    Update: The services manager shows an entry for spacedeskService that indicates a „Failed to read Description. Error Code 2“ message. I tried removing it Executing the sc delete SpacedeskService from an administrator command prompt but it does not remove this entry. FYI – Did this before and AFTER rebooting.

    Have you also checked these?

    2. Check if spacedeskService is running.
    Just run “services.msc”, find spacedeskService and check if the status is “Running”.

    3. Check in your taskbar’s notification area if spacedesk tray icon is visible.

    Probably because Apple officially does not support updates nor installs of new apps on the below mentioned old devices and operating systems any more.

    1. Check if you can find these files in your primary machine:
    C:\Windows\System32\spacedeskService.exe

    2. Check if spacedeskService is running.
    Just run „services.msc“, find spacedeskService and check if the status is „Running“.

    Hello Spacedesk Support,

    My current setup before I ask the question:

    28 iPad wall clients – iPad 2 models (iOS 9.3.5) running the Space Desk Multi Monitor app Version 1.0.44
    1 PC Server – Windows 10 running Spacedesk Driver console „Beta RC Version 1.0.57

    I just have an issue updating the spacedesk iPad app. I can not get it to install the latest version 1.62. I have even tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app but it will only install version 1.44 on the iPad 2’s. Is this the highest spacedesk version this iPad model can handle?

    Thinking that it was a limitation of the old iPad 2 model, I tried installing the spacedesk app on my iPad Pro 12.9 inch running iPadOS 16. This iPAd Pro is completely separate from the wall and is not managed by any type of iPad MDM and it actually installs the space desk app version 1.0.49, which isn’t even listed on the versions list specified on the apps home page.

    Another strange thing to mention regarding the iPad spacedesk app is that I use an iPad MDM called Mosyle to help manage all 28 iPad 2 models, and it thinks the SpaceDesk app installed are all version 1.58. It also notices that the app is considered „outdated“ but 1.58 is also not listed on the apps home page. Plus, checking the app on the iPad itself it still shows 1.0.44. I have tried to uninstall/reinstall the app on the iPad 2 models but since 1.0.49 was a fresh install on the iPad Pro, I am pretty confused on what version I should be getting.

    Thank you very much for sending the trace log.
    It seems that the installer immediately returns with 1610.

    1610 is equivalent to ERROR_BAD_CONFIGURATION – The configuration data for this product is corrupt. Contact your support personnel.

    Could you please check if you have System Restore enabled (see the attached screenshot)?
    And try to restore to an earlier point before you attempted v1057 (earlier than 2/2/2023 18:12:58).

    Based on the logs, spacedesk v1057 installation succeeded.
    And you can find the spacedeskConsole.exe in C:\Windows\System32 directory.

    Are you sure that the installer fails? Did it show any error message?
    Can you please also send us the screenshot of the installer asking for spacedeskConsole?

    Thank you very much for sending the diagnostic logs.
    We are currently analyzing it.
    Based on the logs, the issue happened after almost 13 hours of connectivity, is that right?
    Is Audio also enabled while videowall is connected? If yes, can you also try without remote Audio and check if it will still switch off.

    Are you sure MAWi server is not running when spacedeskService switched OFF?
    Did you manually stop the MAWi service in the services.msc before trying to reproduce the issue?

    Hi @vilo,

    We are glad that it’s working now on your side.

    Just for your info (about the error you encountered): looks like the spacedeskService was hanging on #2 (upon switching ON is console app).
    So when you first tried to update to latest version 1057, the msi uninstalls the hanging spacedeskService which requires a reboot (based on the logs) which you didn’t do (because I assume there’s no prompt message) and that’s why it cannot install the new spacedeskService and triggers an installation error.

    In case you encounter again the spacedeskService hang (where spacedesk Driver console cannot switch back ON), just let us know so that we can analyze it.

    I see… that might be the problem..
    Uninstalling via registry editor is not recommended (for advanced users only).

    Next, please send us the msi trace during uninstallation using the v1050 msi.
    Please use the spacedeskMsiTraceGenerate.zip from: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vr17lj6n63k52rh/2022_spacedeskMsiTraceGenerate.zip?dl=0,
    copy the v1050 msi installer inside the folder, then right-click (-> run as administrator) the get_trace.bat and enter the v1050 msi file name and try to uninstall/remove again so that it will generate a new spacedeskmsi_trace.txt, then please send it to us.

    Hi @stefano-p,
    Then in your case, desktop duplication is disabled because of Windows limitation as per our details in the user manual https://forum.spacedesk.netdt-documentation/troubleshooting/known-issues-problems-and-limitations/windows-10-desktop-duplication-mirror-option-not-available/.

