INF

Please save all requested files in one folder, then right-click -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file on your next reply.

I have a WIN 7 Desktop PC with 4 monitors (of different resolutions) hooked to it.

But I just want to use one laptop in my life.

When I come home from work, I want to push a button and EXTEND my laptop interface across the 4 monitors.

    Is this possible?

    Hello,

I’ve put my Tablet which is running spacedesk into my PC Case so I can monitor my temps.
Now the problem is, when I turn my PC off, spacedesk is going into energy saving mode, the text is not bouncing around the edges to prevent screen burn in. It’s just staying in the middle. I’m assuming this is because the screen is too small for the text. What can I do about it?
Is there anyway to just put on a black screen after my PC is off? Right now I have to open my case everytime, turn off the tablet and close it again, to repeat the whole process the next time I power up my PC and the tablet.

    Hi @armor00,

Thanks for the input and dxdiag info.
It seems that it’s a network discovery issue in our iOS viewer app which occasionally happens on some iOS device.
We don’t know yet the root cause since we still cannot reproduce this issue on our side.
We have received similar bug reports from various users before.

What do you mean by “windows device with other apps”?

I meant that My iPad is able to connect to the windows device with other apps installed on that iPad, like RD Client or Nplayer. This proves that the local network is fine.

Indeed it cannot discover the spacedesk server via the IOS app, but H5 version works without a problem.

I initially suspect that this problem is related to the iPadOS beta version, so I tried with my iPhone, which is on iOS 14.7.1, and it did not work either. But the only Apple device working so far is indeed running iPadOS 14.7.

As for the dxdiag info, I did not find a dxdiag.exe in the installation folder. I run “dxdiag.exe” directly from windows and the output file is attached.

    Thanks for your help!

When I install and run the program (android client windows 10 server) it connects absolutely fine, works perfectly, no problems at all.

    However.

A day or 2 later when I try use it again it does not find the server.

I have to restart the modem/router to get it to work again, this is not practical for my uses I do not want to have to do this.

I have tried reinstalling, resetting, switching everything on and off again, nothing works.

I can enter the IP address of the server and it will connect, with a 30 second delay or longer and it does not display correctly.

I have tried USB teathering, works great until I start a program and it resets the tablet rendering everything useless

I have looked everywhere for a fix. Tried everything I can think of
But nothing works, except restarting the router, which I again, let me be clear do not want to have to do every time I use this program

Anybody got any ideas? I love what this program does but this is irritating me to the point of just not using it anymore

Please help me find what the issue is 🙂 looking forward to hearing from you

    Cheers

    Hi @armor00,

The none-working iPad is able to discover the windows device with other apps, and manually adding IP in spacedesk always stuck at IP validation.

What do you mean by “windows device with other apps”?
..so it cannot discover the spacedesk server, right?
..so the non working iPad has the latest iOS beta version.. is it possible to downgrade it to non beta version e.g. 14.7?

For further analysis, could you please send us the dxdiag info of your primary machine?
Just run dxdiag.exe on your primary machine, click “Save all information” and send us the output file.

    Hello guys,

The resolution should be set “before connection”. If you try to change after connection is already done, buttons will be grayed out.

If that don’t solve the issue, try to execute software as administrator.

I had same issue, hope it helps.

    Hi Lea,
I can confirm, that with v1.0.11 there is no Bluescreen when the checkbox “Remote control” is checked.
BUT: remote control also does not work. When trying to click somewhere inside the viewer, nothing happens, except for that the cursor disapperars and Chrome tells me “Zum Einblenden des Cursors ESC drücken” (which translates to something like “press ESC to display the cursor”).

I’ll get back to you regarding putting Task Manager on the extended display soon as that test being performed now.

    In the meanwhile . . .

    Image quality: About 75%
Encodong colour depth: Medium colour quality, medium speed (YUV 4.2.2)
    Rendering colour depth: 16-bit

I’m going to try up the rendering colour depth to 24-bit.

Yes, the display was idle each time for a number of minutes. Don’t know exactly how long. At a guesstimate, 20 minutes.

Currently, we only allow it on HTML5 viewer.
Maybe we can consider supporting it on our windows viewer app but will not be available anytime soon.

When I use my iOS or iPadOS devices, the app constantly shows “Cannot detect Sever!”.

