Hi @kianchong,
Could you please try the following on your primary machine.
– right-click C:\Windows\Temp folder -> Properties -> Security tab -> Advanced -> Permission tab -> Continue
– check if you find the Users or Authenticated Users and make sure it has Full Control access
If none, just Add -> Select a principal, then type “Users” and click Check Names and click OK
– Then make sure to check the Full Control access for the Users then click Apply -> OK.
After following the steps above please try to run-install again the spacedesk MSI installer.
Hi @mep011,
Are you using the spacedesk Android Viewer app on your tablet?
If yes, could you please try to update to latest version on Google Playstore.
We just released a new version (0.9.80) with bug fix for a reported application crash.
Looking forward to your feedback.
i have an amd notebook with a radeon processor , so naturally i use adrenaline driver video , but all once i install the space desk amd video driver stop to work, and also the screen is all messed up,so i wanted know how i can fix this it looks like it’s a drivers conflict
Latest version seem to be a bit more stable and is not continually producing the repeating character “\”. I did notice when the Spacedesk app crashed after upgrading it repeated this character on one occasion but after rebooting it has not done it since. Certainly not easily reproduced if there is any lingering bug, so for the most part it seems more stable and resolved at this point.
My spacedesk was working until lunchtime, when I came back from lunch it didn’t work anymore.
when I try to open the spacedesk on my tablet the message “Spacedesk has stopped” appears.
I’ve tried everything, I even formatted my tablet and it doesn’t work.
I Need help!
Please
when i press the ip address of the server, the app crashes. it didnt use to be like this. the app worked for a while. i have tried everything even a factory reset and the app still crashes.im using a huawei mediatab 10 link and it has android 4. it works on my other phones
Hi @mjb,
Unfortunately it’s not possible.
spacedesk Driver software includes deep level driver installation.
Hi @multi-cat,
Please try the most recent spacedesk Driver v1.0.17 and Android Viewer app from Playstore.
This issue should be fixed now.
It is also now supports entering a full word, not just single key input.
Hi @pfield69,
Multi-touch gesture like pinch to zoom is now supported with the latest spacedesk Driver v1017 and Android Viewer v0.9.79.
Same problem.
Server Windows 10 21H1, spacedesk driver v 1.0.17
Client android 4.4.2, spacedesk android app v 0.9.79
The android application gives a fatal error when trying to connect to the server. Other devices with more modern android have no problems.
I have tested with the HTML5 viewer and it works fine, although the performance is worse. The problem occurs only with the app.
Regards
Hi @mortimar,
We have tried to reproduce it on our side, but so far auto-hide of taskbar is working on our side with spacedesk connected.
For further analysis, could you please run dxdiag.exe on your primary machine, click “Save All Information”, then attach the output file (dxdiag.txt) on your next reply.
Same problem too
Yesterday everything worked perfectly on an old Huawei tablet with android 4.4.4 today I start the app crashes when I try to connect to the PC
I uninstalled the app with no success, even after resetting the tablet to factory configuration
Same problem with the latest PC driver
I don’t know what to think anymore that I am currently viewing the aida 64 sensor panel via the web via spacedesk HTML5 VIEWER but the app keeps crashing
Hi,
Would you consider to place also the “SPACEDESK DRIVER SOFTWARE for Windows PRIMARY PC (server)” at the Microsoft Store like the Spacedesk Win Viewer?
It would ease immensely the update routines to those of us who depend on corporate IT Admins to install them on our pc’s. As they can mark it as app store updateable by the user.
Thanks in advance,
MJB
Hi @joahof,
Could you please try our spacedesk Windows Viewer app Microsoft Store version?
Hi @ahmetzkan,
Thanks for the feedback.
To further analyze this issue, please download the spacedesk diagnostic script here, then extract it.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/z8h5llgi8c2ig3g/2021_spacedeskDiagnosticTool.zip?dl=0
Inside you will find spacedeskDiagnosticTool.cmd, just right-click it then run as administrator.