    It’s either you upgrade your current video card to a newer model OR downgrade from GeForce 610M to Microsoft Basic Display (which we don’t strongly recommended).
    Using Microsoft Basic Display as your graphics adapter might cause some issues during desktop image updates (e.g. trailing windows, left over images, screen flickering, etc.).

    Hi @stefano-p,

    Only if your graphics adapter is old with WDDM version below than 2.0.
    You can check it on your machine by running „dxdiag.exe“, go to Display tab and check the WDDM version of your display driver.

    This is not the case in @ace172’s machine, his graphics adapter is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti with WDDM 2.7 version.

    I found this:

    Desktop duplication of primary monitor to other displays is disabled in Windows display settings of Windows 10 with old version of graphics adapter (< WDDM 2.0). Just download the latest driver version from its website OR if it did not work try to downgrade the graphics driver to Microsoft Basic Display driver via device manager.

    Hi @madds,

    Thanks, but this only contains debugview log file.
    Please follow the steps above on how to get the diagnostic logs via spacedesk Driver Console.
    spacedesk Driver Console app generates a diagnostic folder name like “2023-02-10-XXXXX-spacedeskRuntimeDiagnostics” (which contains all necessary diagnostic log files), then this is the folder that you should compress (zipped).

    I keep getting the error code (2-5-6) and error info (0-5-8) after I open a tab or game. It disconnect and then I have to continue connecting and connecting. I already went through all my firewalls and even looked up solutions and I keep thinking I fixed everything. The debug I don’t know how it works at all. Looking through the forums I cannot understand most of the things being said.
    I have the DRIVER Beta Version 1.0.57 and my drivers are up to date already. I disabled NVidia like it said on the desktop app and the files I cannot find them so I’m assuming I do not have them.
    Can I get some help in figuring out how to make it work?

    When you said „a normal (cabled) second monitor“ you meant HDMI monitor, right?
    And the current main monitor in your machine is DVI (based on your spacedeskDiag)…

    I’m wondering if this behavior only happens in Windows machine with DVI monitor/s,
    we have a similar case here: https://forum.spacedesk.netforums/topic/duplicate-desktop-choice-not-available-for-spacedesk-monitor/
    which also has DVI monitors, he solved the problem by reinstalling Windows 10 Pro.

    Maybe something is triggering the Windows 10 to disable the mirroring option with DVI monitors.
    Anyway, we will keep an eye on this issue and investigate more for future reference.

    Hi @tartiak22,

    Thanks for confirming that the MAWi server is causing the spacedesk server to crash (OFF).
    If possible, can you provide us the diagnostic logs upon spacedesk server crash?
    There are some missing log files in the previous diagnostics you sent.

    Please make sure to follow the steps correctly:
    – open spacedesk Driver Console -> Diagnostics
    – if Debug View is not available, please click the download button first
    – switch Diagnostic Collection ON (make sure to click Yes in the User Account Control box to proceed)
    – connect all viewer apps and then run the MAWi server and wait for the spacedesk Server to switch OFF
    – switch Diagnostic Collection OFF
    – click Save All Information button (click YES if the message box asks you to restart the console app as administrator)
    – spacedesk Driver Console will restart for a few seconds, then proceed by clicking the Save All Information button again
    PS: Saving all information will take a few seconds, then please send us the whole folder which contains all the diagnostic logs collected.
    Please right-click the folder -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file in your next reply.

    As for the displays not broadcasting anything without MAWi, can’t you just manually drag/move the HD movie player to your videowall displays to broadcast it?
    Just open the Windows display settings to know the position of the Videowall display from your main monitor and just simply move the player window in there.

    WiFi Direct raised, but due to the limitations of Windows 10, it cannot distribute You-Fi 5 GHz, only 2.4 GHz, which greatly limits the connection speed.

    On Low Bandwidth Notification:
    happens constantly, even when the network is free, there is no load, the load only from the remote monitor is about 80 megabits / second. Notifications pop up all the time, the network load does not exceed 10%.

    The AMD driver fails in the following order: 1. The low network bandwidth notification appears several times.
    2. Next, a notification about a network break appears.
    3. The configuration is automatically resumed several times.
    4. A message about an AMD driver crash appears.
    As a result, the display configuration fails, the frame rate is limited – you have to restart the PC to resume work.
    These failures occur 1 time per day, sometimes 1 time in 2 days.
    Notifications about low bandwidth appear every few hours (with no torrents or network load).

