I have an iPad connected to my Windows 11 PC through Spacedesk. I was wondering if it would be possible to play the same audio (say a YouTube video) through both my PC & iPad speakers simultaneously using Spacedesk?
I need help. I can’t seem to get my iOS device or my laptop to connect to spacedesk consistently. I keep getting the black screen with “Connected – Display off” message. I did manage to get it to connect two or three times, but I can’t seem to repeat this. It’s a hit-and-miss, most of the time a miss. And when I did get it to connect, the touchscreen function wouldn’t work in MSFS 2020 (I’ve only used Spacedesk in MSFS).
I’ve watched YouTube videos and read several articles, and I’ve done all they suggested including:
– Disabling Virtual Desktop & Virtual Desktop Streamer
– Turning off IPV6
– Adding an exception for spacedeskconsole.exe and spacedeskservice.exe in my Bitdefender firewall
– Disabled my VPN
– Uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version of Windows 10 driver
Does anyone have any other suggestion that would make this problem go away once and for all? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi @sidar,
Current spacedesk BETA version only supports 30 or 60 FPS/refresh rate via spacedesk Viewer Settings -> Quality/Performance -> Custom FPS Rate.
Hi @seo,
Current spacedesk Driver BETA v1064 (for Windows 10/11) supports up to 16 viewer connections (with native Android/iOS/Windows viewer app).
Hi @jharris1993,
Have you already tried to only check the “Use native android device resolution” in the spacedesk Viewer Settings -> Resolution?
Hi @almightychito,
Thank you very much for sending the diagnostic logs.
It seems that you have a Virtual Desktop (from https://www.vrdesktop.net/) installed in your primary machine.
This software seems to have incompatibility issue with spacedesk.
We were able to reproduce the same Display Off issue after installing the Virtual Desktop then reboot.
Please try this workaround steps to make it work with spacedesk:
– open device manager in your primary machine
– go to Display adapters and right-click Enable device the “Virtual Desktop Monitor”
– open spacedesk Driver Console then switch the spacedesk SERVER OFF-ON
If the steps above did not help, then the only option is to uninstall the Virtual Desktop app then reboot your primary machine.
Hi @Serg,
For connection/discoverability issues, you can refer to Troubleshooting -> Network Connection chapter in the user manual https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/
hello.
I am SEO. Spacedesk Software is the best. I am always grateful and I use it well. How many devices can connection?
can connection 300 devices? more?
I use spacedesk for my streaming setup. When I play games there is a problem with stutters even though the fps is stable. This is apparently a known issue with different displays with no matching refreshrates.
Would it be possible to set the refreshrate higher? Ultimately the android device only gets images sent does it not?
I have two 120hz, so would it be possible to set the hz to 120 on the driver as well?
Also for my needs I only need about 15 fps max on my tablet. Could we please also set a lower capture rate to sent over?
I ran the old msi V1062 to uninstall the driver. Installing V1064 msi failed. Then went through the workaround steps to totally clear V1062. Installed V1064 using the new msi. With all monitors (both hdmi AND spacedesk) up and running, I worked with system for about 1 hour. At that point I performed a regular uninstall – reinstall process for V1064 as per your instructions. IT WORKED! Did not have to even reboot the computer. So it seems the issue is fixed.
Congrats and thank you for your tenacity and attention to detail.
Hi @tartiak22,
We just released a new spacedesk Driver v1064 on the website.
It includes a potential fix for the spacedesk switching OFF after videowall connectivity.
Please check if it solves the issue on your side.
Looking forward to your feedback.
Hi @bkchng,
Thanks for the feedback.
Are you using the spacedesk Windows 10 Viewer from the Microsoft Store?
Or the spacedesk Windwos 7 Viewer (Desktop Version 0.9.39) from the website?
Hi @lobodelcaribe,
We just released a new spacedesk Driver v1064 on the web.
It includes a potential bug fix for the uninstallation issue.
Just do the complete uninstallation of the previous version (using the old msi) first then install this new version.
From there, please check the uninstallation-installation process using v1064 msi if it will work properly now on your side (without the work around steps above).
Looking forward to your feedback.
Hi @golgoth,
Thanks for sending the requested files.
Based on your Dxdiag info your primary PC is 64bit ARM processor.
Unfortunately, spacedesk does not support ARM processors.
Hi Lea,
thank you for your support 🙂
C:\Windows\System32\spacedeskService.exe
C:\Windows\System32\spacedeskServiceTray.exe
C:\Windows\System32\spacedeskConsole.exe
I have no such files
No spacedeskService in Services.msc
In attachement the requested logs.
