    Hi @el_viejo,
Thank you very much for sending the diagnostic logs and for checking with Windows 7 version of spacedesk Viewer.
You have just confirmed that the problem is most likely in the Windows 10 Viewer app.
We will further investigate it and get back to you as soon as we have news regarding this issue.

wow, i use 7-zip in order to split the files in 512k parts but it seems your webserver and 7-zip talk different in terms of digital units 🙂 so i reduced the parts file size down to 460k.

    Hi @brontoc,

It is possible, just that Windows Display Control Panel/Settings user interface does not support it.
This applies to spacedesk and all other displays.

We suggest the workaround steps below to mirror your main monitor to all spacedesk displays.
    1. connect your 2 spacedesk viewers, so the setup will be something like this:
    — Screen #1 – main monitor (1920×1080)
    — Screen #2 – spacedesk viewer 2 (1920×1080)
    — Screen #3 – spacedesk viewer 2 (1920×1080)

    2. Open spacedesk Driver Console and enable Videowall mode
    3. Assign all clients connected to Video Wall.
    — You will see on Connections -> Active (2 connected), 2 spacedesk clients connected, click one of them, then click the Videowall tab in the right panel
    — In Wall Index box, enter any value e.g. “1”, then it will create a Video Wall1 underneath CONTROL
    — Then right-click the other spacedesk client below, then select “Assign to Wall1” and also change its dimension too
    4. Change dimension of Video Wall1, by clicking it underneath CONTROL, set the Size (Width:Height) to 1920 : 1080
    5. Open Windows Display Settings, and you will see an extended display (this is the videowall 1), switch it to Duplicate the main display.
You can do it via Display switch (Windows logo + P hotkey) then select Duplicate.

    Hi,
I am using Windows 10 and so far I was able to duplicate my display to another monitor. My question is, is it possible to duplicate to two other displays so that all three monitors would show the same screen? In Windows settings I only see the option to duplicate screen 1 and 2 or 1 and 3.

    Hi @robmar58,

Which spacedesk Windows Viewer are you using? Is it the Microsoft Store version 0.0.26.0? Or the Win 7 desktop version 0.9.41?
Actually the window frames of the viewer app can be hidden if you switch the viewer app to fullscreen mode.

You can open multiple instance of spacedesk Windows Viewer app and can drag each one of it to different monitors of your secondary machine.
Unfortunately, spacedesk Viewer app only remembers the last position of the last instance. You have to manually rearrange the viewer windows when you restart your machine.

    Hi @el_viejo,

    Update:
We are currently investigating this issue.
Based on the logs, we saw several disconnect traces but only a graceful disconnect from the viewer.
In the meantime, can you please try the spacedesk Windows 7 Viewer version 0.9.41 from spacedesk website and check if you observe the same connection interruption.

    Hi @el_viejo,

    Password received.

Upon opening the encrypted folder, it only contains one valid DebugView.log file which we are currently checking.
We actually expect various diagnostic logs to further analyze the issue on your side.
spacedesk Driver Console app generates a diagnostic folder name like “2023-04-12-xxxxx-spacedeskRuntimeDiagnostics” (which contains all necessary diagnostic log files), then this is the folder that you should compress (zipped).

Can you please try again the steps above and send a new logs?

By the way, is auto-reconnect enabled on your viewer settings?

Like the title says. Spacedesk randomly disconnects sometimes which is annoying but manages to completely freezes my system requiring me to reboot it in some unfortunate cases… GPU driver is up-to-date (4070ti, 531.41) Any clues on how to fix this? I use a Lenovo tab 10 to monitor my equalizer and monitor my temps…

    Hello!
The tablet is Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 3G, running some Android 6.0.1 build of AOSP (custom ROM, the stock one is way too outdated to use)
The phone is vivo Y12, running Android 11 build of FuntouchOS (stock ROM)

I tried both WiFi and USB connections, but I get the same result and on both devices. Can’t exactly tell the speed of internet connection, but my tablet is very old and so I can only broadly say that it’s slow. Phone is more or less modern, should be pretty fast.

Hope this helps, will wait patiently for a reply!

    Hi @dave_25
You can easily test the auto-reconnect feature, just switch OFF the spacedesk via spacedesk Driver Console app and the app should try to auto-reconnect to the server (showing „Disconnected – Reconnecting to 192.168.xx.xx in the viewer screen), and when you switch back ON it should reconnect properly.

Have you tried updating the iPads to the latest app version? I’m having the same dropouts here and quite certain it’s due to running the latest server version with older client software apps that’s causing the problem.

(Unfortunately for me, I can’t update my iPads to confirm if this is right. The latest app is now being listed by Apple as incompatible for an iPad 9.7″ 4th Gen running iOS 10.3.4)

    hi @lea,

thanks for your quick reply and yes, you are assuming right 🙂 both machines are windows 11 machines. client side has the ms store version 0.0.26.0 installed, which has been installed by 31.03.2023. i followed the given instructions above and noticed it takes up to a minute to establish a connection between server and client machine when diagnostic mode is on. usually this happens in less than 3 seconds. and after connection the time until the first interruption was much longer than.

please find the logs attached to this post.

thanks for taking care of this issue.