    Despite changing the image quality to the lowest (the quality slider all the way to the left, color 4.2.0, 16 bit, 30 fps), the network load is only 3-5 megabytes / second (it shows 12-13 on the full graph), it still appears notification of low network speed and unstable connection. Appears after several hours (sometimes minutes) of work. Although the load is minimal, the response of the wireless screen is high.
    Also, the AMD graphics driver crashed several times with an error. Before updating to the latest version, this was not the case. The problem with torrents persists.
    So the latest update:
    1. provides incorrect network bandwidth data (the error appears despite the high network bandwidth and stable operation of devices).
    2. Most often, after a bandwidth error, the wireless screen falls off.
    3. causes the AMD graphics driver to crash, after which a hard restart of the PC is required.

    Run the “MicrosoftProgram_Install_and_Uninstall.meta.diagcab”, select Uninstalling.
    If “spacedesk Windows DRIVER” is not on the program list, just select “Not Listed” then paste the product code of the spacedesk Driver v1050 here: {F2F9F523-C420-4596-BBA7-987BF40E5583}

    After that, please reboot your primary machine then try again to install the latest spacedesk msi installer from the website.

    Is the issue still happening with the most recent spacedesk Driver v1057?

    For the stretched screen, please try to switch the resolution of your iPad screen via display settings of your primary machine. From the native resolution to 1920×1080 (a few times maybe).

    For the mirror option, have you tried with Windows logo key + P to switch to duplicate?

    Did you recently upgrade your Windows 10 operating system?
    Could you please check if you have any pending Windows update in your PC settings?

    Who’s getting 2 different IP address? Andoid phone or your PC?

    So i am connected to the internet using a USB-connection to my android phone to share wifi and right now i am having some problems with this. They are getting 2 diffrent ip adresses but they are still on the same network.

    Hi @brianlinder2,

    Are you opening 2 instances of spacedesk Windows Viewer on the same PC and connecting it with different resolution?
    Which spacedesk Windows Viewer app are you using? Is it the Windows 10 Microsoft store version? Or the Windows 7 Desktop version 0.9.39?

    In any case, there’s no command shortcut to save the session with different resolution settings.
    spacedesk Windows Viewer app only remembers the last configuration.
    If you like, you can open one Windows 7 Viewer app with resolution #1 set, and open the Windows 10 Viewer (from Microsoft Store) with resolution #2 set.

    For the last 4 days, from time to time (1-2 times a day, more often at night, when there is no load on the network at all), such a notification appears (low network bandwidth), it has never appeared before.
    1. the configuration of the network and devices has not changed (previously, even when there were disconnections, such a notification did not appear);
    2. as I wrote above – the network is 1 Gigabit / sec, according to Windows, the download does not exceed 70-110 Megabit / second, 10-12% of the maximum bandwidth, the Wi-Fi router is 5GHz, 887 Megabit / second, the tablet is connected to Wi-Fi 5GHz, shows connection speed is 150 Mbps, the current connection speed of 80 – 110 Mbps is displayed in the status bar of the tablet.
    3. After a notification about low network bandwidth appears, a break occurs (after a few minutes), then the connection is restored automatically.
    4. lowering the quality to 4.2.0, 30fps, 16 bit does not give any result (network load drops to 60-80 megabits / second), but there are also notifications a couple of times a day about low bandwidth and the connection is cut off. Changing the quality from maximum to minimum and vice versa – does not affect connection drops and bandwidth notifications in any way.
    What could be the problem?

    Hi @arut_m1,
    For now, just click the View -> Hide task bar icon, then close it.

    Notes:
    1. This option will only prevent the window from popping up in front of your screen, but it will still be in the taskbar and in minimized mode.
    2. This setting will only take effect during run time, once you reboot your primary machine, it will reset.

    #1 seems to contradict its setting name „Hide task bar icon“ so we might eventually fix it.
    It should be hidden in the task bar and minimized it to tray.

    Could you please check the following:
    1. Check your WiFi router settings if it has client isolation enabled.
    This setting prevents direct communication between connected devices/computers.
    2. Do you have VPN (Virtual Private Network) active? If yes, please disable it.
    3. Are you using any third-party antivirus/firewall? if yes, please add spacedesk in the exception list or ‚Allow List‘
    4. Check on your iOS Viewer Settings -> Privacy -> Local Network, if spacedesk is on the list and enabled?

    GREAT PRODUCT, thank you!

    I always need the same two SpaceDesk windows open, with different resolutions. Each time, I have to open SpaceDesk, select the right resolution and connect. It works.

    But, is there a way to have a command shortcut or save a session so I don’t have to go through all of these steps each time?

    Hi, it takes 2 precise taps to disconnect, so a 3rd confirmation is not really needed. It would be nice to disable that.

    We are trying to reproduce this on our side over a stable network (while downloading torrents), but so far we haven’t encountered the disconnect issue.