It appears that the install is totally incomplete but the setup installs seamlessly without problems or warning.
Since yesterday, I reinstalled totally windows 11 and tried again with same result.
I hope we will find a fix, spacedesk is so nice !
Hi @golgoth,
Could you please check if you can find the following files:
C:\Windows\System32\spacedeskService.exe
C:\Windows\System32\spacedeskServiceTray.exe
C:\Windows\System32\spacedeskConsole.exe
Then run services.msc, find spacedeskService and check if the status is Running.
For further analysis, please send us the following:
– run dxdiag.exe on your primary machine, click “Save all information” and send us the output file
– spacedeskSetup.log file located in C:\Users\Public
– setupapi.dev.log file located in C:\Windows\INF
Please save all requested files in one folder, then right-click -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file in your next reply.
Hi @jdmusic,
spacedesk is still in BETA version.
spacedesk Viewer Pro will not be available anytime soon.
I had 2 direct USB clients (both Galaxy Tab SM-T290 tablets running on the latest Android 11 with current updates) and 1 network client (an older Nexus 7 tablet running on Android 5.1.1 that connects over a 2.4Gb network, still very decent response). I have 2 additional external monitor connected through the laptop’s Intel Iris graphics adapter.
I should have clarified my experience with device manager’s leftovers. I realize that is not an accurate description. On a previous uninstall that I had to force finish and after rebooting, the device manager showed an entry for the spacedesk virtual Bus. I just removed it then and have made an habit of checking any trace of spacedesk remains. In my last uninstall/upgrade, besides the monitors I did not encounter any other refrences to spacedesk.
Hi @philferrar,
Currently no plans for ChromeOS or Linux version of spacedesk Driver or Viewer app.
Hi @lobodelcaribe,
Thank you very much for your detailed feedback.
Before the uninstall steps you provided, how many client devices are you using for spacedesk connection?
Were all of them connected over the network? Or was there a client device connected over Android USB cable?
Can you please tell us the leftovers of spacedesk in your device manager (except for the Generic MOnitors)?
how buy spacedesk viewee pro by iaodnor androide
Hi @frederiklenius,
If spacedesk Android USB is already enabled in the spacedesk Driver COnsole, spacedesk Viewer app in the android device should automatically launch and connect upon USB cable plug, no need to select anything in the USB preference option.
Could you please check in your Android device settings -> Developer’s option if USB debugging is enabled.
If it’s enabled, please disable it and try again with spacedesk Android USB connection.
Hi @noob_gamr,
Current spacedesk Viewer App is not capable on waking up Android device (from screen lock).
You have to manually wake up your device to launch/connect the spacedesk Viewer app.
spacedesk Android Viewer only has Automatic Connect (via IP or PC name) feature in the settings.
If this is set, it will automatically connects to the specified IP address or PC name upon manually launching the spacedesk Viewer App.
Hi @mcclack
Our MSI installer is designed to delete the spacedesk program files after installation that’s why it is expected to be emptied.
Did the installer returns any error message box during installation?
Is this the first time you install spacedesk? Or do you already have a previous version installed?
For further analysis, please send us the following:
– run dxdiag.exe on your primary machine, click “Save all information” and send us the output file
– spacedeskSetup.log file located in C:\Users\Public
– setupapi.dev.log file located in C:\Windows\INF
Please save all requested files in one folder, then right-click -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file in your next reply.
downloaded spacedeck , specified the path to the folder , games > spacedeskTemporarySetupFiles > amd64 . apart from this folder , there is nothing else , it is empty , I tried to reinstall the program and update the drivers , nothing helps
Hi @lobodelcaribe,
We just updated the Troubleshooting Uninstall chapter of the user manual https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/#item_517
Product code for v1060 msi is now available, please check.
Thank you Lea. I did not communicate correctly. The product code I am looking for is for v1.060.
Thank you Sara. I am with you 100%. Backing up is always advisable, even more so when working with beta software. Yes, because of the unique product code of each new spacedesk installation, none of the ones available in the documentation corresponds to V1.060, which is the one I am looking for to totally remove from my machine. It is better than trying to go raw into the Windows register, as I did once.
Hi @lobodelcaribe,
Thank you very much for your detailed feedback.
We will investigate this installer issue.
