    I think with Public network, network discovery is switched off.

    Primary Machine
    – operating system (Windows 8.1/10)?
    – graphics adapter (AMD/Intel/Nvidia)
    – network connection type (wired/wireless/USB tethering/WiFi Direct)

    Secondary Machine
    – Viewer type (Android/iOS/Windows/HTML5)
    – network connection type (wired/wireless/USB tethering/WiFi Direct)

    What is your current network profile on your primary machine? Public or Private?
    Aside from Windows built in firewall, do you have third party firewall software (e.g. McAfee)?
    When you set the rule above, is the program path set to C:\Windows\system32\spacedeskService.exe?
    Do you maybe have VPN (Virtual Private Network) currently active?

    So you can’t connect spacedesk anymore after the first time?
    But can you still discover your primary machine on your viewer app?
    You can connect but you only get Display Off, correct?

    Is your primary machine connected to wireless or wired network?
    If it’s wireless, is it reliable/stable?

    Could you please check on your primary machine if spacedeskService is running?
    Just run services.msc, find spacedeskService and check the status, maybe try to restart it.

    For further analysis, could you please run dxdiag.exe on your primary machine, click „Save All Information“, then attach the output file (dxdiag.txt) on your next reply.

    No,only windows defender but windows defender is turned off.

    Could you please check on your primary machine if spacedeskService is running?

    If you are using wireless network, are both primary machine and iPad device connected on the same wifi network with the same network band (2.4Ghz or 5Ghz)?

    Hello! Im a new user and it says on my secondary device that there is a connection failure. Are there ways to resolve this?

    I ran the Windows Troubleshooter which DID detect and fix some problems.

    I have successfully installed the SpaceDesk Windows Driver – problem now resolved.

    I am using the General Mobile E Tab-4 tablet.

    Hi @lea, I am using an Android tablet as the viewer device to provide a third screen. The version of the viewer is v0.9.77.

    The input seems to be generated by the Spacedesk driver. It is not coming from the hardware keyboard that is attached to my Windows 10 PC. As soon as I stop the Spacedesk driver on the Windows 10 machine the generation of the „\“ character ceases immediately and I can happily type on my keyboard as normal. The hardware keyboard is USB wired connection, not a wireless keyboard or software keyboard.

    Ok, thanks for the feedback.
    Next thing to try is thru HTML5 viewer from your iPad.
    Just open a web browser (e.g. Safari or Google Chrome) then go http://viewer.spacedesk.net/, then try to connect to the IP address of your primary machine.

    Hi @dmitriy,

    There are various differences between our Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 spacedesk Driver.
    On Windows 8.1, there’s no more remote hardware keyboard support (only software keyboard in android). Aside from that the other available remote input supported is Mouse only.
    On Windows 10, spacedesk supports remote Mouse/Touch/Keyboard/Pen input.

    Hello,
    Following your advice I updated both Spacedesk driver to v1.0.15 and Intel(R) HD Graphics 5500 but the problem was not solved.
    Everytime i launch Spacedesk app on android client the blank screen „Connected – Display OFF“ appears.
    I noticed that the Spacedesk driver on primary machine detects the incoming connection, then it disconnects. I’m uploading the screenshots if this can be useful to you.
    I also relaunched the diagnostic tool and the result is attached below.

    Please try try the Install/Uninstall troubleshooter program https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17588/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed
    If spacedesk is not on the program list, just select “Not Listed” then paste the product code of current spacedesk version below.

    We are not very familiar with Avast.
    Can you please check if it has its own firewall settings?
    And can you quickly try to disable the Avast and check if spacedesk can viewer can discover now your primary machine?

    It is connected via USB tethering.

    I specifically don’t want the iPad connected to the WiFi via Spacedesk as I want to use the iPad as a permanently connected solution and already have a significant number of other devices taxing my Wifi network connection – and thus want to use a USB connection.

    I have a powered external usb hub and tried it. While the Spacedesk part continues to work perfectly, there is still no love in terms of the iPad charging.

