Hi @s-h-e-i-k-h,
We are glad to hear that spacedesk is working now on your side.
We will now close this issue. In case you encounter any spacedesk issue don’t hesitate to contact us.
Hi @carton,
Could you please provide the following information:
-Your client (Android/iOS/Window/Html5)?
-Connection type (Wired or Wifi)?
Could you also try checking the suggestions from the “Performance Tuning” chapter in the user manual?
Link: https://manual.spacedesk.net/PERFORMANCETUNING.html
Hi @chen,
it seems like Nvidia Shadowplay is active on your machine,
Could you please try to disable or uninstall it? then try again with spacedesk
also, if the above suggestion did not work, could you try switching to Duplicate mode and see if the issue is still happening?
Hi @chen,
Does it also happen with wifi connection?
Could you please check for any incompatible software, just run the spacedesk Driver Console -> Diagnostics -> Incompatible Software Products. if there is, please uninstall or disable it and try again with spacedesk
Hi @jerryss,
spacedesk can support up to 16 viewer connections as long as your Windows 10/11 primary machine’s GPU/resources can handle all the connected displays.
Could you tell us more of the following:
-GPU
-Windows version (8.1/10/11)
My computer displays a 4070 graphics card, and the Spacedesk view used on my Android phone was downloaded from Google Play because Amazon has been unable to install it. At this point, when the computer is connected to a display screen and a USB connection is used to connect the phone, the spacedesk view only displays the taskbar, and the rest is black. Even if the display screen is turned off, it cannot be solved. The only way is to unplug the cable on the graphics card.
Hi @jerryss,
We have released a new spacedesk Driver v2114 on the web.
This update includes the detection of Apple Devices app, Please update your driver to the latest version and see if it works for you.
make sure your Apple Devices app is running in the background.
looking forward to your feedback!

Hi @zjsheep,
Have you tried the suggestions above?
Could you please try to reinstall the spacedesk iOS viewer app?
Maybe you could also check your Ipad’s settings -> privacy -> Local Network -> then make sure to enable the local network for spacedesk
Hi @galvisefrain,
We moved your reply from its previous thread to avoid confusion.
Are you connected via Wifi or USB cable?
if it is Wifi, Network traffic can reduce the performance significantly, ensure that your wireless network is stable and provides a strong and consistent signal.
please note that Highest performance is already achieved by cabled networks => cabled connection (e.g. native Android USB, ethernet) so you might want to try using a USB cable.
for further information, please refer to performance tuning chapter in the user manual:
https://manual.spacedesk.net/PERFORMANCETUNING.html
Ok, I have an update.
I boot the computer, run iTunes on pc. Run spacedesk on iPad = no connection
I boot the computer, run iTunes on pc. Open spacedesk console, turn spacedesk off ( button on right). The turn spacedesk on. Run spacedesk on iPad = connection ok!
I hope this helps!
Hi @jerryss,
Apple devices should still work with spacedesk iOS USB support.
is your Apple devices running in the background? if not, please make sure to run it first, then try connecting using your iOS USB cable.
Should I use Apple Devices instead of itunes for spacedesk IOS usb support? I uninstalled itunes, then installed Apple Devices, now USB no longer works for spacedesk.
thanks
i use spacedesk with MS flight simulator (for aircraft panels) it works great
Hi @thegamingguy,
The effectiveness of using a tablet as a secondary monitor depends on factors like Wi-Fi stability, resolution, device specifications, and software compatibility.
Drawbacks include the need for a stable Wi-Fi connection, affecting game performance.
But for optimal gaming experience, wired connections like USB or Ethernet cables are recommended.
Regarding anti-cheat systems, using a second monitor isn’t considered cheating unless displaying game information not normally accessible or uses suspicious software. there have been no reports from other users indicating that spacedesk has triggered violations in the anti-cheat systems of their games so far.
Hi @devildog8488,
Are you still using spacedesk v2.1.11?
We have released a new spacedesk v2.1.13 on the web. could you please try it?
Restarting your PC might also help.
So got another tablet. Different maker. Android one also.
D/l Spacedesk to it. Set it up. Says connected but no screen activation as 3rd monitor.
Hi @zerogravity994,
spacedesk is free for private non-commercial use. Only free version does expire. Paid business license does not expire.
Currently availability of business license is limited to Google Play Store for Android. Soon, iOS and Windows business version will follow in Apple Store and Microsoft Store. In the meantime iOS and Windows Viewers can be used for free even by business users.
Upon expiry, screen will turn to black and white (no more colors). This only happens in the non-commercial version of the Viewer.
Upon expiry a new version of the spacedesk Driver needs to be downloaded from the spacedesk website.
