Bonjour
Cordialement
Joel
Hi @maestro,
Yes, the description already does what it says, it will hide the spacedesk icon in the task bar not in the system tray area.
“To set a custom number in the box, you have to click the up or down arrow to increment or decrement the values (you have to be patient on this one in order to get the desired value and please also take note that it will not accept any odd number values).”
I know.
This is a VERY bad UI design. Please ask the programmers to change that.
Also, I held the spinner down for a long time, but eventually, it reached a maximum value, and the values stopped moving.
E.g. currently I can set the spinner value to 2560 x 1440.
But, it is not possible to set the spinner value to 1440 x 2560
This means I can’t use the SpaceDesk.
And attempting to rotate to portrait mode in the Primary PC didn’t work either.

Hi @leefedex,
Thanks for sending your dxdiag info.
It seems that you have splashtop WiredX Display driver installed on your primary machine.
spacedesk and splashtop’s Virtual Display driver cannot coexist with spacedesk driver.
On Splashtop Wired XDisplay Agent window -> Advanced, just uninstall the Virtual Display driver.
spacedesk should work now after you uninstall this driver.
We are users of commercials who need to use the apps for several devices with windows. does it legal in our company?

Hi Lea,
I think you’re correct. The way I used the previous version of Spacedesk was to mirror my Samsung tablet screen on my PC (connected to Zoom).
With the new version of Spacedesk, the only thing I can do is to extend my PC onto the tablet, which doesn’t meet my needs. Moreover there is an important lag between the PC and the Samsung tablet.
Thank you very much for your help.
Hi @mpl,
..so you want to use the spacedesk viewer on your samsung tablet as mirror display? and not as extension display? Is that correct?
Hi
I did that.
But the problem is, all 4 of my monitors have a slightly different resolutions.
But for each instance I created of the SpaceDesk app, each one had the same resolution–of the primary monitor.
How can I fix this?
Hi @alejandro-k,
To further analyze this issue, please download the spacedesk diagnostic script here, then extract it.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/z8h5llgi8c2ig3g/2021_spacedeskDiagnosticTool.zip?dl=0
Inside you will find spacedeskDiagnosticTool.cmd, just right-click it then run as administrator.
This script will start a debug view app to capture spacedesk debug traces.
On step 5 it will prompt you to reproduce the issue (by connecting the viewer app and wait for the issue to happen), make sure to do this before pressing any key to continue.
After the script is done, a folder will be created on the same folder as the script file which contains various log files that we need for analysis.
Please right-click it -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file on your next reply.
Hi @emiszero,
Is this the first time you install spacedesk?
Or do you already have an older version of spacedesk Driver on your primary machine?
For further analysis, could you please send us the following:
– run dxdiag.exe on your primary machine, click “Save all information” and send us the output file
– spacedeskSetup.log file located in C:\Users\Public
– setupapi.dev.log file located in C:\Windows\INF
Please save all requested files in one folder, then right-click -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file on your next reply.
Hi @bilbo8333,
Yes, it’s possible.
Just use our current spacedesk Windows Viewer App for Windows 7 v0.9.30 from our website and run 4 instances of the viewer app and put it on each of your monitors then connect to the IP address of your primary machine (laptop).
Hi @mrpaul,
Did you notice any error notification on primary machine?
Do you maybe have splashtop software installed on your primary machine?
Could you please send us the following info:
Primary Machine
– operating system (Windows 8.1/10)?
– graphics adapter (AMD/Intel/Nvidia)
– network connection type (wired/wireless/USB tethering/WiFi Direct)
Secondary Machine
– Viewer type (Android/iOS/Windows/HTML5)
– network connection type (wired/wireless/USB tethering/WiFi Direct)
For assistance, please also check the troubleshooting chapters in our user manual https://spacedesk.net/user-manual.
Thank you very much, now it works very well, SPACEDESK the best
Hello,
I’ve put my Tablet which is running spacedesk into my PC Case so I can monitor my temps.
