    Hello,
    Thank you for the wonderful app. Thanks to Spacedesk, I’ve had a great experience.
    Suddenly, around 10 p.m. on February 18, 2024, Japan time, I found that while I can still connect via USB with my Android tablet, I’m unable to connect wirelessly.
    I’ve confirmed that there are no issues with the firewall settings of my security software. Even after updating to the latest version and reinstalling the app for the secondary machine, the issue persists.
    Could you please advise on the possible causes and solutions?

    Hi @woodlawntech,
    It appears that this is the result of the keyboard update in version 2.1.11. During network connection, you are now required to enable the encryption option for keyboard inputs. You can use the encryption feature when you have an Android commercial or business license.

    If you still wish to use it for free, you must connect your Android device to your Windows 11 laptop using a USB cable.

    Have you tried the suggestions on our previous reply?
    Could you also try reinstalling spacedesk Driver?
    Restart your Primary and secondary machine?

    We cannot view the files you have sent due to file type and size error.
    Can you maybe compress it to a zip folder?
    Please right-click the folder -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file in your next reply, or maybe send it to us by uploading it to any cloud storage app like google drive or dropbox and send us the link.

    please make sure to reproduce the issue and follow the diagnostic collection steps in our 2nd reply.

    We mirror a Windows 11 laptop wirelessly to 4 Android Fire TVs, via MonitorsAnywhere & the Spacedesk app on those TVs. The laptop mirrors a Google Slide presentation to those TVs in full screen Slideshow mode. The remote controls for those TVs are used to scroll through the slide presentations via the directional controls on the remotes. However, upon updating the Spacedesk driver today to v2.1.11, the remotes can no longer scroll through those slides. The slides can be advanced via the laptop, but the remotes no longer work in this manner. Just to be clear, this functionality was working today right up until initiating the v2.1.11 driver update…this was the only change made, & now this specific remote functionality is dead.

    Is there a reason why this would’ve happened? I’ve tried repairing the driver install, but the remotes still do not work. They were working on the previous Spacedesk driver version (2.0.8.x I believe, installed about a month ago). I can’t find a way to rollback the current version to that prior working version, nor can I find where to download any prior driver versions directly from Spacedesk.

    Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

    Win 11, Spacedesk 2.1.11, Samsung galaxy tab A with S pen, Android 8.1
    Using power point 2007 (a bit old I know, but heavily customized and payed for)
    The problem is when in the slide show on a projector, using the pen to write on the slides (on the tablet) the writing does not show on the projector, only on the presenter view, plus whenever I remove the pen away of the screen the slide turns to the next one.
    I would like to be able to write and annotate on the projected slides and do the next/previous slide either by swiping or using the arrows on the presentation screen NOT by the pen touching the screen.
    Appreciate your help.

    -What version is your USB port? the reason for this could be that while USB 2.0 ports are compatible with USB 3.0 it will still be limited at the transfer speed of your USB 2.0 port hence it is being recognized as 2.0

    the real issue here is the non-working cable when spacedesk is plugged..
    the text file DebugView.log is missing from the files you sent. did you make sure to reproduce the issue before you turn off the diagnostic collection?
    Could you please send us the files again? this time, make sure to reproduce it using your 3.0 cables. just follow the steps provided on my previous reply.

    it is also worth mentioning that the Current spacedesk’s touchscreen is only supported in the first spacedesk display, when you connect a 2nd (or multiple viewers) it will use mouse touch. could this be your issue? please note that this behavior is completely expected.

    I can get one connected with both touch screens. Actions:
    1. I will try to disconnect both touch screens and see what happens.
    2. I will also try rebooting the ipads.

    es it closes when I am on the second ipad (whichever one is not recognizing as a touch monitor). Its weird bc it worked out of the box flawlessly, not sure how this happened. I will report back. Thankful for your willingness to jump in on the help!

