    Dear all,

    I am using Spacedesk to work with an Android tablet as a secondary screen, using RNDIS (USB tethering).
    Everything works great, except that… when I disconnect the tablet from the computer, and reconnect it later, the Spacedesk client doesn’t list the server address anymore. Thus I cannot establish the connection. Even if I restart the Spacedesk client, or if I restart the Spacedesk service (on the server side), the server is not listed anymore. I am forced to restart the whole Windows 10 computer (server side), and when it is restarted, the server appears again in the spacedesk client ‘connect’ menu.
    On some PC, this issue is here, on other PCs, the detection is done on the fly. I cannot understand why.
    I was then wondering if I could manually force this detection by executing a Windows command or by understanding which Windows configuration point is missing on some PCs where the issue occurs. My guess is that the client detects the server IP address using the Windows network discovery functionnalities (Indeed, if these functionnalities are disabled, the client never lists the server IP).
    So my question is : which event is precisely required to list the server name & IP address?
    If you could help, I may then be able, after tablet gets disconnected, to automatically execute a command , or maybe restart a Windows service to force the detection again.

    Precision : I am working with the Spacedesk server 0.9.91 version, and I do not want to upgrade it, due to input issues in the latest versions.

    Which older version is working on your side? Is it the v1.0.6?

    Sorry I forgot to answer your question: yes, I believe all the crashes were related to the use of the pen input method on the iPad with Apple Pencil 2.

    I also submit the spacedeskSetup file found in the \User\Shared directory, looks like there were some problems there but I don’t know how it should look like. I halted the install process first time because I decided to set a system restore point in the last second, then ran it again so maybe that’s why it looks a bit odd in the beginning?

    Thanks for sending your diagnostic logs.
    Based on the traces, spacedesk has detected an incompatible display hook driver on your primary machine.
    Do you have splashtop/Duet Display/ Fresco Logic software currently installed on your machine?
    If yes, please uninstall it then reboot your primary machine.
    After that please try again with spacedesk.

    It seems that your primary machine is crashing.
    Is it only happening when you send an input using Apple Pencil 2 via spacedesk iOS viewer app?

    For further analysis, could you please send us the following:
    – run dxdiag.exe on your primary machine, click “Save All Information”, save the output file (dxdiag.txt)
    – most recent dump file (*.dmp) of your BSOD with spacedesk which is located in C:\Windows\minidump folder

    Please save the files in one folder then right-click it -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file on your next reply.

    THanks for the feedback.
    Upon further checking of the logs, based on your dxdiag your graphics card name is Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 but below the driver name shows “aticfx64.dll,aticfx64.dll,aticfx64.dll,amdxc64.dll” which is for AMD graphics driver.
    Please double check on your side what exactly is your graphics adapter, is it really Intel or AMD?
    This probably confuses spacedesk driver during grabbing and rendering the screen update.

    Another possible reason is that your graphics adapter is already an old one which only supports WDDM 1.2. spacedesk IddCx Driver only supports WDDM 2.0 – above.

    Hi, many thanks for letting me try out this great piece of software! However, I experienced the same problem as OP after some hours playing with it and exploring the possibilities it opens up.

    Let me take it from the beginning. Installed it today and it worked fine as a third monitor in my setup (see below). It was even possible to use the iPad Pro’s Smart keyboard as alternate keyboard – save a few keys like ”backspace” that didn’t work -, and the Pc’s mouse inputs were recorded great with only minimal lag.

    Display settings like position and resolution could be adjusted very easily through Windows 10 display settings, to native resolution for iPad Pro 11” (i.e *very* high) and enlarging the fonts etc to 150% or so gave a great experience – perfectly clear. So far so good.

    Then I realized that I could use my iPad as a remote terminal to my Windows laptop in my office, bringing the iPad along to another room sitting in the sofa. Worked just great, as long as you don’t lose track of the mouse pointer to the other monitors in the other room but that’s managable.

    The idea came up to try also the Apple pencil 2, so I fired up OneNote and gave it a try. Was actually surprised that it worked quite good, ok there is a lag that makes lines less smooth and so on but it worked well enough to be very useful in, say, the remote teaching applications via Zoom etc that OP was talking about. Problem is that I got freezing and server disconnect after a couple of minutes, and when checking out the laptop in the other room it turned out that it had restarted.

    Tried it twice same thing. Checked the system log and there was quite a few informational, warnings and critical messages related to this that I perhaps can relay to you but they are in Swedish.

