    Routers can cause lags and latency. Bypassing them always improves performance. Configure Windows PC or Android device as WiFi Access Point (Hotspot) and connect to it before connecting spacedesk.
    USB Tethering achieves the same result.

    Hi @brojon,

    Screen duplication and extension can be changed in the server device’s Display Settings menu than can be accessed by right-clicking on an empty part of the desktop and selecting Display Settings on the menu that appears. For further information on desktop extension, you may check our User Manual on the section “Configuration and Settings” -> “Desktop Extension or Desktop Duplication (mirror) Settings in Display Control Panel”

    Upon clicking the “get” button, it should open your Microsoft Store app, if not please open the Microsoft Store manually on your Windows machine and search for spacedesk Viewer app and download/install it.

    I tried to download SPACEDESK VIEWER SOFTWARE FOR SECONDARY MACHINE (CLIENT) For Windows 10 – Current version: Beta v0.0.23.0, but it cannot be downloaded from the microfot site (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/spacedesk/9nblggh4trm4?activetab=pivot:overviewtab), nothing happens when you click the “get” option.
    Does anyone have the same issue?

    Hi rxbin-_,

    could you please tell us the following:

    1. Your Windows OS version
    2. Your spacedesk Server version
    3. Your Android OS version
    4. Your spacedesk Client version
    5. The model name and company name of your Android stylus pen (best would be an URL to the product page)

    Please also check the following in your spacedesk Android App settings:
    Main Hamburger Menu > Input Devices > Pen > “Enable Stylus Screen Control” should be set!

    Are you connecting by automatic server discovery or are you using the manual IP input?

    Do you have a third party firewall software installed in your server device? If so, please see the User Manual on the section “Troubleshooting” -> “Firewall Settings on Primary Machine”. Also, if you have a VPN installed in your server machine, you may also check the section “VPN (Virtual Private Network)” just below “Firewall Settings on Primary Machine” and follow the troubleshooting steps there.

    Regarding the issue of the client not showing any applications, would you prefer that the client duplicate the main display or extend it? You can find additional help in the User Manual under section “Configuration and Settings” -> “Desktop Extension or Desktop Duplication mirror Settings in Display Control Panel”

    In addition, the reason why the mouse pointer does not show up whenever you use the viewer is because the action is interpreted as touch input and that hides the mouse cursor. You may check the section “Configuration and Settings” -> “Mouse, Keyboard, Touchscreen And Pen Input” to know more about touch input types for your viewer.

    To further analyze the issue, could you please send us the diagnostic logs for this issue.
    Please follow the steps below:
    – open spacedesk Driver Console in your primary machine
    – go to Diagnostics, if DebugView is Unavailable, download it first
    – switch Diagnostic Collection ON
    – connect the viewer app to reproduce the mouse freeze, then disconnect after a few seconds (~10sec)
    – switch Diagnostic Collection OFF
    – click Save All Information

    Hi @mda,
    Thank you very much for the feedback.
    We have checked this issue and so far we have never experienced a mouse freeze on primary machine upon spacedesk connect.

    Maybe disabling all remote input on your viewer app might help.
    Please try to disable it in your Android Viewer app settings -> Input devices, just uncheck the touchscreen and pen input box before connecting.
    Then let us know your result.

    Thanks for your advice. I ordered now a “DisplayPort Dummy Headless Video Adapter /
    Ghost Display / Emulator Plug” which mimicks a connected screen to the primary PC. I’ll let you know if that works.
    I think I did try earlier already what you describe, but without much success – spacedesk connected, but all I got was a black screen and no cursor.

    Hi @jmhacker,

    Yes it’s possible. You just have to attach your physical monitor first so that you can install the spacedesk Driver on your primary machine.
    After spacedesk driver installation, you can detach now your primary monitor and just try to connect from your secondary device via spacedesk viewer app.
    Please make sure that both primary machine and secondary device are connected in a local area network.

    Hi @andy,
    If your primary machine is Windows 10/11, the most recent DisplayLink driver should work now with spacedesk driver.
    The known incomaptibility issue is with their old display hook driver for Windows 7/8.1.

    I have a possibly stupid question – is it possible to use spacedesk if there is no screen connected to the primary PC ? For my application this would be great, because we running a PC in the back of a small aircraft if this would work, would not connect a (physical) screen to the primary PC to save space in the aircraft.

    Unfortunately the zip file you sent does not contain any spacedesk diagnostic logs.
    The diagnostic steps above should generate a folder like this “2022-03-XX-XXXXXX-spacedeskRuntimeDiagnostics” and contains files such as spacedeskDiag.txt, spacedeskSetup.log, Debugview.log etc..

    Could you please repeat the steps above and send us the correct diagnostic folder.

    Based on the logs you’ve sent, we saw that you have some antivirus software installed in your machine and that could be one of the reasons why your server can’t get detected by your viewer device. For further assistance, you can refer to the User Manual under section “Troubleshooting” -> “Network Connection” and see troubleshooting guide under “Step 2: third party firewall software.”