    For clarifications, you have five hardwired monitors + two iPads (spacedesk) as monitors. two of the five monitors are touchscreen capable, is that right?
    „will only recognize one at a time as a touch screen“
    -could you try connecting iPad #1 together with the two touchscreens if the touchscreen is working? then disconnect and try iPad #2 if it is also working.
    – in case one of them is not working, please try checking the input settings of the iOS viewer if the touch screen is enabled. just go to the gear icon below -> Input devices

    „When I go to tablet PC settings and try to tell it which ones are touch screens it faults out before getting to all monitors“
    -During the Tablet PC Settings, does it close when it’s time for the iPad monitor? Could you please try going through the iPad screen first?
    -Also, could you try excluding some monitors, or even the other two touchscreens before doing the Tablet PC Settings?
    – rebooting your iPads may also help

    Hi @rouven,
    You can use the same license on multiple devices, your license is tied to your email address, not to the device itself.
    The limit on how many licensed viewers you can connect simultaneously depends on your current license bundle, which can be found on the Concurrent Access Licensing page on your Android viewer.
    For example, if you currently have the „one concurrent connection“ license, you can use it on multiple devices, but only one at a time. To connect multiple devices simultaneously, you would need to upgrade to a license offering a higher number of concurrent connections, such as 2-5 concurrent connections.
    This applies no matter if simultaneously connected to the same or to multiple different Primary Windows Machines.

    FYI: The number of simultaneous connections is currently not enforced. We might do so in the mid-term to long-term future.

    That is fantastic news thank you. I don’t really understand the license as it’s written so I will have to get clear what it means before I buy anything.
    The license is just per connection, correct? Or is there a limit as to how many different host devices you are allowed to use Spacedesk on as a host device, or the license is only for one single phone/device so you need another license to use a different phone/device to connect?
    The wording just confuses me. I have 2 pc’s and a tablet and phone. As I understand it, I can have Spacedesk hosting on both pc’s but only one of my devices can connect at a time to any of the pc’s under a license right?

    It works! Kinda! I never EVER would have guessed amazon appstore runs on non-amazon hardware. Thank you!

    The refresh rate is suuuper stuttery… is there any way to make it fast? As a second monitor I set it to 1920×1920 and it works… but yeah… probably just the video hardware can’t handle that resolution too well? Still work for slideshows and stuff though! Could it be faster with a wired connection?

    Not only did it WORK, everybody out there reading… it worked the first time. Fresh outta the box. A billion other things running when I installed… no refresh of PC… just… installed the driver and the viewer (already running on the app) saw it immediately. Good stuff!

    [edit: Also… is there any way to get the android button out of there? I have a windows think fullscreened on the „monitor“ and it has the giant button on the right, which I can minimize, but it’s still a visible thing in the upper right corner?]

    Hey spacedesk folks!

    OK so I’ve got a… device. It’s a picture frame of sorts (nano-frames)… running android 7.1.2 (that I can’t upgrade).

    The google play store doesn’t recognize the device at all, so I can’t install from there, and the html5 viewer in Brave browser gives an error about secure connections and SSL versions.

    Is there an APK to install it that isn’t from shady APK sites?

    I can get files onto the frame, and use a mouse and keyboard on the frame to poke around at internet sites and things and do slideshows of my files or online ones… but it’d make my whole process 10000x easier if I can get spacedesk on there and essentially use it as a second monitor from across the room.

    Many thanks if there’s any solution! (I’m a dev so don’t be afraid to include like… usb debugging and various nonsense.)

    Hi,

    I use a tablet samsung S9+ and a phone samsung s21.
    When S9+ is USB and s21 is Wifi.. all is ok but wifi is slow and sometimes very slow.
    So I try to connect both via USB.
    I see on the spacedesk Desktop panel both are now on USB (USB(2 connected))
    and I removed Wifi from the s21 to make sure it’s only USB.
    But the s21 displayes a black screen.
    In display settings (windows10) I see the s21 screen greyed out.
    in the spacedesk Desktop panel s21 says : „Display mode Detached“
    where the s9+ says „Display mode Extension mode“
    If I remove the s9+ USB then s21 goes in „extension mode“ and I can use it.
    Not sure what I need to do to get both in extension mode ?

