    When I run spacedesk_driver_Win_10_64_v1039_BETA, my computer crashes completely halfway along the installation. The driver control panel is there but the drivers are not present in the device manager.

    I see. Thanks for the feedback.
    Please try these steps for now:
    – click the Diagnostics on the left side panel
    – if Debug View is not available, please click the download button first
    – switch Diagnostic Collection ON (make sure to click Yes in the User Account Control box to proceed)
    – try to connect your viewer app and reproduce the black screen + disconnected error code 2-5-6
    – switch Diagnostic Collection OFF

    Then go to C:\Users\Public\Public Downloads and send us the Debugview.log and all spacedesk files in C:\Users\Public.
    And also send us the dxdiag.txt file by running the dxdiag.exe then click „Save All Information“.

    Hi

    I’ve tried all of those and it’s still not saving anything. The only thing it does it populate the diagnostic box below the buttons. I’ve tried multiple locations, desktop, my documents and it makes no difference.

    Hi @wadewilson,
    Thanks for sending the DebugView.log file we are currently analyzing it.
    However, may we also request the other diagnostic logs collected to further analyze the issue.
    Upon clicking the „Save All Information“ button, all diagnostic logs should be collected in the selected destination folder.

    By the way which spacedesk Windows Viewer did you use? Windows 7 (desktop) version or Windows 10 Microsoft Store version?

    Hi @wayniec,

    Could you please go to C:\Windows\system32 folder, then find the spacedeskConsole.exe and right-click run as Administrator, then try again the steps above.

    If it’s still empty, please try to copy the spacedeskConsole.exe to other location (e.g. on Desktop) then run it as administrator from there.

    I hope someone can help please

    Up untill 15 mins ago i had all three of my monitors working 2 connected via HDMI and spacedesk connecting the third something has now changed as when I connect spacedesk it kicks out one of my direct connected monitors. I really have no idea what changed

    I have a intel grahpics 4000 card which does support three monitors as long as one (as it was) is wireless ETC

    Again this was all good just 15 mins ago

    Hi @astrosert,
    Can you check on your Windows 10 tablet settings if auto-rotation is enabled? If yes, please disable it.
    spacedesk Windows Viewer currently does not support auto-rotation yet.

    If rotation is still wrong, please open the display settings window on your primary machine (PC) then try to set the correct display rotation/orientation manually.

    Could you please try the following:
    – open spacedesk Driver Console -> Control -> Clear Windows Display Settings
    – connect your Lenovo tablet (expect to see the tablet as Extension mode)
    – make sure that the position/orientation of the tablet is in Landscape mode
    – open the Display settings window and switch to Mirror/Duplicate mode or just press Windows Logo + P key then select „Duplicate“

    Unfortunately, the spacedesk server debug traces are missing in the DebugView.log file.
    Please try the steps again, and upon switching the Diagnostic Collection ON, make sure to click Yes in the User Account Control box to proceed.

    USB tethering connection is applicable if your secondary machine is Android or iOS device.
    Based on your statement, you have laptop and PC so I assume you have Windows as secondary machine.
    Therefore, you can try Ethernet crossover cable connection between your windows machines.

    Hello! sorry for taking months for replying I got so annoyed by this issue that I uninstalled spacedesk entirely x’3

    my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite (SM-T110) runs android 4.2.2

    and I couldn’t record the issue because I coudln’t find any app for reording screen on my android tablet. I can try pointing a camera to it and recording in that way… Actually i’m go do that and post a video to Youtube and I will post the list here when I do it…

    Thank you so much for the work, the apps it’s been very helpfull. For my experiences with spacedesk, i have some questions i’d like to know, and pardon me of my weird question because i am not a tech person.

    1. i am using my android tablet as my pc’s extended monitor, and mainly using USB Tethering for better performance. If i may ask, if i’m using a better usb cable (3.1 type c or thunderbolt), would it give a better transfer data and performance (fps, delay, etc)? my android has UFS 3.2 and my PC also has a type c 3.1 port too

    2. i’ve been looking at my ethernet network and its connection name is changing, from the first time i connect my android tab with USB Tethering, it says Network 1, but now its name is Network 18, it will always be updating as a new network. Can i reset this, or is there a feature or should it be a system thing to make it keeps the specific name?

    3. USB Tethering has speed cap in 425 MB, which is still ok, but i see that spacedesk is having a big update in 2022 Q4, especially there will be some kind of Pro version. Will it provide even better feature for better performance, low delay and latency etc?