Hi . I finally found the solution to broadcast cameras on the echoshow 15 through this phenomenal application. On the PC where the server is hosted I noticed that the expiry date is set for January 31, 2024. Can I purchase a license or is it free for personal use?
Hi @s-h-e-i-k-h,
I see, that could be the reason why your spacedesk Console is still displaying that error message.
Are you unable to install iTunes from the MS Store? if not,
Could you please try installing iTunes from the MS Store -> Run the iTunes app -> check your USB Cable iOS if it still displaying the message?
Also, please make sure to update your spacedek Driver to v2.1.13
Hi @Christian,
Thanks to your advice, the issue has been resolved successfully!
I truly appreciate it.
Regarding the keyboard, I have purchased a business license.
I will continue to make use of spacedesk from now on.
Hi @nag,
We’re glad to hear that it is now working on your side!
For your keyboard Issue, this is because of the keyboard update in earlier versions for security purposes. During network connection, you are now required to enable the encryption option spacedesk Console for keyboard inputs. You can use the encryption feature when you have an Android commercial or business license.
If you still wish to use it for free, you must connect your Android device to your Windows 11 laptop using a USB cable, or if you still want to use the keyboard via Wi-Fi, you need to purchase the business license for the Android viewer.
to summarize:
Keyboard in USB connection = allowed
Keyboard in Wi-Fi connection = not allowed without a business license.
Hi @nag,
Could you maybe check your LAN/WIFI option which can be seen at the bottom of spacedesk viewer connection page?
Could you you also make sure again if your primary machine and Android device is connected under the same Wifi network?
please refer to the attached screenshot for assistance.

Hi @s-h-e-i-k-h,
For clarification, after you clean install your windows, you only installed the Apple devices app from Microsoft store and not iTunes, is that right?
If your iTunes app is from the Microsoft Store, you must still open it for Spacedesk Console to detect it.
For your concern about the burn-in, we already forwarded this to our iOS developer. we will let you know once there is an update about this issue.
Hi, due to some problems with my previous windows, I clean-installed windows 11 23H2 version and then installed apple devices app from microsoft store (so there is no effects of iTunes on my windows). Then tried connecting my iPad to my pc and after windows auto-driver installation (windows updates) and some restarts, checked iPad connection with windows and everything was good. After that, downloaded and installed v.2.1.12 but still have previous problem with the “Apple Mobile Device Service/Process is not running. Please download and install iTunes.” message.
Today morning, tried to connect with USB again and client version of spacedesk on iPad could not recognize USB connection. So I turned off and on the “USB Cable iOS” option in spacedesk server app on windows, then I had the pop up on iPad and everything was fine.
So I think the bug still persist =D
———————
I also have an other issue on every versions from old to new one.
I’ve set windows (power plan) “turn off screen time out” on 3 minutes and “sleep timeout” on “never”.
After 3 minutes, my laptop screen goes black; but it’s still working. On my iPad I receive a message that says “connected – screen off” and the message is permanent until I move my mouse so my laptop screen is turned on again. I think in future I will have the burn-in problem on my iPad screen (the burn-in issue is a common problem in LCDs and you will see a shadow of some permanent elements of UI e.g. battery icon on status bar even you change the background). please add an option to the client spacedesk app to turn off this message, so it will be only a blank screen on second display and it will be healthier for LCDs and AMOLED displays.
——————–
thanks a lot for your excellent support.
Hi @nag,
Is there an error when you connect to your server wirelessly?
Do you see your server name/IP on your android viewer?
if not, please try to manually connect, just open the spacedesk App -> click the + sign -> then enter your server’s IP address.
Hi @darkathena,
for clarifications:
– usb android is working with usb cable 2.0
– usb android is working with usb cable 3.0 when inserted slowly
is this correct?
Could you please send us your diagnostic files again? this time, make sure to reproduce it using your 3.0 cables. just follow the steps thoroughly:
– open spacedesk Driver Console -> Diagnostics
– if Debug View is not available, please click the download button first
– switch Diagnostic Collection ON (make sure to click Yes in the User Account Control box to proceed)
– please reproduce the issue using the faulty cables
– switch Diagnostic Collection OFF
– click Save All Information button (if a message box appears, just click No to proceed)
PS: Saving all information will take a few seconds, then please send us the whole folder which contains all the diagnostic logs collected.
Please right-click the folder -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file in your next reply.
Hi @nag,
Could you please check the following?
– double check if both of your primary and secondary machines are connected within the same local area network
– see if spacedesk or C:\Program Files\datronicsoft\spacedesk\spacedeskService.exe is included in antivirus or firewall’s exception list. this is to allow spacedesk service to establish incoming and outgoing connections
– If you have VPN (Virtual Private Network) active in your machine, please disable it
– please make sure your wifi router has client isolation disabled
– check if your current Network profile in your primary machine is Public, if so, switch it to Private. you can navigate this options by going to Windows Settings -> Internet & Network
Hello,
Thank you for the wonderful app. Thanks to Spacedesk, I’ve had a great experience.
