The Tailscale VPN is always active, even on reboot.

Yes, I have restarted the viewer app, I have tried quite throughly to fix the issue.

The IP that is detected is on the server where Tailscale was first installed and configured.

As a workaround, I have added a hostname to the viewing PCs hosts file and added the Tailscale IP.

Although, on my network I am not noticing any latency with 1920 resolution and 60fps in full colour.

This would be good for the windows client if you can use HW accelerated x265 or x265 encoding on Windows PC.

If anyone else has the same problem all I had to do was manually input the server’s Tailscle IP address.

It would be good if you can choose which adapter the server binds too as it doesn’t allow me to manually enter the correct local IP address which would bypass Tailscale.

Update – it only exhibits this problem when the server is running on Tailscale. If the client has the Tailscale network running, it still finds the correct IP.