    Hi,

Absolutely love SpaceDesk! We are using it to mirror a presentation on iPads to those who for whatever reason can’t see the main projector and it is brilliant for this. However, because we have an old router occasionally we get drop outs of the iPads but I am not able to access the iPads to reconnect them during the presentation. Is it possible to re-initiate connection from the base computer?

The iPads all connect to a video wall for which the disconnect delay is -1. So they hold the last screen that was on before the disconnection but is there a way to auto-reconnect to the computer or initiate a re-connect without accessing the iPads? Those using the iPads are not technically minded enough to press two buttons (I know it sounds ridiculous to be me too!)

    Once again brilliant software!

If you are experiencing a black screen on your Android device when using spacedesk, there are several things you can try to resolve the issue:

Check your network connection: Ensure that both your Android device and Windows 10 computer are connected to the same network. A poor or unstable network connection may cause display issues.

Check the spacedesk server settings: On your Windows 10 computer, open the spacedesk server settings and ensure that the correct display settings are selected for your Android device. You may need to adjust the resolution or orientation settings to ensure compatibility with your device.

Restart the spacedesk app: Try restarting both the spacedesk app on your Android device and the spacedesk server on your Windows 10 computer. This can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.

Disable any conflicting apps: If you have any other remote display or screen mirroring apps installed on your Android device, try disabling them as they may interfere with the spacedesk connection.

Try a different connection method: If you are using Wi-Fi to connect your Android device to your Windows 10 computer, try using a USB cable instead. This can sometimes provide a more stable connection.

If none of these solutions work, you may need to seek additional technical support from the spacedesk community or contact the spacedesk support team for further assistance.

Yes, this dump points to a device driver software named chdrvr01.sys
When googling for chdrvr01.sys it seems to be delivered by a company named „CH Products“ which seems to manufacture flight yokes, rudder pedals, throttles and joysticks.
Only this company can solve this problem with their software.
Please contact their support or uninstall their product (or at least remove their device driver software).

    Hello!
I’ve been trying to play some touchscreen rhythm games using Spacedesk, but I noticed that the multi-touch have an issue, when if you hold one finger on screen, every next touch would require you to swipe in order to register. Because of this bug it’s not very pleasant experience to play through Spacedesk. It’s possible, but unnecessary hard.
Is there a workaround, some misconfiguration on my side, Windows 10’s own multi-touch support jank or just some bug?

    agreed, 100%
I just found the app, works perfectly except. Second screen controlling the PC is a deal breaker.

1st, in general, the added threat surface (potential for misuse) means there are far fewer places I would deploy spacedesk.

My particular use case: Screen mirroring.
Our computer operator is running an alpine ski race: that is, they are entering racers into the software connected to start and finish which provides us with results.
A live announcer views a mirrored screen so they can announce results over a public address system.

Currently we use full size second monitor.
Because we setup/teardown frequently, we are hoping to use a tablet as second display.
The tablet can go in the backpack with the laptop, saving us having to lug a desktop monitor around.

I can think of a dozen other use cases where it would be preferred to have view only.

    @jonathana
suggestion to be able to disable from either client or server is perfect. Hope this can be implemented. We don’t race again until 2024, so perhaps we can use SpaceDesk.

    Hi @cavogaro,

For clarification, so you want to mirror your main monitor screen to your other Android TV screen, right?

If this is the case, it is possible, just that Windows Display Control Panel/Settings user interface does not support it.
This applies to spacedesk and all other displays.

We suggest the workaround steps below to mirror your main monitor to all your Android TV screens.
    1. connect your 2 other Android TV, so the setup will be something like this:
    — Android TV #1 – main screen (1920×1080)
    — Android TV #2 – extension (1280×780)
    — Android TV #3 – extension (1280×780)

    2. Open spacedesk Driver Console and enable Videowall mode
    3. Assign all clients connected to Video Wall.
    — You will see on Connections -> Active (2 connected), 2 Android TV clients connected, click one of them, then click the Videowall tab in the right panel
    — In Wall Index box, enter any value e.g. “1”, then it will create a Video Wall1 underneath CONTROL
    — Change the dimension (Width:Height) of the client from 1280×780 to 1920×1080
    — Then right-click the other Android TV client below, then select “Assign to Wall1” and also change its dimension too

    Hi @bugmenot,

spacedesk Pro license will be available very soon. No specific date of release yet.

As for your other question, creating a virtual display without spacedesk client connection is not available in the current spacedesk BETA version.
But there’s a workaround to create a virtual display (without connecting from secondary client).