Suddenly, around 10 p.m. on February 18, 2024, Japan time, I found that while I can still connect via USB with my Android tablet, I’m unable to connect wirelessly.
I’ve confirmed that there are no issues with the firewall settings of my security software. Even after updating to the latest version and reinstalling the app for the secondary machine, the issue persists.
Could you please advise on the possible causes and solutions?
Best regards.
Hi @sbertin930,
Based on your SpacedeskDiag.txt, you are using Microsoft Basic Display, Please update your AMD/Intel/Nvidia graphics adapter to the latest version.
Hi @s-h-e-i-k-h,
We just released a new spacedesk Driver v2112 on the web.
this update includes the fix for Apple Mobile Device process issue <--(Itunes downloaded from app store).
Please try it and let us know if it is now working for you.
We look forward to your feedback!
Hi @sbertin930,
Have you tried the suggestions on our previous reply?
Could you also try reinstalling spacedesk Driver?
Restart your Primary and secondary machine?
We cannot view the files you have sent due to file type and size error.
Can you maybe compress it to a zip folder?
Please right-click the folder -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file in your next reply, or maybe send it to us by uploading it to any cloud storage app like google drive or dropbox and send us the link.
please make sure to reproduce the issue and follow the diagnostic collection steps in our 2nd reply.
Hi @devildog8488,
Could you please open the Windows Display Settings on your primary machine then check for detached/greyed-out client. if there is, just attach it by selecting extend from the drop-down menu.
You can also refer to our CONFIGURATION AND SETTINGS
-> Windows Driver (Primary Machine) -> Desktop Extension or Desktop Duplication (mirror) Settings in Display Control Panel chapter in our manual –
https://manual.spacedesk.net/DesktopExtensionorDesktopDuplica.html
Hi @user2003,
Could you please try uninstalling the old version first by following this chapter UNINSTALL ON WINDOWS PRIMARY MACHINE -> Troubleshooting Uninstall on our user manual
Link: https://manual.spacedesk.net/TroubleshootingUninstall.html
then try to install the latest version again.
use this Product code:
spacedesk_driver_Win_10_64_v1066.msi:{26EB1A9A-6F23-4AE4-8BD9-B43C3FA07550}
I used the program before and stopped using it for a while and now that I want to use it again when installing it asks me to update the driver but I get an error that I need the installation package for the spacedesk_driver_Win_10_64_v1066_BETA.msi
We mirror a Windows 11 laptop wirelessly to 4 Android Fire TVs, via MonitorsAnywhere & the Spacedesk app on those TVs. The laptop mirrors a Google Slide presentation to those TVs in full screen Slideshow mode. The remote controls for those TVs are used to scroll through the slide presentations via the directional controls on the remotes. However, upon updating the Spacedesk driver today to v2.1.11, the remotes can no longer scroll through those slides. The slides can be advanced via the laptop, but the remotes no longer work in this manner. Just to be clear, this functionality was working today right up until initiating the v2.1.11 driver update…this was the only change made, & now this specific remote functionality is dead.
Is there a reason why this would’ve happened? I’ve tried repairing the driver install, but the remotes still do not work. They were working on the previous Spacedesk driver version (2.0.8.x I believe, installed about a month ago). I can’t find a way to rollback the current version to that prior working version, nor can I find where to download any prior driver versions directly from Spacedesk.
Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
“Uninstall spacedesk Driver” –done
“Plug Android tablet with USB3.0 cable” –done
“Check if there is still an error with the MTP, if none” –none error with MTP
“install spacedesk driver then enable USB connection” –an error with MTP
disable USB connection –none error with MTP
enable USB connection –an error with MTP
Win 11, Spacedesk 2.1.11, Samsung galaxy tab A with S pen, Android 8.1
Using power point 2007 (a bit old I know, but heavily customized and payed for)
The problem is when in the slide show on a projector, using the pen to write on the slides (on the tablet) the writing does not show on the projector, only on the presenter view, plus whenever I remove the pen away of the screen the slide turns to the next one.
I would like to be able to write and annotate on the projected slides and do the next/previous slide either by swiping or using the arrows on the presentation screen NOT by the pen touching the screen.
Appreciate your help.
As said, I can’t make that obnoxious window vanish. We can hide the connection window, but not that apparently. How and/or when will I be able to remove the obnoxious thing from my taskbar? Do I need the commercial version, or if I buy the commercial version am I stuck with a pop up saying I have the commercial version?
Hi @darkathena,
Could you please try the following:
– Uninstall spacedesk Driver
– Plug Android tablet with USB3.0 cable
– Check if there is still an error with the MTP, if none..
