I have a smart TV, and the resolution of the screen is 3840×2160. The spacedesk viewer recognized its native resolution as 1920×1080. When I configure setting->resolution->choose custom resolution and modify it to 3840×2160, it prompts it can’t be bigger than the native resolution.
I think that spacedesk viewer on TV can’t get the right resolution.
What should I do now?May 14, 2024 at 3:18 am #26870spacedesk NicoleKeymasterHi @amiga,
for clarification of the spacedesk viewer app settings:
if only “Use native android device resolution” option is checked
and
“Use custom resolution” option is unchecked,
then the resolution is only 1920×1080?What is the model and Android version of the smart TV?

the issue has been forwarded to our Android app developer and is being investigated.
June 28, 2024 at 6:39 am #27321spacedesk NicoleKeymasterHi @amiga,
we released a new version of the spacedesk Android viewer app.
Could you please try it and let us know if it fixes the issue?June 28, 2024 at 12:22 pm #27329amigaParticipantThe resolution is still 1920×1080.
Is there a possibility that apps works at FHD mode and external input(HDMI) and codec of video work at 4k mode?Attachments:

1, connect the TV by adb
adb connect xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
adb shell
2, modify resolution by command wm
wm size 3840×2160
3 run app on TV
Done!Attachments:

I have a similar issue using a Mi TV Stick – my TV has a resolution of 1920×1080 and spacedesk viewer doesn’t allow setting a resolution higher than 1280×720. Is there any patch in the work as I’m not really knowledgeable enough to fix it myself as amiga did?August 15, 2024 at 2:07 am #27899spacedesk NicoleKeymasterHi @mairunar,
I checked the specs of the Mi TV Stick and it does support 1080p resolution.
But, does the TV itself support 1080p?
Our spacedesk viewer only detects the given native resolution and gives a list of available custom resolution smaller than the native.August 15, 2024 at 5:41 am #27903MairunarParticipantIt’s an older Samsung but it does support 1080p.
However, it could have been an issue with that or with the stick interacting with the TV because when I asked a friend to try the adb method, there’s been a huge change in the main screen already. Even though the stick itself was set to display 1080p. After setting the resolution manually everything works fineAugust 15, 2024 at 8:12 am #27906spacedesk NicoleKeymasterHi @mairunar,
thank you for the feedback – glad that it now works on your side!
August 16, 2024 at 4:41 pm #27924raigerisParticipantI decided to add another monitor to my computer, so I tried using your program. However, I keep getting the same error. When trying to increase the resolution to 4K on my Android Philips TV, it always shows that the maximum allowed resolution is 1920×1080, which is Full HD. I keep trying to do this over Wi-Fi, but it doesn’t work.