I tried to reinstall the server software on my windows device, but it did not fix the problem. Switch to another windows device have the same result(Android via app successful, ios via H5 successful, ios via app unable).

Can someone help me solve this problem?

My server software version is Beta 1.0.11.

    Hi @elder,
Based on your dxdiag info, you have splashtop virtual display installed on your primary machine.
On Splashtop Wired XDisplay Agent window -> Advanced, just uninstall the Virtual Display driver.
spacedesk should work now after you uninstall this driver.

    Hi,
in Chrome you can install websites as apps. By doing this the website will open in a new separate window.
When for example installing Microsoft Teams Web-UI as Chrome app, it will open in a separate window that almost looks like a native Windows App. Most importantly: without URL bar.

However, when installing viewer.spacedesk.net as Chrome app, it will open WITH an URL bar.
Would be nice, if the viewer also would open without URL bar, when installed as Chrome app.

    Hi @multi-cat,
Ah I see.. currently spacedesk can only send one keyboard input at a time, it does not support entering words as a single input.

As for the disconnection issue upon entering special characters, we tried to reproduce it here but so far we are not successful.
To further analyze this issue, could you please download the spacedesk diagnostic script here, then extract it.
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/z8h5llgi8c2ig3g/2021_spacedeskDiagnosticTool.zip?dl=0

Inside you will find spacedeskDiagnosticTool.cmd, just right-click it then run as administrator.
This script will start a debug view app to capture spacedesk debug traces.
On step 5 it will prompt you to reproduce the issue (by connecting the viewer app, send keyboard input with emojis or special characters to reproduce the disconnect issue), make sure to do this before pressing any key to continue.
After the script is done, a folder will be created on the same folder as the script file which contains various log files that we need for analysis.
Please right-click it -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file on your next reply.

I assume it’s currently on desktop extension mode.
And you want to use spacedesk for desktop duplication/mirroring, is that right?

    HI,

I previously had osbase installed, but removed it following your initial device. I can confirm I’m not using any other USB display / adapter.
I’ve included (in the attached doc) a screenshot from device manager showing the display drivers and USB drivers.
It’s not even showing ‘connected display off” any more.. it just simply won’t connect at all (note: it has definitely previously worked as I had the guy from Monitors Anywhere initially giving me advice about this and remoted into my computer to try to set up. That has since expired but now for some reason I can’t even connect to the monitors.

Note: the screens are not symmetrical, what is the impact of this (if any)?

It worked! You just made my day!

I have to say, I’ve seen many paid apps (and expensive ones) with support far worse than yours. Kudos to you!

My only suggestion is that this should really be a settings option, rather than this sort of hack.

    Hi @digitalmechanic,
Ah yes, with the latest spacedesk driver it’s a bit different now.
First, FYI the current spacedesk Driver now supports actual touchscreen input for the first viewer app only, and if you connect another viewer app it will fall back in using the old mouse touch input that you want to use.

This is the new workaround if you still want to use the mouse touch input instead of actual touch screen input.
    – connect your viewer app first
    – open the device manager then click “View” tab “Device by connection”
    – go to spacedesk Virtual Bus and expand it
    – initially you will find spacedesk Mouse and spacedesk virtual HID Device (HID Keyboard Device)
    – try to send a touch input from your viewer app and you will find another spacedesk virtual HID Device with HID-compliant touch screen underneath
    – Just right-click disable both spacedesk virtual HID Device and HID-compliant touch screen underneath it
Then you will notice on your next touch input it will now use the mouse touch input.

    Hello there!

I would like some help with regards to my iOS keyboard I’m using for input into a PC over Spacedesk.

I’m using a Brydge Pro Max+ Keyboard (iOS) connected through Bluetooth to my iPad (not pc)(see link):
https://www.brydge.co.uk/products/brydge-12-9-max-plus (very similar to magic Keyboard).

General input for letter keys and numbers works just fine, however, TAB, SPACEBAR, ENTER, BACKSPACE and ARROW KEYS don’t seem to register. I’m assuming it is because this is an iOS keyboard that the PC doesn’t recognize fully.

How can I make them work? Is there a way to map the keys or make it work? Is there a method to emulate or anything like that? I feel like I am so close to having an iPad as my main screen to my PC, but these keys don’t work and it’s a bit of a disappointment.

Can anyone help me with this issue? Is there a way I can make it work?

    Kind regards,

    V