Option #1: Use HTML5 Viewer page to connect locally. Just open a web browser e.g. Microsoft Edge on your primary machine, then go to http://viewer.spacedesk.net/ and connect to the localhost’s IP address or 127.0.0.1. Keep in mind that spacedesk only allows 1 HTML5 Viewer connection at a time.

Option #2: Connect a secondary client at first to attach a virtual display and persist it. To do this:
    – open spacedesk Driver Console and switch ON Videowall mode
    – set Videowall disconnect delay to -1 (equivalent to infinite)
    – connect a spacedesk client first and disconnect it immediately, you will notice that the secondary display will persist (check it in Windows Display Settings). It will only detach once you reboot your machine or switch OFF spacedesk Driver or Videowall mode in spacedesk Driver Console app.

When will we be allowed to buy a personal copy of this (hopefully permanent license)? I would’ve bought it already had there been an option to do so.

    Also, a question:
Would it be possible to integrate a function to enable a virtual desktop on the same computer without having to open two programs? I know this program is geared for remote virtual desktops, but it’s useful for me to just create a secondary virtual display on my computer without any external client. Why you may ask? Cause I use this with VR and virtual desktop application, so I don’t need to see the virtual desktop anywhere else except on my VR

In a case such as this, it would probably be more efficient to not have to route the virtual desktop through 127.0.0.1, since it’s all on the same computer anyways (also, no viewer is needed in such a case, so I can save computer resources)

    Hello,

Can someone please offer clarification about monitors over LAN and PC specs necessary for many simultaneous touchscreens?

I would like to have many independent touch screens monitors (between 6-10) controlling a single PC running audio software. What specs in a PC are required to make this work smoothly? Do monitors over LAN consume as much GPU as when directly plugged into a video output? Can I use an external GPU with SpaceDesk? Does this SpaceDesk consume much CPU?

I don’t, but I figured out what is going on. The issue is with f.lux, an app that automates a night-light like feature. They also had issues with other virtual/secondary display apps like displaylink. It looks like that in that case it is an issue with display link, check this example: https://www.displaylink.org/forum/showthread.php?t=68201

Do you think that is an issue with spacedesk or with f.lux? Can I help in any way?

    Hi @freakymood,

Did you follow the instruction on the chapter – Direct USB Cable Connection (Android only) in the user manual https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/#item_11689 ?

Do you have USB debugging enabled on your android phone?
If yes, can you please try to disable it and try again with spacedesk Android USB cable connection.

If the suggestions above did not help, please send us the diagnostic logs, just follow the steps below:
    – open spacedesk Driver Console -> Diagnostics page
    – if Debug View is not available, please click the download button first
    – switch Diagnostic Collection ON (make sure to click Yes in the User Account Control box to proceed)
    – try to connect your viewer app and reproduce the issue
    – switch Diagnostic Collection OFF
    – click Save All Information button (if dialog box appears, just click No to proceed)
PS: Saving all information will take a few seconds, then please send us the whole folder which contains all the diagnostic logs collected.
Please right-click the folder -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file in your next reply.

FYI: spacedesk connection via direct Android USB cable connect still uses JPEG encoding not H264.

I am using my processor as graphics card, and I see that, if I connect my phone to spacedesk with new android usb support then it can use h264. But I can’t connect my android phone to windows. I restarted my phone, and windows, and unplug usb and plug again, but nothing works. I can use usb tethering but If I use usb tethering it uses jpeg encoder and my processor is working at 100%. I can’t even use my laptop. How to fix this?

The Device Manager in Win10 ->Display Adapter ->Spacedesk Graphics Adapter prompts that Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device, resulting in abnormal operation of this device. (Code 31)

Thank you for your time & patience. I did use static IP but to no avail.

I think that the gigabit bandwidth is simply not enough as I was able to use 5 gigabit ethernet for uncompressed 1080p/60 fps. I did the same on an android smartphone which has a 10 gigabit usb c connected to a computer with usb 3.1 gen2.

I was wondering if it’s possible to use type c or usb 3.1 to link 2 computers in spacedesk?

    Hi @rexmauris,

Routers can cause lags and latency. Bypassing them always improves performance.
This does not only apply to USB Tethering, but also to direct ethernet cable connection and WiFi Direct connection.

If your secondary device is Android, you can try connecting via direct Android USB cable.
Please refer to the chapter Direct USB Cable Connection (Android only) in the user manual https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/#item_11689.

Otherwise, please check the chapter Performance tuning in the user manual.
It provides several ways to improve performance. https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/#item_505.

    Hi @david-p,

Yes you can simulate an 8k virtual monitor with spacedesk.
Just enable the videowall mode, then create a video wall by assigning a client to a wall.
The default dimension of a spacedesk video wall is 4K (3840×2160) but you can modify it and set an 8K resolution.

For further assistance, please refer to the chapter Videowall Configuration in the user manual https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/#item_619.