    Is spacedesk connected over USB tethering or WiFi network?

    Hi @majimemajime,
    Could you please do the following steps:
    – run devmgmt.msc to open the Device Manager
    – click View tab -> Devices by Connection
    – find spacedesk virtual HID
    – right-click uninstall all devices underneath spacedesk virtual HID
    – uninstall spacedesk virtual HID last
    – reboot your primary machine the try again to install the latest spacedesk Driver installer

    Hello, I am currently having issues with the iOS version of spacedesk paired with Windows 8.1.

    The performance of the application is great; however, I am running into issues with its in-app pen option as it seems to not detect my Apple pen, although I have enabled the pen option for it in the settings.

    Although, the html5 viewer version of spacedesk seems to work with my Apple pen, but it is somewhat uncalibrated due to the cursor’s positioning.

    First, thanks for the great software. With the Spacedeck driver, I can use my iPad as an additional screen for my Windows PC.

    The only issue is that when I plug my iPad into my computer’s USB port the iPad won’t charge (regardless of if I am using Spacedesk or not).

    I have a powered external usb hub and tried it. While the Spacedesk part continues to work perfectly, there is still no love in terms of the iPad charging.

    Ideally, I would like to iPad to charge while also using Spacedesk so that I could effectively use it as a permanent extra display. Right now I can only use it up to the point the iPad battery holds up, after which I have to unplug it and charge it with a charging block.

    Is there a solution to this?

    Dear tech support,
    I’m recently having the same issue: upon connecting, the client shows a black screen: „Connected – Display off“ – and the client won’t show the server desktop.
    In the server device manager the spacedesk Graphics adapter shows a warning mark (!).
    Server is a Windows 10 Shuttle DS57U mini pc. The client is a Chuwi Hipad pro tablet and everything has been working flawlessly so far.
    I’m uploading the zipped folder generated by the diagnostic tool.
    I really hope you can help me…

    Currently spacedesk display only supports up to 2 screen resolution.
    The native screen resolution of your android device and a custom resolution which you can change on the viewer app’s Settings -> Resolution -> Custom Resolution list menu (list includes all screen resolution between your native resolution and 320 x 240).

    Yes – I removed the following entries as per Step 6 on your support page:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\spacedeskService
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\spacedeskKtmInputMouse
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\WUDF\Services\spacedeskDisplayUmode

    I have checked the registry today and confirm that the above entries do not exist.

    Hello. I have the same problem – „Error – spacedesk Keyboard / Mouse Driver unavailable“. But I have the same situation when connected via WiFi. The problem appeared after the last update of the application on Android.

    Will this only work if I am actively on a Wifi network with both devices?

    Yes, spacedesk only operates when both primary and secondary machine are connected on the same local area network.

    Also, is there an issue with data vulnerablity if I am on a public WIFI network
    Or is this only commmunicating directly between the two devices

    Security features is not yet supported (but will be available soon), so when there’s another device running a spacedesk viewer app (on the same local area network) it can also discover your primary machine and can connect.
    For now, we have designed our server to pop up the server window every time there’s a new viewer connection event.

    When using public wifi there’s a possibility that the viewer app will not be able to discover the spacedesk server. The main reason is that probably the wifi router settings has client isolation enabled.
    Most of the public wifi has this settings enabled to prevent communication between connected devices.
    If this is the case, you will not be able to connect spacedesk.

    The only option to ensure that only you can connect to spacedesk is to setup your own private network e.g. Mobile hotspot or USB tethering connection.
    Instruction on how to setup is available on our spacedesk user manual on Performance tuning -> Network Bandwidth chapter.

    With VPN enabled, we cannot guarantee that spacedesk will also work.
    In some cases it works, and other times it’s not.
    For details please check Troubleshooting -> Network Connection -> VPN chapter in our spacedesk user manual.