    4. That might be related to our devices too, so i have device that support 3.1 usb type C, which can transfer data up to 10gbps, is it possible that using that as a type of transfer data, work like USB Tethering for a screen extending/mirroring feature? especially for devices that has not support MHL/DisplayPort, if not then,

    5. Can the USB Tethering speed increased based on the usb type’s and it’s maximal performance on transfering data of 10Gbps?

    Hello.
    Today I tried to install Spacedesk.

    When I install, all looks fine, but then I saw that there was no tray icon.
    After investigating, I found that the setup did not install the .exe into system32.

    I tested it on another computer, and it works fine.
    Why isn’t it working on my laptop? I really need this software soon..
    I hope really much that we can fix it..

    My laptop is Samsung Galaxy Book S.

    Hi

    I’ve been using spacedesk for weeks and it’s been great. so useful. today it’s connecting but all I’m getting is a black screen. I’ve read through all the posts I can, and I’ve updated the drivers on the windows machine.

    I’m using an ipad and it’s on the latest version. I’m un and reinstalled both apps, power cycled everything including the router. Nothing works.

    After around 2 minutes I get disconnected and error code 2-5-6, this suggests a display driver issue, but they’re all up to date.

    Any suggestions please and thank you!

    Hi Spacedesk Lea,

    I have the same case with the same issue.

    I tried to use my iMAC 27″ (2017) with a Radeon Pro 570 4096 MB as a secondary screen for my windows Laptop. Therefore I installed Windows 10 (via bootcamp) on my iMAC and did everything like Schneider97.

    I also have an established connection and can take over control but the (viewer)screen remains black

    Could you please help?

    Hi @justivanlee,

    It might be a Windows Update or GPU update behavior. We are not sure.
    Did you recently update your Windows System or your Graphics Adapter?

    Could you please try the „Clear Windows Display Settings“ button in the spacedesk Driver Console -> Control then try to connect first and switch to Extension mode (in case it’s duplicated), then check if it will still reset to Duplicated mode after reconnecting.

    It seems that the previous spacedesk uninstallation is hanging, specifically during spacedesk virtual HID driver unintallation.
    Please try to uninstall the previous spacedesk Driver manually by following the instruction in the Uninstallation on Windows Primary Machine -> Manual Uninstall (Troubleshooting Only) chapter in the user manual https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/.
    Especially Step 4: Uninstall spacedesk virtual HID Device.

    Hi,

    I’m currently running a PC with a Quadro RTX 4000 with 3x1080p projectors connected. I’d like to use my phone as a device to show a small portion of the combined 5760×1080 mosaic compound, however, it appears I cannot connect only when in a mosaic group.

    I’ve tried reinstalling/updating GPU drivers, uninstalling/disabling any conflicts such as NVIDIA Shadowplay, and I am still unable to connect in a Mosaic compound. I can connect outside of a surround/mosaic without any issues, just not whilst enabled.

    I thought perhaps sending a 5760×1080 signal might be a lot to transmit? However even when sending only a small 320×320 section of the screen, it still doesn’t connect properly.

    Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks!

    When Connect to Spacedesk Previously, I always setup to Extended Screen Mode on Windows 11, but now it always in Duplicate Screen Mode when connect, I need setting manually to Extended Screen mode on each connect.
    Please advise is it Windows Update issue?

    – open spacedesk Driver Console app and set Disconnect Delay to 0 then disable the Auto-reconnect settings in your Viewer apps
    – navigate to spacedesk Driver Console app -> Diagnostics
    – if DebugView is „Unavailable“, download it first
    – switch Diagnostic Collection ON (make sure to click Yes in the User Account Control box to proceed)
    – connect your 2 or more Viewer apps and wait for the disconnect issue to happen
    – switch Diagnostic Collection OFF
    – click „Save All Information“ button
    Then send us the updated diagnostic folder.

    Hi @tteuz,

    The „X“ button found on upper right corner of windows viewer when in full screen mode is currently intended for Windows (Surface) tablet that don’t have keyboard attached and no way to exit from full screen mode.
    We will improve this feature very soon.
    In case you want to disable it, we can only suggest 2 things:
    – only maximize the spacedesk viewer window instead of full screen mode, OR
    – if you are not using the touch feature, maybe you can disable it in viewer’s Functionality settings (temporarily), if you want to go to full screen mode.