    First of all, thank you to the developers. This is great software!

    my set up is: windows 11 pc running MSFS 2020.
    Plus 4 old iPads, that are instrumentation panels for msfs

    When the iPads connect via Wi-Fi, they work 100% and are seen by windows pc as 4 monitors.

    Since I want to avoid Wi-Fi congestion and keep display rates high, I connect the iPads via usb and turn off Wi-Fi.

    Connection via usb, works 50% of the time.sometimes it works if I reboot iPads and pc. Sometimes after 10 minutes the iPads ask me if I want to connect.

    Do you have any suggestions on how I can make them connect via usb 100%?

    We actually have virtual webcam driver software and a virtual microphone driver software on shelf and ready to be used. We developed these for corporate customers, but so far we never had time to integrate them into our own software spacedesk. Corporate customers are keeping us too busy always. But who knows, maybe we will be able to release it later in 2024…

    spacedesk Android USB should work with both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports and cables.
    Could you also try plugging it into your USB 3.0 port and check spacedesk Android Control in the device manager if there are any errors (indicated by an exclamation mark)?

    if there is no error…
    Please send us the Diagnostic logs of this Issue.
    Just follow the steps below:
    – open spacedesk Driver Console -> Diagnostics
    – if Debug View is not available, please click the download button first
    – switch Diagnostic Collection ON (make sure to click Yes in the User Account Control box to proceed)
    – please reproduce the issue using the faulty cables
    – switch Diagnostic Collection OFF
    – click Save All Information button (if a message box appears, just click No to proceed)
    PS: Saving all information will take a few seconds, then please send us the whole folder which contains all the diagnostic logs collected.
    Please right-click the folder -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file in your next reply.

    Could you tell us what is the error you have encountered?
    It could be because you cannot use the latest spacedesk Android app without using Google Play store anymore. You can only download the spacedesk app via playstore.
    This changes is due to the implementation of the updated licensing agreement.

    I have 2 USB 2.0 cables and 2 USB 3.0 cables. I found that when I use the USB 2.0 cable, my Android tablet can be normally recognized by Spacedesk on Windows. However, when I use the USB 3.0 cable, it shows that the number of devices is 0. I can confirm that my USB 3.0 cable is good because its other functions can be used normally. Also, I am sure that the settings of my Windows computer and Android tablet are correct, and the USB interface used is the same. The only difference is the USB cable. If I slowly insert the USB 3.0 TYPE-A, it can be recognized at this time, but the reason for this recognition is that slow insertion will be recognized as USB 2.0. So, does the current Spacedesk indeed not support connection using USB 3.0?

    Hello, I have the following problem: When I connect an iPhone 8 via wire and connect to a computer, I have an excellent picture and there are no lags, but when I connect an ipad mini 2 instead of an iPhone 8, I start to experience lags, although the computer is set to 60 hz and there is no such problem on iPhone 8 I connected via USB 3.2 gen 1

    1. For both USB Android and USB iOS clients:
    – The connection ends when the server ( PC ) goes to sleep/shut down. The spacedesk viewer app must be opened again to restart the connection.
    – The connection continues during server ( PC ) monitor sleep, (Current bug: Last frame update is shown on the client instead of „Connected-Display Off“). Frame updates will show again once the monitor wakes up.

    2. Yes, USB connection in iOS is supported. Please check the CONNECTING A NEW DISPLAY MONITOR OVER THE USB CABLE -> Direct USB Cable Connection ->iOS USB Cable Connection chapter in the user manual – https://manual.spacedesk.net/iOSUSBCableConnection.html
    -Unfortunately, unlike Android viewers, iOS viewers cannot automatically establish connection during app initialization.
    you will have to confirm the permission dialog box to connect via USB everytime you open the app.

    Hi.
    The KindleFire is currently connected via USB and is in a state where it can perform the ‚automatically start app when Windows PC is switched on, automatically connect‘ operation.
    When the PC is off, it is set to keep the home screen displayed and not perform screen sleep.
    Therefore, we would like to know if the following can be achieved.

    1. from screen sleep (screen off), when the PC starts up, can it automatically recover, start up apps and automatically connect?
    2.I own an iPad mini4, can I connect it via USB as well, and can I automatically connect it when the PC is switched on?

