    Hi Lea,

Is multi-touch also planned for the Windows Viewer? I think that is what JiachenZeng and Xge meant.

    Thanks!

    Hello.
It would be great to have Linux support in spacedesk, at least for “commercial grade” distributions (RHEL8, Fedora – distros using Wayland)
Do you have plans to release Linux version of your software?

    I’m having a weird issue with touch support, when i tap the screen once it doesn’t register, but after tapping it again it does register, if i tap 2 times after that it doesn’t register touch and the cycle continues;

The viewer device is a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite (SM-T110). it seems like this is some sort of palm-rejection or something, i really wanna have proper touch support to control my stuff without having to tap 9999 times.

    I’m trying to use my old Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite (SM-T110) as a second monitor for my computer to increase my productivity. I have tried using wifi connection for that but its too slow and unstable to be useable, so i found a way to use USB Tethering to connect my tablet to my computer. It worked, pinging the interface gives me <1MS delay, spacedesk is noticeable faster and responsive, but there is still a noticeable lag and the video feed just freezes from time to time. Reducing quality and framerate seems to give similar results;

What can i do to have lower lantency or don’t that these lag spikes. If its possible to remove the lagspikes i will be already satisfied.

    Hello,

I’m a field application engineer at Qualcomm who is responsible to deliver Windows on ARM(WoA) tech support. One of our customers in Japan who evaluates a WoA device cannot use “SPACEDESK DRIVER SOFTWARE for Windows PRIMARY PC (server).” They’d like to use iPad as a second monitor of the WoA device.
Although I understand it doesn’t support WoA but I have two questions for you.
Do you think there are any workarounds?
Do you have any plans to support WoA? If yes, I’d like to chat with you about what support we can do for you.

Even after installing the x64 version server module on the WoA device, the following four files are not located in the System32 folder.
    spacedeskConsole.exe
    spacedeskService.exe
    spacedeskServiceTray.exe
    spacedeskSrvLibConnectorUsb.exe

I’ve attached a screenshot to show what I wrote above.

    Regards,

    Hi @matt,
Can you further describe when you said USB tethering sometimes doesn’t work?
Is the private network cannot establish over USB tethering?
You can easily check in the spacedesk Driver Console -> Network -> Adapter Interface, if the Remote NDIS Adapter is active (this is the network adapter for USB tethering network).

As for the “Connected no internet” in hotspot setup, this is still good since spacedesk does not require internet connection, it only needs to be connected to a local area network.

In case you want to try the Android Debug Bridge Cable connection, just follow the steps below:
    1. Connect your android device via USB and enable the USB debugging in the Developer options on your Android System settings.
    2. Download Android SDK platform tools on your primary machine, then extract it.
    https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools
    3. Open command prompt on the primary machine, change the directory to your android SDK platform tools folder, then type the command: adb.exe reverse tcp:28252 tcp:28252
    4. On your Android device, open the spacedesk Viewer app, and make sure to disable the auto-discovery by unchecking the LAN/WiFi box below.
    5. Click the + button, then try to connect to 127.0.0.1 IP address.

    Hi @looping,
Thank you very much for sending the diagnostic logs.
It seems that there’s a connection time out, this usually happens during temporary network connection loss, and there’s nothing we can do to fix your network.
Maybe enabling the Auto-reconnect on your spacedesk viewer app settings might help in this case.

    Hi @wastanley,
I assume your primary machine is either Windows 7 or 8.1, right?
FYI: spacedesk Driver Console window -> Diagnostics is only available for Windows 10/11 primary machine.

To get the diagnostic logs for Windows7/8.1 machine, please download the spacedesk diagnostic script here, then extract it.
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/d8w439rp66vqbr1/2022_spacedeskDiagnosticTool_Legacy.zip?dl=0

Inside you will find spacedeskDiagnosticTool.cmd, just right-click it then run as administrator.
This script will start a debug view app to capture spacedesk debug traces. If there’s a pop-up message from DebugView, just press “Agree” to proceed.

On step 4 it will prompt you to reproduce the issue (by connecting the viewer app and wait for the issue to happen), make sure to do this before pressing any key to continue.

After the script is done, a folder will be created on the same folder as the script file which contains various log files that we need for analysis.
Please right-click it -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file on your next reply.

I re-installed Spacedesk and now I’m running version 1.0.35. I am, however, getting the same error.

I’m not sure what you mean about the diagnostics. On the main computer with the driver console, there is a dialog box that only has a Settings option in the top left. When I select that, I can toggle the function ON and OFF or choose Windows Display Control Panel…, Clear All Display Settings, or Hide taskbar icon.

Where would I find the diagnostic option?

    Hi Lea,

thanks for your answer. After updating, like you said, I did not notice the problem anymore. I did not use the service very often though. Now I am using it everyday again and I am experiencing the same problem with the same error code and info. Connected time is always around 6 minutes. I did everything you said in the prior message and attached the .zip-file.

Best regards and thanks in advance

OK, XenceLabs updated their driver today and one fix in that driver (see attached image) was an application crash when too many displays were connected. So that must be the issue. Nothing to do with SpaceDesk–case closed!