This script will start a debug view app to capture spacedesk debug traces.
On step 5 it will prompt you to reproduce the issue (by connecting the viewer app and wait for the issue to happen), make sure to do this before pressing any key to continue.
After the script is done, a folder will be created on the same folder as the script file which contains various log files that we need for analysis.
Please right-click it -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file on your next reply.

Hi @game,
Could you please try with Private network profile.
I think with Public network, network discovery is switched off.
By the way, please try our most recent spacedesk Driver v1.0.16 that we just released on our website https://forum.spacedesk.net.
Hi @Lea
My current network connection type is wireless for both Ipad and computer.
Space desk it is open.
Both devices are on the same frequency band.(5G)
My current network profile on primary machine is public.
Hi @mnajera,
Could you please send us the following info:
Primary Machine
– operating system (Windows 8.1/10)?
– graphics adapter (AMD/Intel/Nvidia)
– network connection type (wired/wireless/USB tethering/WiFi Direct)
Secondary Machine
– Viewer type (Android/iOS/Windows/HTML5)
– network connection type (wired/wireless/USB tethering/WiFi Direct)
What is your current network profile on your primary machine? Public or Private?
Aside from Windows built in firewall, do you have third party firewall software (e.g. McAfee)?
When you set the rule above, is the program path set to C:\Windows\system32\spacedeskService.exe?
Do you maybe have VPN (Virtual Private Network) currently active?
Hi @ahmetzkan,
So you can’t connect spacedesk anymore after the first time?
But can you still discover your primary machine on your viewer app?
You can connect but you only get Display Off, correct?
Is your primary machine connected to wireless or wired network?
If it’s wireless, is it reliable/stable?
i Can not see the server…
wich should be the outcome if I use the command NETSH?
I GOT THE FOLLOWING OUTCOME:
netsh advfirewall firewall show rule name=”spacedeskservice”
Rule Name: spacedeskService
———————————————————————-
Enabled: Yes
Direction: In
Profiles: Domain,Private,Public
Grouping:
LocalIP: Any
RemoteIP: Any
Protocol: Any
Edge traversal: No
Action: Allow
Ok.
SpacedeskService is running. There is no problem.
I add dxdiag.txt.
Hi @ahmetzkan,
Could you please check on your primary machine if spacedeskService is running?
Just run services.msc, find spacedeskService and check the status, maybe try to restart it.
For further analysis, could you please run dxdiag.exe on your primary machine, click “Save All Information”, then attach the output file (dxdiag.txt) on your next reply.
No,only windows defender but windows defender is turned off.
Last night ı connect spacedesk half hour but now ı couldn’t connect today.
Hi @ahmetzkan,
Do you have third party firewall software on your primary machine (e.g. McAfee)?
Did you already tried to reboot your machine and try to reconnect the spacedesk?
Hi @game,
What is current network connection type (wired/wireless/USB tethering/WiFi Direct) on your Windows 10 and iPad?
Could you please check on your primary machine if spacedeskService is running?
Just run services.msc, find spacedeskService and check the status.
What is the current network profile on your primary machine? Is it Private or Public?
If you are using wireless network, are both primary machine and iPad device connected on the same wifi network with the same network band (2.4Ghz or 5Ghz)?
Hello! Im a new user and it says on my secondary device that there is a connection failure. Are there ways to resolve this?
I have installed the latest version of Spacedesk on my primary device and has inlcuded in my firewall the spacedisk.
I ran the Windows Troubleshooter which DID detect and fix some problems.
I have successfully installed the SpaceDesk Windows Driver – problem now resolved.
I really appreciate the assistance that you have provided to me to resolve the installation error – THANK YOU.
This topic can now be closed.
Best regards,
Helen
I am using the General Mobile E Tab-4 tablet.
5 minutes after connecting to the tablet with Spacedesk, the connection drops.I can’t reconnect.