    Currently, when I try to use it on my iPad, I have to tap the connection confirmation dialogue, and the app itself quits when disconnected, so I have to start the app and tap the dialogue in order to display it again.

    If there is a better way, please let me know.

    We had to move your replies to a different topic to avoid confusion due to you having a completely different issue.

    Based on the traces we found 2 possible reasons for this issue:
    – spacedeskDriverBus is missing in your machine.
    – your client is showing a ‘detached’ status.

    Could you maybe try the following?
    1. re-install your spacedesk vDriver v2109
    2. open the Windows Display Settings on your primary machine and click the detached/greyed-out client then just attach it by selecting extend.
    You can also refer to our CONFIGURATION AND SETTINGS
    -> Windows Driver (Primary Machine) -> Desktop Extension or Desktop Duplication (mirror) Settings in Display Control Panel chapter in our manual –

    Hi,

    I got the same problem, on 2 different Ipads I get the message „connected – display off“
    – I deleted the app and reinstalled it
    – I deleted the app from windows and deleted it
    – I re-installed the nvidia GPU drivers
    – I am running the latest versions, windows 11 app: 2.1.09 / the ios app 1.0.51

    also i tried to connect directly with USB cable, I installed Itunes, but through usb I dont see the device.

    I also attached a logfile, i hope this can help a bit 🙂
    I think I prefere to use both options since using the usb, it will probably be faster, and I want to use it in FS2020.

    I also have no incompatible software installed 🙂

    I’ve seen the black bar issue in many older Android apps that don’t support modern aspect ratios (19:9, 19.5:9, 20:9)

    Even if you use 1280 x 720 resolution, the black bar will remain and the image will not be centered. On a tablet with a 16:9 aspect ratio there is no such problem. I tried the same resolution in a similar application SuperDisplay, there is no black bar.

    It seems you are using resolutions for your main screen and spacedesk Viewer that don’t have the same aspect ratio.

    Hi @astraios,
    are you having black bars on the side of your tablet screen? if yes,
    your main screen resolution and spacedesk Viewer resolution need to have the same aspect ratio (e.g. 4:3). Example for 4:3 aspect ratio: Main display screen 1920×1440 and viewer display screen 800×600. they both have the same aspect ratio.

    You can change the resolution of spacedesk Viewer in spacedesk Viewer app menu.
    In case of Desktop extension:
    You can go to spacedesk Android viewer settings then check if „Use native android device resolution“ is checked if not, please check it -> connect your android viewer to the server -> go to windows settings -> select the display # of your device -> go to resolution and change it to the native resolution of your android device.

    In case of mirror/duplication:
    Please go to spacedesk Android Viewer -> Settings -> Resolutions -> Choose Custom Resolution, please choose the resolution that matches your device’s aspect ratio – the one with (*) mark.

    The issue does not appear on Wifi, only on Android USB cable connection. Not present on lower resolutions either.

    also, could you please send us a screenshot/photo of the screen tear issue?

    I took a screenshot video with the snipping tool but the issue was not present on the video, but present on the screen, then I solved the issue not sure how by surprise so I do not have one.

    The tearing was 1, 2 or 3 horizontal bands, from side to side, on the middle sections of the screen, never touching the bottoms or tops. The bands widths were approximately a 4th of the display, and they were frozen on an earlier frame from the video for a few seconds and then played the video with a delay.

    Hey mate. Thanks for the answer.

    Indeed, there are no issues in other devices, only the Mipad 5.

    I have done as you said, and yes, it only happens on 4k resolution.

    I have done more troubleshooting:

    1. Wiped data and reinstalled the APKs to the January 23rd version, I missed that update somehow.

    2. Set the custom resolution to the resolution of the Mi Pad 5 and disable native resolution, same for the Samsung Tab.

    3. Adjusted the compression in the Windows Spacedesk program to 92 for the Mi Pad and 82 on the Galaxy tab, In the past this compression gave me bad image quality, but now, I suspect thanks to the latest update and resolution setting the quality is good and I’m getting a way for fluid motion than before, great in sports.