    We are currently analyzing it. It seems that the server is disconnecting due to network connection lost.

    Can you quickly try with spacedesk HTML5 Viewer?
    Just open a Google Chrome web browser on your Chromebook device then go to http://viewer.spacedesk.net/ and try to connect to your server IP address. Then let us know if the display off / black screen is also happening.

    Please also make sure that you update your NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti graphics adapter to the most recent version.
    You can download the latest driver installer from their website https://www.nvidia.com/download/index.aspx.

    spacedesk does not see the main machine on the smartphone.

    Could you please also check in the spacedesk Driver Console -> Incompatible Software if there’s any software/product currently active.
    If you have Nvidia Shadow Play/In-game overlay/screen recording active please disable it before connecting spacedesk.

    For the first step, I could not find Debugview.log in my public downloads. I copied all my spacedesk files and my dxdiag in my Public folder. Instead of adding dxdiag directly to the folder (just in case anything bad happens), I created a copy and added it to the folder, just wondering if that’s alright.

    Hello,
    I wanted to use my android stylus pen in Windows via using my touch tablet(vastking kingpad k10pro). So almost as if it were a graphics tablet. However, I had to find out that the pen input is the same as for the computer mouse. How can I change that the pen and my fingers are registered separately in Windows.
    You can see in my picture on the right pen and mouse overlap at the same time. In Windows, however, the use of the pen as a mouse is already deactivated. I think it isnt a problem from Windows or my pen but a problem of spacedesk and how the peninput data is transferred to windows.

    Hi I have 2 LEnovo laptops running on a LAN cable network with Spacedesk.

    The app is working well. I use Spacedesk to make an extension screen on my primary laptop screen.

    However I cannot set the screen brightness of the secondary laptop viewer screen.

    If I go to the active connection link I only get the statistics tab, I don’t see the tab that will allow me to adjust the display on the client/slave screen.

    I am running windows 10 on both machines.

    Any help will be much appreciated, Thanks!

    So basically what happens is:

    1: I turn my PC and Chromebook on

    2: I open up Spacedesk on both

    3: I connect

    4: it shows a black screen and my PC detects 2 screens

    5: It disconnects with error 256

    6: I connect again and I shows display off no matter how many times I connect and reconnect

    Thanks for the logs.
    Upon checking the logs, it seems that spacedesk is already recognizing the touch input from your viewer app so it should already work.
    Are you maybe sending a touchscreen input to a particular desktop application e.g. Photoshop or any 3D games (e.g. MS Flight Simulator)?

    Can you tell us which old version of spacedesk did you use that can remember the wallpaper settings of your second display?

    Based on our testing this is only possible if you set a Disconnect delay time (in seconds) via spacedesk Driver Console and reconnect the viewer before the disconnect delay timeout.

    Upon checking the logs, we cannot find any indications that could cause a display off/black screen issue on spacedesk server.
    Could you please check/verify the following:
    1. Please check your display settings window if you can find a detached second display while viewer is showing display off.
    2. Are you connecting over the wifi network? Is the connection fast/stable/reliable?
    Maybe the network is slow and causes a delay in the transmission of screen update over the wireless network and you just have to wait for a while for the viewer to show the screen update?
    3. Maybe something in your AMD Radeon software settings. Can you please check in your Radeon Software settings -> Preferences -> In-game overlay, if it’s disabled? OR maybe check the other Graphics settings.

    Thank you very much for sending the requested logs.
    Based on the setup logs, the uninstallation for spacedesk virtual HID device is hanging.
    This is a known issue in that old installer version which we already fixed in the most recent version.
    To solve this on your machine, please manually uninstall the spacedesk virtual HID device in Device Manager.

    – open Device Manager by running “devmgmt.msc”
    – click View tab -> Devices by connection
    – scroll down and find spacedesk virtual HID Device
    – expand first the spacedesk virtual HID Device and right-click “Uninstall device” each devices underneath it
    – then right-click “Uninstall device” the spacedesk virtual HID Device

    Then try again to update with the latest spacedesk installer (v1037).

    For assistance, please also check the Uninstall on Windows Primary Machine -> Manual Uninstall (Troubleshooting Only)

    I solved the problem!
    I think it was some kind of incompatibility with my current graphics tablet (Hion HS610).
    I uninstalled the drivers and unplugged my Huion, and SpaceDesk worked, with pressure, in photoshop

    It seems that the issue is somewhere in the settings of your Photoshop, since spacedesk can already receive the Pen input properly with another app.

    Please check if the Pen Pressure is configured on your Photoshop brush settings.

    On my laptop (MX550) it worked! but on my computer (RTX2080 Super) it didn’t work… only in photoshop.. in Microsoft Paint it worked, despite not recognizing pen pressure

    Attached is the drive diagnostic file

    As you can see in the video, pen pressure works fine on the tablet and supported apps, but it doesn’t work on SpaceDesk