    The system config looks like this:
    – Laptop is Asus TUF A15, Windows 10 v 21H1, with Nvidia’s display driver 472.12 (or 30.9.14.7212 as reported in device manager) for the graphics card. There is also integrated graphics in the Ryzen 5 4600H Cpu but there was no mention of that in system requirements, anyway it is driver version 27.20.11032.9001

    – iPad Pro (11”, 2018) iPadOS ver 14.8, Apple pencil gen 2.

    So in short, I find your software highly promising but felt uncomfortable continue running the server on the host machine so I disabled it for now, maybe decide to uninstall it and wait for updates.

    Inside you will find spacedeskDiagnosticTool.cmd, just right-click it then run as administrator on your primary machine.
    This script will start a debug view app to capture spacedesk debug traces.
    On step 5 it will prompt you to reproduce the issue (by connecting the viewer app and wait for the issue to happen), make sure to do this before pressing any key to continue.
    After the script is done, a folder will be created on the same folder as the script file which contains various log files that we need for analysis.
    Please right-click it -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file on your next reply.

    my android cant detect my primary which is win10, i also tried the html5 viewer and it didnt work, both used to work.
    the only thing i can think of is me using (https://www.oo-software.com/en/shutup10) to change my windows settings to their recommended settings as well as installing (https://www.henrypp.org/product/simplewall), i tried disabling simplewall and uninstalling it but it didnt fix the problem, my guess is that shutup10 disabled something that spacedesk uses but i also tried resetting my setting and its still broken.

    can you help me by telling me if any of these actually removed something that spacedesk uses or are these irrelevant and something else is causing spacedesk to break

    Are both primary and secondary machine connected on the same local area network?
    Do you maybe have VPN (Virtual Private Network) enabled?
    Do you have third party firewall software on your primary machine?

    The spacedesk server is set to automatically started upon installation and should be ON always.
    It will only be OFF if it was set manually or spacedeskService crashes.

    Is it always server OFF on your machine?

    Did you upgrade to Windows 11 while you have spacedesk driver already installed on your primary machine?

    Based on the setup log, you are trying to install/uninstall an older spacedesk Driver v1.0.6? Is that right?
    Could you please try to uninistall via Troubleshooting tool from Microsoft?
    Just download the troubleshooter tool here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed-cca7d1b6-65a9-3d98-426b-e9f927e1eb4d

    If spacedesk is not on the program list, just select “Not Listed” then paste the product code of current spacedesk version on your machine:

    Are you using the updated spacedesk Android Viewer app from Google Playstore?
    Latest version is v0.9.84.

    What is the current Quality/Performance settings (e.g. Encoding color depth/Rendering color depth) of viewer app?
    Are you connecting over the wifi network (that goes through the router)? Is your network stable/reliable?

    Can you please try to enabled the auto-connect option in the viewer app settings and check if it will help?

    When using Spacedesk Viewer with 2 different USB Hubs/Docking Stations
    1) J5Create Model: JCD543
    2) Kensington SD4000

    The ethernet network port on both units will just suddenly stop working after about 10 minutes using Spacedesk Viewer. The port lights still indicate a connection but the connection is dropped and of course Spacedesk Viewer will tell me after a timeout that the connection has been lost.

    When using the Laptop’s (Lenovo T14 Gen 2i) built in ethernet port OR the wifi connection of the laptop, I have no issues whatsoever. I don’t know if there is a conflict with the drivers (either Spacedesk or the hub drivers) or if there is just too much traffic going through the USB, but I cannot use Spacedesk with either docking station as I’ve tried both (at first thinking the ethernet port had gone bad in the hub).

    My preferred setup was to use the docking station to connect one display + the ethernet connection and then use Spacedesk as a 2nd Display for the laptop.

    Any ideas?

    Hi @promaks444,
    Routers can cause lags and latency. Bypassing them always improves performance. Configure Windows PC or iPad device as WiFi Access Point (Hotspot) and connect to it before connecting spacedesk.
    USB Tethering achieves the same result, in case your iPad supports it.

    Hi @mdel,
    Is the bluescreen randomly happening? Or is it only happening with spacedesk connected?
    Can you try uninstalling the spacedesk Driver/Server and observe your machine for a while if the bluescreen will/will not happen anymore.

    Based on the debugview log, spacedesk detected an incompatible display hook driver on your primary machine (e.g. splashtop/duet display/fresco).
    If you have any of these software installed on your primary machine, please uninstall it then reboot before connecting a spacedesk viewer.

    Hello. I’ve recently moved from duet display to spacedesk. I really love this app, but I’m having frequent bluescreen (Actually it is black screen because it is Windows 11)by Netio.sys error, such as “system thread exception not handled” or “irql not less or equal”. I searched them and read that they are driver issue, but the only driver I installed recently was spacedesk server app. Does anyone also have this issue?