    4. I have learned that my display is hardwired to the AMD integrated IGPU, so the Nvidia control panel does not do much, no remux to switch either. In addition, my AMD CPU is not compatible with Freesync, so there is that.

    At this point, it was working well but when adjusting the scaling of the Mi Pad in Windows display settings the problem came back again, I rebooted and left it at 100%, as recommended by Windows, and the problem went away.

    I rebooted and after a while of 100% scaling I switched back to 250% to try and there is no tearing for now, Im not sure what can cause this miracle, but it is surely welcome.

    I also have Vsync set to Fast and Superresolution to 4, just to try out things I do not remember when I set it up that way but it was in the last batch of changes, I won’t be changing any more settings since I finally managed to make it work, the problem is that I changed so many things that I do not know what fixed the issue, which Im sure will come back to bite me later on.

    I’m encountering this issue where the screen tears only on the Mi Pad 5.

    I have other devices working well, such as Mi Note 10 Lite, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 and some more that I tested.

    The resolution matches the native, 2560 x 1600, the refresh rate is locked to 60 on the Mi Pad 5 Spacedesk app, Android system and Windows 11 display settings.

    I have tried uninstalling drivers, playing with VSync options, making sure the SpacedeskService is on real-time and high, adding the service to the Nvidia control panel and putting it on the GPU, setting the GPU in Windows to specific Nvidia, and all drivers are up to date, windows 11 also.

    The only thing that I suspect is the colour bit depth in the advanced display setting in Windows is dead set on 8-bit even though everywhere else is 24-bit.

    Also tried different refresh rates on the Android system, different USB ports on my laptop and different high-quality USB cables.

    Another thing that bugs me is that in the adrenalin software for the integrated AMD GPU that I assume controls display output it says FreeSync is not supported, I have researched about activating it but I have a laptop and the only thing I found it for monitor settings using monitor specific menus.
    I’m not sure what else I can try out, but I would appreciate any recommendations.

    you could try opening the Windows Display Settings on your primary machine and click the detached/greyed out client then just attach it by selecting extend.

    If the second screen is on
    When these phones are all connected via USB at the same time
    iPhone5s won’t display

    If the second screen is not turned on
    Only the first device connected via USB will be displayed

    In addition, when using debug mode, the USB connection will be unable to connect.
    All wifi modes work normally

    It is recommended to always stay up to date when using the spacedesk Windows Driver as an updated driver often comes with major/minor bug fixes as well as new feature updates.

    As for the iOS viewer app..
    We have released a new spacedesk iOS viewer v1.78 in the Appstore, which contains the potential fix for the crash issue.
    Please update your viewer and try it. let us know if it fixes the issues for you.

    Hello, because 1.76 and 1.77 cannot be started.
    So I don’t dare to update my computer to 2.1.09 rashly at the moment.
    I will try to update to the latest version when the ios version can run normally.

    Hi @ivan1884,
    What is the app version installed on your iPad Mini 2? Is it 1.76?
    Does this only happen during USB connections? how about in Wi-Fi?
    Could you please try to check/uncheck the USB Cable iOS in spacedesk Console? and/or reboot both your Windows 10 and iPad Device then try again with spacedesk.

    it seems like you are using an old spacedesk Driver. We are now at v2.1.09
    Could you please try to update your spacedesk Windows Driver and try connecting multiple usb ios connections again?
    please make sure to uninstall the old driver first before installing the new one from our website.

    If the issue persists, please send us the Diagnostic logs of this Issue using spacedesk Driver v2.1.09.
    Just follow the steps below:
    – open spacedesk Driver Console -> Diagnostics
    – if Debug View is not available, please click the download button first
    – switch Diagnostic Collection ON (make sure to click Yes in the User Account Control box to proceed)
    – reproduce the Issues.
    – switch Diagnostic Collection OFF
    – click Save All Information button (if a message box appears, just click No to proceed)
    PS: Saving all information will take a few seconds, then please send us the whole folder which contains all the diagnostic logs collected.
    Please right-click the folder -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file in your next reply.

    For the self-exit issue, what is your display mode when the issue occurs? is it extend or duplicate?