Now the problem is, when I turn my PC off, spacedesk is going into energy saving mode, the text is not bouncing around the edges to prevent screen burn in. It’s just staying in the middle. I’m assuming this is because the screen is too small for the text. What can I do about it?
Is there anyway to just put on a black screen after my PC is off? Right now I have to open my case everytime, turn off the tablet and close it again, to repeat the whole process the next time I power up my PC and the tablet.
Greets Gene
Did you do these on both android viewer app and spacedesk Driver on Windows 10?
Yes, multiple times
Did you already tried restarting the spacedeskService on services.msc on Windows 10?
No need to, after the first 3 times this happened I decided not to start it with windows just in case that was the issue. So I only start that service when I need it now.
However I will try it again
Do you have third party firewall software on your primary machine and/or android device?
Do you maybe have VPN (Virtual Private Network) active
No to all.
Could you please also try to disable the Settings -> Connection -> Automatic Server Discovery, then try to enter the IP address manually?
Have tried manual entering twice before, every time it connects but there is a 30-60+ second lag between what happens and when it’s drawn on screen, tested with “identity” in display settings for reliable testing
What is the current network connection on your Windows 10 primary machine? Wired or Wireless?
Wired. Gigabit, main line connection to router.
It works fine when it’s working, and it works for a few days (turning off and on ofcorse, not one long run) but then randomly just decides not to detect the server (yes it’s up) that it’s been working fine on.
Only thing that makes it work again is a router reset.
Not sure if this will make any difference, but please try to disable both cellular and wifi then re-enable the wifi only and reconnect to the network?
I tried this and also a combination of switching the WIFI, cellular, airplane mode, Bluetooth. None of which is making any difference.
I did find that SpaceDesk app is not in the app list of “APPs using wifi and cellular” though, not sure if this has anything to do with the problem.
I am now inclined to believe maybe this problem has something to do with the cellular function, and I will test it whenever I can get hold of another wifi-only iPad. I will keep you posted.
Hi @psyko,
I have tried reinstalling, resetting, switching everything on and off again, nothing works.

What do you mean by “windows device with other apps”?
I meant that My iPad is able to connect to the windows device with other apps installed on that iPad, like RD Client or Nplayer. This proves that the local network is fine.
Indeed it cannot discover the spacedesk server via the IOS app, but H5 version works without a problem.
I initially suspect that this problem is related to the iPadOS beta version, so I tried with my iPhone, which is on iOS 14.7.1, and it did not work either. But the only Apple device working so far is indeed running iPadOS 14.7.
As for the dxdiag info, I did not find a dxdiag.exe in the installation folder. I run “dxdiag.exe” directly from windows and the output file is attached.
Thanks for your help!
Hi @matewar,
Currently, this feature is not available on spacedesk.
We can only do an ultrawide monitor setup with spacedesk displays only (primary monitor not included) via Videowall Engine user interface.
Hi @armor00,
The none-working iPad is able to discover the windows device with other apps, and manually adding IP in spacedesk always stuck at IP validation.
What do you mean by “windows device with other apps”?
..so it cannot discover the spacedesk server, right?
..so the non working iPad has the latest iOS beta version.. is it possible to downgrade it to non beta version e.g. 14.7?
For further analysis, could you please send us the dxdiag info of your primary machine?
Just run dxdiag.exe on your primary machine, click “Save all information” and send us the output file.
Hi @francyfre,
No Apple version for spacedesk Driver, and currently no plans to develop it.
We only support Windows 8.1/10/11 operating system primary machine for our spacedesk Driver/Server.
You can only use your Apple device as secondary machine using our viewer apps (iOS/HTML5).
Hi @myron,
Thanks for the feedback.
Can you please also try with YUV444 encoding color depth (without the task manager or any screen activity in spacedesk display) then let us know if you can still reproduce the issue.
I checked that setting, appears to be correctly set.
And to add more confusion, I tried another iPad and it was able to find the IP address, and connect without a problem.
The working iPad: iPad Pro 11in gen2 with iPadOS 14.7.1
None working iPad: iPad Pro 12.9in gen2 with iPadOS 15.0 beta6
The none-working iPad is able to discover the windows device with other apps, and manually adding IP in spacedesk always stuck at IP validation.