    Can anyone please help me urgently!! I have installed spacedesk driver but its not working
    it shows disconnected by server error , error code 2-5 error infor 0-5.

    i have uninsatlled the splashtop driver and the app itself. i also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the spacedesk driver, but the problem still persist

    my primary device is Lenovo Ideapad 330
    and my second monitor is Huawei Matepad t8 and ive also tried it in Huawei Nova 5t

    ill attach the dx diag file here. Please please help me

    You can download and install the current spacedesk Driver v1.0.18 (for Windows 10). It should work with Windows 11 machine too.

    the game usage comes up

    this is expected since games usually consumes a lot of your resources (memory,cpu usage) – which is not a problem of spacedesk.

    in multiplayer, its a little bit worst, it gets to 60, 50

    This is also not a spacedesk problem, the multiplayer app consumes high amount of your resources too..

    I think the problem here is that you have an old processor with 4 cores only and it limits the performance of your machine.

    After a vulnerability scan from a third-party company, they discovered (likely via Nessus) that the spacedeskService has weak permissions or is vulnerable to privilege escalation attacks.

    spacedeskService – Everyone: Change Service Configuration (DC), Write DAC (WD), Write Owner (WO).

    Can this be fixed?

    Im using asus zenpad running Android 7.0

    my main machine is windows 11 running with the latest drivers even space desk

    it disconnects around 40 seconds and i get everytime this: Error Code: 2-5-6 Error Info: 0-5-8

    There were similar posts in this forum previously, but a period from now.
    I used Spacedesk since I was a student, it was a wonderful experience.
    And now I work in a business about 300 people, but only ME will use Spacedesk.
    Can I use this software in my business? or do I need to buy a licence for legal usage?

    I want to add that I have tried using a different LAN-cable without success. I don’t get an error message on the host, but the Spacedesk VIEWER app shows “Disconnected by server”

    I found an intermediate solution.
    You need to create * .bat script and inside:
    msiexec / i C: \ spacedesk_driver_Win_10_64_v1018_BETA.msi / qn / norestart

    (The installer can be on a flash drive)

    With some programs, we change BAT to EXE (in Invisible mode – do not show the window) and name it e.g. spacedesk.exe
    (Unfortunately, many antivirus programs treat the file created in this way as a threat and try to block it. You need to find one that at least bypasses Windows Defender. You can check this on the VirusTotal website)

    Click on the spacedesk.exe file with the right mouse button and select “Run as administrator” from the menu.

    You can also select Compatibility in File Properties and Run this program as Administrator, but when run this way, a little info window pops up.

    Remote sound/audio support is not yet available on current spacedesk Beta version.
    We already have a working prototype but will not be available anytime soon.
    If at all, this feature will only be available in the pay version.

    Hey! I’m a new user on the app and I am using my old lap-top as my third monitor to my work desktop. I use the business pc as the 1st monitor and I have the work monitor (2nd screen) and my personal PC – my main pc -, which I connect the mouse, keyboard and headset and I use as 3rd monitor. I can control the 1st pc with the keyboard and mouse connected to the 3rd pc, but the headset doesn’t work.

    How do I connect the audio and mic input on the 1st monitor by the spacedesk?

    Not possible at the moment. spacedesk UWP viewer should only be available via Microsoft Store.
    This app bundle we sent, we just compiled it separately for you to try since it’s still free version.
    Later on when we have pay version in our Viewer app stores (including Microsoft Store) we cannot send a standalone UWP viewer package anymore.

    Android 10 phone:
    -ThumbKeyboard still didn’t work but
    -GBoard work OK

    tablet android 7:
    -Thumbkeyboard work OK

    Hi all,
    I need the client on a Windows IOT 1809 LTSC version. I’ve asked here and “LEA” (moderator here) give me the spacedeskViewer-UWP_v0.0.23.0 version.
    This version give me an error and my IOT distributor have same trying to install (see JPEG attached).
    Anyone could help me please ?

    I run spacedeskDiagnosticTool.cmd but something goes wrong and I cancel process.
    I run again and I see the error:

    STEP 3: Enabling IddCx WPP tracing

    Error:
    The data collector set already exists.

    I delete DebugView.log but this did not help.
    What do I have to delete before restarting?

    We always test it with cable connection and have one 1 Gb switch (not router) between spacedesk server.

    We are not using MS store version of client as it seems have older version than that installable package from your site. Now we go away from that windows client as we need 8 display connected and there is no possibility to have more clients on one computer and have used all nvidia hdmi output in use.
    Now we are focusing mainly to setup it on some android tv boxes. Our today test will be on