I need spacedesk.Help me 🙁
I enlarged the screens
Hi @lea, I am using an Android tablet as the viewer device to provide a third screen. The version of the viewer is v0.9.77.
The input seems to be generated by the Spacedesk driver. It is not coming from the hardware keyboard that is attached to my Windows 10 PC. As soon as I stop the Spacedesk driver on the Windows 10 machine the generation of the “\” character ceases immediately and I can happily type on my keyboard as normal. The hardware keyboard is USB wired connection, not a wireless keyboard or software keyboard.
Hi @game
Ok, thanks for the feedback.
Next thing to try is thru HTML5 viewer from your iPad.
Just open a web browser (e.g. Safari or Google Chrome) then go http://viewer.spacedesk.net/, then try to connect to the IP address of your primary machine.
Hi @dmitriy,
There are various differences between our Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 spacedesk Driver.
On Windows 8.1, there’s no more remote hardware keyboard support (only software keyboard in android). Aside from that the other available remote input supported is Mouse only.
On Windows 10, spacedesk supports remote Mouse/Touch/Keyboard/Pen input.
Hi @aroosvangmail-com,
To switch to desktop extension mode, please scroll down below on Multiple displays dropdown menu, please select “Extend these displays”.
For assistance, please also check Configuration and Settings -> Windows PC (Primary Machine) chapter in spacedesk user manual https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/.
Hello,
Following your advice I updated both Spacedesk driver to v1.0.15 and Intel(R) HD Graphics 5500 but the problem was not solved.
Everytime i launch Spacedesk app on android client the blank screen “Connected – Display OFF” appears.
I noticed that the Spacedesk driver on primary machine detects the incoming connection, then it disconnects. I’m uploading the screenshots if this can be useful to you.
I also relaunched the diagnostic tool and the result is attached below.
Thank you so much for any suggestions.
Titoaurelio
Hi @myriad
spacedesk Pen input support is only available for Windows 10 primary machine.
Hi @roblatour,
It seems like a limitation in iOS device and not a spacedesk issue.
I found this similar issue from Apple forum site https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2090334.
Hi @watchbird,
Please try try the Install/Uninstall troubleshooter program https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17588/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed
If spacedesk is not on the program list, just select “Not Listed” then paste the product code of current spacedesk version below.
spacedesk_driver_Win_10_64_v1015_BETA.msi:{60C2963B-A3C6-4995-BB85-3274F7190577}
spacedesk_driver_Win_10_64_v1014_BETA.msi:{8C330294-7E17-42D6-B17F-1D875427F066}
After that, please reboot then try again the installer.
Hi @joahof,
Could you please try with the most recent spacedesk Driver v1.0.15 and Windows 7 Viewer 0.9.32?
Hi @game
We are not very familiar with Avast.
Can you please check if it has its own firewall settings?
And can you quickly try to disable the Avast and check if spacedesk can viewer can discover now your primary machine?
It is connected via USB tethering.
I specifically don’t want the iPad connected to the WiFi via Spacedesk as I want to use the iPad as a permanently connected solution and already have a significant number of other devices taxing my Wifi network connection – and thus want to use a USB connection.
Hi @titoaurelio,
Thanks for sending the diagnostic logs.
Could you please try with our most recent spacedesk Driver v1.0.15 available on our website?
Forum
If the same problem still persist, please try to update your Intel(R) HD Graphics 5500 driver via https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html.
Hi @roblatour,
I have a powered external usb hub and tried it. While the Spacedesk part continues to work perfectly, there is still no love in terms of the iPad charging.
Is spacedesk connected over USB tethering or WiFi network?
Hi @philippe-marlieroutlook-com,
Thanks for sending the requested logs.
So currently, spacedesk v1.0.14 is still present on your primary machine, correct?
Could you please try the most recent spacedesk Driver v1.0.15 available on our website then let us know if you get the same installation issue.