Both of them are running Spacedesk version 1.0.44

My usecase is videoconferencing and screensharing:
I have one big 4k monitor.
With MS Teams, unfortunately, you can either share ONE window or an ENTIRE screen. In sessions where I need to share several windows, but not the entire screen (as there might be other apps like my calendar or outlook, which the audience should not see), this is very uncomfortable/impossible with MS Teams.
Thus, I’d like to have a virtual monitor device (spacedesk?) where I can place all the windows I want to share – and I want to control it via my mainscreen within a window. Then, in Teams, i could choose either the virtual screen or the viewer as source for the sharing.
Hi @dah,
Could you please check if your tablet device’s settings and spacedesk viewer settings both have auto-rotation enabled?
If possible please also send a screenshot of this issue.
Hi @multi-cat,
Thank you very much for sending the diagnostic logs.
Could you please try our most recent spacedesk Driver v1.0.11 and spacedesk Android viewer app v0.9.75.
Looking forward to you feedback.
Hi @bwmoynier1,
spacedesk Driver/Server msi installer is only available to download from our website.
We don’t have it in Microsoft Store.
We only have the spacedesk Viewer app in the Microsoft Store.
Hi @imtek,
It seems that this noisy pattern is happening outside spacedesk screen image processing.
Even the Window’s print screen cannot capture it too..
We are now convinced that there’s a third party app on your machine that is messing up with the connected spacedesk screen.
Can you tell us some of your software (e.g. 3D apps) currently running while connecting a spacedesk viewer?
We also noticed you have a third party app for your Start menu button, can you tell us what software it is?
Hi @click4time,
spacedesk should work over Access point.
It does not require internet connection, only local area network is needed between primary and secondary machine.
Could you please tell us how did you setup the access point?
And please send us the following info:
Primary Machine
– operating system (Windows 8.1/10)?
– graphics adapter (AMD/Intel/Nvidia)
– network connection type (wired/wireless/USB tethering/WiFi Direct)
Secondary Machine
– Viewer type (Android/iOS/Windows/HTML5)
– network connection type (wired/wireless/USB tethering/WiFi Direct)
Hi @myron,
Can you check if this only happens when there’s no screen activity on spacedesk viewer screen?
Can you please try to open a task manager window and put it on the spacedesk display so there’s a continuous screen activity on spacedeks display then leave the PC for few minutes and check if it will also disconnect.
What is the current quality/performance (Encoding color depth, Custom FPS, Rendering Color depth) settings on your spacedesk Android Viewer app?
Hi @jw,
Can you tell us why do you need localhost connection in windows viewer app?
Currently, we only allow it on HTML5 viewer.
Maybe we can consider supporting it on our windows viewer app but will not be available anytime soon.
We are currently very busy with higher prioritized features and bug fixes.
FYI: spacedesk will still perform image compression and decompression even in local host connection.
Hi @rowan,
Please follow the uninstall procedure on our user manual https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/
to properly remove spacedesk.
Hi @armor00,
iOS device Settings -> Privacy -> Local Network, if there’s spacedesk and if it’s enabled.
Hi @jw,
Please try the latest spacedesk Driver v1.0.11 released on the website.
The blue screen crash upon HTML5 viewer connect should be fixed on this version.
Looking forward to your feedback.
This is a strange issue. As of the time I post this message the Android App is at its latest version and using the Windows beta driver: 1.0.11
What happens is that I leave the computer alone for some number of minutes. About half an hour.
The Spacedesk app on the Android 5.1 tablet has it’s last picture display frozen on it. The space desk driver on Windows is on, but the second display (which is supposed to be the second monitor had vanished). Actually while I was typing this message it looks like it re-initialised the connection and just decided start working again without any action on my part.
This second screen loss is present in the last few versions.
At the moment that’s all I’ve got for you. Are there any logs I can send to you?
Hi @elder,
Based on your dxdiag info, you have splashtop virtual display installed on your primary machine.