    In the meantime, you can also try connecting your 2 Android tablets simultaneously via USB cable to prevent disconnect issue.

    No, there were no such notifications. The only notification is an error: „lost connection to wireless screen“, which appears when the connection is lost. Up to this point there are no problems. After a few seconds (most often), the connection is restored without additional manipulations.
    With an active wireless monitor, downloading a torrent and other network activity, the network load does not exceed 100-120 Mbps, the entire network is 1 Gbps, i.e. throughput is 8-10 times higher than the current load.
    The fastest way to achieve connection loss is in the following scenario:
    1. The wireless monitor is active on the PC;
    2. PC is downloading 3-4 torrents;
    3. Connect to a PC via remote access (eg AnyDesk).
    In this case, the dump occurs in 99% of cases, sometimes it does not recover itself, you have to break the connection and reconnect.

    The router is powerful, with a bandwidth above 5 Gigabit / s, but anyway, I assumed that the reason could be in it and installed 1 more separate router, which distributes the network only for the tablet on which the wireless monitor is active, does nothing else.

    The problem persisted.

    Hi @flyingmonkey,

    We have a previous spacedesk users that verified that MS Flight Simulator does NOT support/recognize touchscreen input in general.
    And according to that user, it can only recognize mouse pointer input from a remote display.

    We can only suggest either of the following:
    1. Use mouse touch which automatically activates on your second viewer connection.
    Current spacedesk’s touchscreen only supports in first spacedesk display, so on your first viewer app just activate touch screen first, then connect a second viewer app where you can move your flight simulator app and try to send the mouse touch input from there.

    2. Select relative touch input in your viewer app settings (the touch input will behave as mouse pad for your primary machine).

    As for Windows calc and MS Edge, it should recognize the remote touch input (absolute).
    Are you sure it did not work with these apps?

    1. Spacedesk server on Windows 10;
    2. connected at 1 Gigabit/sec to a Wi-Fi router, tablet connected at 5 GHz as a second monitor in extension mode.
    Everything works properly until you start downloading torrents (the more torrents at the same time, the faster the connection disappears with a notification of a loss of connection). And interruptions begin in the form – disconnected – connected, sometimes the tablet itself does not want to connect back, you have to manually disconnect the connection and restore it. Sometimes this happens if you open an online video in a browser on a computer.
    If you do not touch the computer, do not download torrents – everything works stably for weeks.
    At the same time, the network from the machine to the router is entirely 1 Gigabit, according to Windows, the network load does not exceed 100-120 Megabits in both directions…

    If you copy something heavy over the network from computer to computer, or watch a 80-100 GB movie from a server on a set-top box (another PC), everything is ok, nothing falls off, everything is stable.
    The situation has been observed since 1 day of using the Spacedesk application, with updates to the current version, outages have become less frequent, but they are still observed.

    Yesterday I connected 2 tablets to a PC, one via USB, the second via Wi-Fi, downloaded 2-3 torrents, after 3 minutes the tablet turned off via Wi-Fi (a notification about the loss of connection on the PC was displayed), the USB tablet continued to work stably.
    At the moment the connection with the tablet is disconnected, the Internet on the PC also temporarily disappears, as soon as the connection is restored, the Internet continues to work stably.

    Have you tried dragging the opened window to the extension display?
    Just open the display settings window so that you can see the position of the spacedesk display from your main display then drag the window to that direction.

    Thanks for sending the diagnostic logs.
    Could you please try with the most recent spacedesk Driver v1057 which we recently released and send us the updated diagnostic logs.
    Please follow the steps below:
    – open spacedesk Driver Console -> Diagnostics
    – if Debug View is not available, please click the download button first
    – switch Diagnostic Collection ON (make sure to click Yes in the User Account Control box to proceed)
    – connect all viewer apps and wait until the disconnect issue happen
    – switch Diagnostic Collection OFF
    – click Save All Information button (click YES if the message box asks you to restart the console app as administrator)
    – spacedesk Driver Console will restart for a few seconds, then proceed by clicking the Save All Information button again
    PS: Saving all information will take a few seconds, then please send us the whole folder which contains all the diagnostic logs collected.
    Please right-click the folder -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file in your next reply.

    On which display does the offset issue happen?
    Is it in your actual main monitor (3440 x 1440)/display 1?
    Or is it in spacedesk display connected (display 2 or 3)?

    Can you please try the most recent spacedesk Driver v1056 and generate an updated diagnostic logs (via spacedesk Driver Console -> Diagnostics -> Save All Information).
    Please make sure that spacedeskDiag.txt will be included in the diagnostic folder.