Yes – spacedesk is acting as an additional display monitor. Thus it can be set to Desktop Duplication (mirror) and Desktop Extension. Please check the instruction manual https://spacedesk.net/user-manual/ Look at chapters “CONFIGURATION AND SETTINGS”->”Primary Machine”->”Desktop Extension or Desktop Duplication (mirror) Settings…”.

I can’t reproduce the problem. I completely uninstalled and reinstalled both applications and updated the android client with the latest version that just came out. I now have SpaceDesk server 1.0.35 running and everything appears fine. I used to get a BEX crash for the Xencelabs driver application, see attachment, but for the first time in weeks that didn’t happen now. I have attached an image of the Xencelabds driver application’s program folder as well with files. It uses some sort of QT interface toolkit. Just curious if you have any ideas of what might have caused the crashes.

I am using my Samsung Galaxy A50s to mirror my laptop’s screen using Spacedesk. It works fine, but there is something wrong with the color output sent by the Windows driver to my phone. The colors on my phone are coming a little different from the source color. You won’t notice any visual difference, but when I use the pixel picker on my phone, I can see the difference.

    For example:

Red (#ff0000) will be outputted on my phone as (#fe0000).

I wouldn’t mind if 16:9 resolutions would just have black bars so the image is not stretched that’s how it behaves when spacedesk server software is running on Windows 10. BTW my iPads native resolution is 2360×1640 and acording to Aspect Ratio Calculator it has 59:41 aspect ratio.

    tipek360

Yes, it’s still stretched, just tested it with 1920×1200.

    spacedesk Lea

Can you try with other marked custom resolution (e.g. 1600×1200, is it marked?)

    tipek360
    Participant

@lea Yes, 1920×1080 was marked. As I already said I this looks like some kind of conflict between Windows 11 and Spacedesk, because on Windows 10 it was working just fine, I even tried it one more on computer with Windows 10 before posting this issue since it was working fine with Windows 10 i then tried it once more on Windows 11 and you guessed it image was stretched again.

    spacedesk Lea
    Keymaster

    Hi @tipek360,
    I see..
Did you check if the 1920×1080 in the custom resolution list has * marked on it?
If it’s not marked, then this resolution does not match the iPad screen’s aspect ratio and will result to stretched screen.

You may also try internet sharing function which makes from one computer DHCP server to share internet connection to other computers connected via LAN cable.

Open Run dialog using Win + R and write in it ncpa.cpl which opens Network Adapters window. Then right click your WiFi adapter which has internet connection and click properties click sharing tab and check checkbox which says allow other network users to connect through this computer’s Internet connection from home networking connection dropdown select ethernet adapter to which you want to share internet connection which will also create DHCP server after that internet other computer should see internet connection over ethernet and should have IP from DHCP server which was created by Internet Connection Sharing function in Windows.

And we also noticed that you have two kinds of antivirus software on your primary machine – PC Matic Super Shield and Total AV.

    Hi @downstairsflier,

This looks like a network connection lost, and there’s nothing we can do to fix your network.
We will release a new spacedesk Driver (v1035) in the next few days and you can try the suggested workaround below to hopefully prevent the sudden disconnection issue (during network drop out)
    – enable Auto-reconnect on your spacedesk viewer app settings
    – set a disconnect delay for a specific period of time, enough so that the spacedesk server will not disconnect the viewer app immediately (upon network drop) and by the time the network connection resumes the spacedesk display remains connected.
To set the disconnect delay, just run the spacedesk Driver Console -> Control -> Configuration.

    Hello,

I have exactly the same issue. Running the driver on Windows 10 and trying to use a Google TV as a second extended monitor. It will only allow me to set 1920×1080 as a maximum as a toast message shows me that’s the native resolution. The TV itself however is 4K UHD.

I also met with some terrible situation. I have installed the latest version of Spacedesk for windows 10 one day ago and during its installation mp screen went black. When it came back, I found Disk D was almost cleared. I was terrified and I uninstall spacedesk immediately. I lost more than 200G data. These files are my important experiment materials and results, without them I can’t continue my research. I have tried to recover my data by some data recovery softwares, but the data recovered were almost broken, I can’t open it again. Hope for some help!

YES! If I select *only* the native resolution option on the viewer, the distortion goes away. Thank you so much! While I could live with the distortion for toolbars and dialog boxes for Photoshop and such, the distorted aspect ratio still bugged me.

Spent some time with the Premiere program monitor window on my phone through you, and that worked fine, and was useful; pushing the tech harder than I had initially expected to, but figured it was worth a try, and it both worked, and was useful.

Good luck hitting your expected release without too much death march!

    Hi @dd-b,

With Windows 10/11 primary machine, you should only enable one screen resolution on your viewer app settings.
In your case, please try to use native screen resolution only (recommended).
In case you select custom resolution, please select one that has * marked resolution, it matches your device’s aspect ratio and will not stretches/distorts your viewer screen.

As for the non-beta version, it is not yet available.
We are still in beta, we already have an expected date of release (for non beta version) but we are not sure yet.