On Splashtop Wired XDisplay Agent window -> Advanced, just uninstall the Virtual Display driver.
spacedesk should work now after you uninstall this driver.
Hi,
in Chrome you can install websites as apps. By doing this the website will open in a new separate window.
When for example installing Microsoft Teams Web-UI as Chrome app, it will open in a separate window that almost looks like a native Windows App. Most importantly: without URL bar.
However, when installing viewer.spacedesk.net as Chrome app, it will open WITH an URL bar.
Would be nice, if the viewer also would open without URL bar, when installed as Chrome app.
Julian
Hey,
Is it possible to differentiate between touch inputs and mouse events?
Currently, touching a display causes the mouse cursor to move to that location. This makes for some very weird and quite frankly, frustrating behaviour.
I assume a lot of people use spacedesk with their for phones as a second monitor. That’s a lot of touch displays that suffer from this.
Kind regards
Matisse
Hi @jw,
You can email us at AndroidApp@spacedesk.ph.
Hi @jw,
Which web browser did you use for HTML5 connection?
For further analysis, could you please send us the following:
– run dxdiag.exe on your primary machine, click “Save All Information”, save the output file (dxdiag.txt) and send it to us
– most recent dump file (*.dmp) of your BSOD with spacedesk which is located in C:\Windows\minidump folder.
Hi @multi-cat,
Ah I see.. currently spacedesk can only send one keyboard input at a time, it does not support entering words as a single input.
As for the disconnection issue upon entering special characters, we tried to reproduce it here but so far we are not successful.
To further analyze this issue, could you please download the spacedesk diagnostic script here, then extract it.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/z8h5llgi8c2ig3g/2021_spacedeskDiagnosticTool.zip?dl=0
Inside you will find spacedeskDiagnosticTool.cmd, just right-click it then run as administrator.
This script will start a debug view app to capture spacedesk debug traces.
On step 5 it will prompt you to reproduce the issue (by connecting the viewer app, send keyboard input with emojis or special characters to reproduce the disconnect issue), make sure to do this before pressing any key to continue.
After the script is done, a folder will be created on the same folder as the script file which contains various log files that we need for analysis.
Please right-click it -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file on your next reply.
Hi @xxperditorxx,
unfortunately, there’s no plan to develop spacedesk Server/Driver for Linux operating system.
Hi @dah,
I assume it’s currently on desktop extension mode.
And you want to use spacedesk for desktop duplication/mirroring, is that right?
You can easily switch to/from extension to duplication via display settings window.
Just open the Windows Settings -> System -> Display, then on Multiple displays dropdown menu, just select “Duplicate these displays”.
I am here to confirm that Spacedesk worked perfectly with a newer version of Winlock Professional.
So the solution would be to upgrade to a newer version if there are issues as mentioned in the 1st post.
Hi @multi-cat,
Thanks for the feedback.
Using software keyboard, how do you enter a word?
Isn’t it you have to enter letter by letter?
By the way, could you please try our most recent spacedesk Driver v1.0.10 from our website and check if you get the same disconnection issue whenever you enter these special characters or emojis?
Hi @imtek,
Thanks for sending the requested files.
Based on your screenshot, it seems that the spacedesk display is detached.
Could you please click the grayed out display (#1), then attach it by selecting “Extend these displays” on the Multiple displays dropdown menu below.
Will there be a Spacedesk server version for Linux (Ubuntu, Arch, and openSuse) in the near future?
Oh,I solved it.I think it’s my fault.
click the “ok” button at the bottom of the tips. Then you can use the software keyboard. It just a tips to tell you which version can support the software keyboard.Check “don’t show again” and click OK ,it won’t show again.
Now I can use the software keyboard happily.A little shortcoming that is the software keyboard only can enter one letter at a time. When I enter a word, only the first letter can be entered , the other letters is disappeared. The more serious is that enter some emoji and paired punctuation such as {} , the spacedesk will disconnect directly.I guess there are some incompatibilities between the spacedesk and my software keyboard.
yes@spacedesk Lea
is there any other way to invoke the software keyboard?