    For further analysis, could you please send us the following:
    – run dxdiag.exe on your primary machine, click „Save all information“ and send us the output file
    – spacedeskSetup.log file located in C:\Users\Public
    – setupapi.dev.log file located in C:\Windows\INF

    Please save all requested files in one folder, then right-click -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file on your next reply.

    I ran Device Manager and did not see any SpaceDesk devices. I have attached a list generated by Aida64 Extreme which shows all the Windows devices currently on my PC.

    I have previously removed SpaceDesk devices as per your website instructions to manually uninstall SpaceDesk prior to my attempting a re-install the latest version.

    I mapped port 28252 through FRP on the spacedesk server.But I can’t access it through spacedesk viewer.
    Do you need any other port mappings besides port 28252?
    My FRP configuration:

    Could you please try the following steps:
    1. Uninstall spacedesk Driver and reboot
    2. Run regedit
    3. Go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows
    4. Backup/Export the Windows reg folder
    5. Right click on Windows folder and select Permissions…
    6. Here check the Full Control permission for Your user under Allow option. Click Apply > OK to save changes.
    7. Delete these following registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows
    8. Reboot
    9. Reinstall spacedesk then try again to connect

    Hello, I used windows10 64bit, it worked fine now I use windows 8.1 64bit and Android 4.2.2, I have a question why when I connect via usb I get an error Error – spacedesk Keyboard / Mouse Driver unavailable, I looked in the device manager in the Devices tab by connection and it seems there are no drivers, could you advise something on how to connect?

    Testing the most recent spacedesk Driver on Windows 11 worked so far on our side.
    Both screen mirroring and extension should work.

    Since Windows 11 is not yet officially released, I assume your Windows 11 is still an Insider Preview version.
    And maybe it’s possible that it’s a Windows 11 bug.
    We will keep an eye on this issue and check if we can reproduce it on our side.

    By the way, did you already tried our most recent spacedesk Driver v1.0.15 on the web https://spacedesk.net?

    You might be right, maybe the incomplete uninstallation of previous version is causing the problem.
    Could you please open the device manager (just run devmgmt.msc), cliek View tab -> „Device by Connection“ and „Show hidden devices“.
    Then check if you can find any spacedesk devices or „Unknown device“ in the list and just right-click and uninstall it, then reboot your primary machine, and try again with spacedesk.

    Unfortunately, spacedesk iOS viewer only support iOS version 9.3 and above.
    In your case, you can only use spacedesk HTML5 viewer using your iOS v5.1 device.
    Just open a web browser (e.g. Safari or Google Chrome) then go to http://viewer.spacedesk.net/ and connect to the IP address of your primary machine.
    Keep in mind that this HTML5 VIEWER is much slower than our native apps on Android, iOS and Windows.
    This is due to technical limitation of HTML5/Javascript.

    I’m experiencing an issue with the latest version of Spacedesk under Windows 11.

    The issue appears to be windows 11 only, because while I still was on windows 10 all worked fine.

    I’m having a setup with 3 physical screens connected whereas „Display 3“ is the smallest one with HD resolution 1920×1080.
    I have been using spacedesk during HomeOffice times to mirror my meetings and calls to my Android Tab from this „Display 3“ to the spacedesk virtual screen, which is „Display 4“ when connected.

    Recently, since I updated to windows 11 developer preview, „Display 4“ only works as an additional device for extended desktop, but not in mirror mode.
    Whenever I try to mirror „Display 3“ to „Display 4“, the only thing that happens is that windows starts the usual 15 seconds countdown asking me if I want to keep the setting.

    Nothing is actually getting mirrored from „Display 3“ not even during these 15 seconds of preview and also when I confirm to keep the setting, it’s instantly getting reverted into 2 separate screens.

    As said, using it as an exteded screen and moving things to that screen works fine, but trying to mirror one of the physical screens fails, while it worked nicely on windows 10.

    Is there any advice? Did anyone get mirroring to work on windows 11? Or it it just a bug in the software where I need to be patient and wait for a fix?