– install spacedesk driver then enable USB connection
Hi @sbertin930,
How do you connect your Android device? is it via USB or Wifi?
if it is via USB, could you please try unplugging your device -> turn off Android/iOS USB option in the Console -> turn on USB -> plug your device again.
since its a newly reinstalled windows 10, do you maybe have Nvidia ShadowPlay installed on your machine?
Could you please check for any incompatible software, just run the spacedesk Driver Console -> Diagnostics -> Incompatible Software Products. if there is, please uninstall or disable it and try again with spacedesk
if the above suggestion did not work, please send us the Diagnostic logs of this Issue.
Just follow the steps below:
– open spacedesk Driver Console -> Diagnostics
– if Debug View is not available, please click the download button first
– switch Diagnostic Collection ON (make sure to click Yes in the User Account Control box to proceed)
– reproduce the blackscreen issue.
Hi @darkathena,
Thank you very much for sending the requested files.
“If I slowly insert the USB 3.0 TYPE-A, it can be recognized at this time, but the reason for this recognition is that slow insertion will be recognized as USB 2.0”
-What version is your USB port? the reason for this could be that while USB 2.0 ports are compatible with USB 3.0 it will still be limited at the transfer speed of your USB 2.0 port hence it is being recognized as 2.0
the real issue here is the non-working cable when spacedesk is plugged..
the text file DebugView.log is missing from the files you sent. did you make sure to reproduce the issue before you turn off the diagnostic collection?
Could you please send us the files again? this time, make sure to reproduce it using your 3.0 cables. just follow the steps provided on my previous reply.
Hi @dominic100,
unfortunately, you cannot use spacedesk to control your Ipad apps. you can only use your Ipad as an additional monitor/display of your Windows PC
Hi @kusada,
I see, we have forwarded this to our iOS developer, for the meantime, you can use a USB connection instead of Wi-Fi to connect your iOS viewer.
Please check the CONNECTING A NEW DISPLAY MONITOR OVER THE USB CABLE -> Direct USB Cable Connection ->iOS USB Cable Connection chapter in the user manual – https://manual.spacedesk.net/iOSUSBCableConnection.html
No. Black and white color has nothing to do with license.
It is because the BETA version expired. Please look at the post below:
Black and White Image: EXPIRY of BETA VERSIONS!
Hi @kusada,
since it’s a newly formatted phone, could you please go to settings -> privacy -> Local Network -> then make sure to enable the local network for spacedesk
Hi @sethmtraut,
Thank you very much, we look forward to your feedback.
it is also worth mentioning that the Current spacedesk’s touchscreen is only supported in the first spacedesk display, when you connect a 2nd (or multiple viewers) it will use mouse touch. could this be your issue? please note that this behavior is completely expected.
Hi, and thanks for the quick reply.
Ok, that’s disappointing, but not entirely unexpected, so I guess it’s on to plan B!
I’m thinking about installing Virtualbox on Linux, then installing Windows as a virtual OS, and putting Spacedesk on that.
Aside from the fact that it will probably be dog slow, can anybody see a fatal flaw in my plan?
Or, as an alternative, should plan B fail, do we collectively know of an alternative to Spacedesk *gasp* that runs on the Raspberry Pi?
I will ask the question on the Pi forum as well, just to cover my bases.
Thanks again,
John.
Hi @sethmtraut,
For clarifications, you have five hardwired monitors + two iPads (spacedesk) as monitors. two of the five monitors are touchscreen capable, is that right?
“will only recognize one at a time as a touch screen”
-could you try connecting iPad #1 together with the two touchscreens if the touchscreen is working? then disconnect and try iPad #2 if it is also working.
– in case one of them is not working, please try checking the input settings of the iOS viewer if the touch screen is enabled. just go to the gear icon below -> Input devices
“When I go to tablet PC settings and try to tell it which ones are touch screens it faults out before getting to all monitors”
-During the Tablet PC Settings, does it close when it’s time for the iPad monitor? Could you please try going through the iPad screen first?
-Also, could you try excluding some monitors, or even the other two touchscreens before doing the Tablet PC Settings?
– rebooting your iPads may also help
Good evening. I have 5 hardwired monitors (flight sim) two of them touch screen. I had previously had two ipads running via spacedesk as two additional monitors (both set up as touch screens as well). The computer somehow dumped these as touch screens and will only recognize one at a time as a touch screen (giving me 3/4 that I previously had). My sim is useless without all four monitors. When I go to tablet PC settings and try to tell it which ones are touch screens it faults out before getting to all monitors. Not sure what changed as it previously worked fine. How do i convince windows that both ipad monitors via spacedesk are touchscreens? Thank you for your help… V frustrated… Thanks!!!