    Ok so, i’m using spacedesk as secondary monitor interface on my windows tablet. Problem is that the tablet maintain a exit fullscreen button in the top right corner of the screen as presented on the attached screenshot of this post. Is there any workaround for getting rid of it ? the tablet itself is never used so any ideas are welcome XD

    Hi, any time I try to run a game from steam, spacedesk crashes, as does my game. This is very frustrating as I am using a headless pc set up, so every time this occurs I have to reboot the pc, and I am unable to play my game. Is there a fix, or potential third party program I can use to fix this? From looking online I’ve seen that this isn’t the only game on steam that spacedesk crashes. Thanks!

    Hello. I,m trying to use spacedesk app on my Poco m3 pro. Device resolution of 1080*2400.
    I’m not able to reach taskbar area while touching at very bottom of screen. Remote touches appears to be a bit higher than my physical touches: lower the touch bigger the offset. I’m attaching video demonstrating the issue. Please, note, that my real touches are also visible in the video, so you can see growing offset

    We noticed that the disconnect delay is currently set, did you also enabled the auto reconnect feature on the viewer settings? Maybe this might help.

    Yes, spacedesk Status is on.
    Both primary and secondary machines are on the same wifi.
    I was able to connect both devices via Bluetooth as well as ping them both separately.
    My network profile type is public.

    Could you please check the following:
    – Check if spacedeskService is running / Server status is ON in the Console window.
    – Are both primary machine secondary device connected on local area network?
    – Can you try to ping the IP address of your secondary machine from your primary machine and vice versa?
    To check if both machines are reachable to each other.
    – What is the current Network Profile on your primary machine, is it Public or Private?
    You can see it on Windows Settings -> Network & Internet -> Properties.

    For analysis, please send us the diagnostic files on your primary machine.
    Just open the spacedesk Driver Console -> Diagnostics -> Save All Information, then send us the whole diagnostic folder.
    Just right-click the folder -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file in your next reply.

    Can you also tell us what is your secondary machine? Is it Android/iOS/Windows/HTML5? And its current native and custom screen resolution set in the viewer app settings.

    Based on the logs, you have McAfee Firewall, please make sure you have included spacedeskService in the exception list to allow incoming and outgoing spacedesk connection.
    Just open your McAfee Firewall settings, click Ports and System Services then click the Add button.
    System Service Name: spacedeskService
    Local TCP/IP Ports: 28252
    Local UDP Ports: 28252
    Please check the attached screenshot for reference.

    If adding the spacedesk in the McAfee Firewall did not help, could you please run again the Diagnostic collection, this time with DebugView so we can check the spacedesk server debug logs.
    – run spacedesk Driver Console -> Diagnostics
    – click Download button if DebugView is „Unavailable“ (make sure it becomes „Available“ before proceeding to next step)
    – switch Diagnostic Collection ON
    – connect a spacedesk Viewer and wait for the issue to happen
    – switch Diagnostic Collection OFF
    – click Save All Information button
    Then send us the updated diagnostic folder.

    Unfortunately, no short term nor mid term plans for Linux support on spacedesk server.
    Protocol specification is not publicly available.

    You can only use your Linux machine as client via spacedesk HTML5 VIEWER http://viewer.spacedesk.net/.
    Keep in mind that this HTML5 VIEWER app on Linux is much slower than our native apps on Android and Windows.
    This is due to technical limitations of HTML5/Javascript.

    Hello,

    Yesterday I opened up Spacedesk app on my Chromebook, connected it, everything worked fine. I wake up today, open the app, and then it says Connected – Display off. So I go to the spacedesk website, I download the newest version. And when downloading it I get a popup saying Installation Failed. But downloading that, it deleted the old version I had installed. I opened up spacedesk driver console, and because it said instakkation failed, it might not have downloaded some crucial parts. So I tried connecting the app, connected display off again. I go to viewer.spacedesk.net and try connecting, Could not connect. And I tried to delete the old version, but now when I download the old version (I still have the installer) it also shows the error. I recall the error when downloading it previously.

    I am unable to get the correct 4:3 aspect ratio when using spacedesk on my iphone 13 pro max in windows 10. If I set 640×480 resolution it stretches the entire screen. It doen’t matter if I tick both set custom resolution and native iphone resolution or just tick custom resolution with 640×480 selected it still stretches. Any help anyone can provide would be great. Also, even if I select the correct resolution in my pc display settings it doesn’t seem to make a difference. Thanks!

    Hi @dark_jona,
    Just open your McAfee Firewall settings, click Ports and System Services then click the Add button.
    System Service Name: spacedeskService
    Local TCP/IP Ports: 28252
    Local UDP Ports: 28252