Could you please send us again the following updated logs:
– spacedeskSetup.log file located in C:\Users\Public
– setupapi.dev.log file located in C:\Windows\INF
Hi @lobodelcaribe,
Product code for v1057 is available in Troubleshooting Uninstall chapter of the user manual https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/#item_517
Could you make an option that enables the user to automatically (without clicking) take control of the remote device? Also, so that he can automatically exit the control mode when the cursor is at the edge of the screen from which the input was made.
I use Spacedeck to control my laptop from a computer, and the extra clicks and keyboard shortcuts annoy me a little.
If I could enter the laptop control mode by entering the Spacedeck Viewer window, and exit it by reaching the edge of the screen with the cursor on the laptop, it would be more convenient. This would actually be combining two devices to control from one, and the transition between them was like a cursor transition between two monitors on the same computer.
Could you make it so that I could keep an old android tablet plugged in to my PC 24/7 and have it unlock when my PC turns on?
My tablet continues to charge when my PC is off, and connects to spacedesk automatically when my PC boots. However, this does not happen when the tablet screen is off. Any way to fix this?
TO respond to your question, I tried issuing a stop spacedeskservice but the Here is an update. I finally decide to go the very painstaking way and remove every single entry reference for spacedesk in the windows registry. That finally allowed me t reinstall v1.057. After a couple of days, one of the tablets connected via USB stopped working (just black screen with a menu icon on the right). I noticed that there is a new version of the console, V1.060. I uninstalled V1.057 using it’s msi file and installed the new version. Still, a black screen on the tablet. Uninstalled V1.060 using its own Msi and tried installing again. Now we are back to square one. The installation failed. Again going through the regular end user process but to no avail. Please see all the steps I took with V1.057 and that is what I have now done with V1.060. The uninstall process seems to leave an orphan entry of spacedeskService.
I hope this may help you to try to pinpoint the issue. It is just not safe for the general user to poke around with the registry to get rid of an improperly uninstalled software
Hi @hoomiehoomie-de,
Are you connecting via direct Android USB cable connection?
Or over the network (wired/wireless)?
For assistance, please also check the Troubleshooting -> Network Connection chapter in the user manual
https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/#item_489.
hey 🙂
yesterday ive installed spacedesk and it worked very good with a PC and a tablet, connected via USB-cable.
today, i started spacedesk on PC and tablet and again, direct connection, no problems.
2 minutes later, the connection lost and the IP can not been found anymore.
and here we are, i did try everything…restart spaceviewer, restart the tablet, type in the ip from the PC etc…
but no chance so far – the spacedesk viewer on the tablet “can not find a primary machine”.
and i have no clue, why and how i could fix it.
maybe you have ideas??
thank you much!
sebastian
Hi @switchplay7149,
Good to hear that it worked.
In case you encounter any issues with spacedesk just let us know.
We are always glad to receive user feedback.
OK, I deleted your previous screenshot.
Hi @fuzzy,
For further analysis, could you please send us the following:
– run dxdiag.exe on your primary machine, click “Save all information” and send us the output file
– spacedeskSetup.log file located in C:\Users\Public
– setupapi.dev.log file located in C:\Windows\INF
Please save all requested files in one folder, then right-click -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file in your next reply.
Hi @switchplay7149,
Thanks for sending the reg file.
Please follow the steps below:
– Go to C:\Users\christian.ertl\AppData\Roaming\BetterDiscord\plugins and copy the spacedesk_driver_Win_10_64_v1050_BETA.msi there.
– Extract the *.reg file inside the regedit-data-modified.zip which I attached, double click it to merge in your registry.
It’s the same reg file you sent I just added “PackageName” and set it to “spacedesk_driver_Win_10_64_v1050_BETA.msi” in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer
\Products\325F9F2F024C6954BB7A89B74FE05538\SourceList
– Then go back to C:\Users\christian.ertl\Downloads\spacedeskMsiTraceGenerate where spacedesk_driver_Win_10_64_v1050_BETA.msi is located and right-click the get_trace.bat and run as Administrator.
– If the “Remove” button is available please try to click it.
Otherwise, proceed with installation, then run again the msi and uninstall it via “Remove”.
-If it still fails, please send us the updated spacedeskmsi_trace file.
I can’t install spacedesk or repair it.
This show me when I want to install or repair it.
OK. Did you also check in service.msc window? Is it “Stopped”?
How about the Audio? Is it enabled when the issue happened?
If yes, can you please try without remote Audio in the viewers and check if spacedesk will still turn OFF.
Hi @switchplay7149,
I see.. looks like System Restore point is broken.
Next to try:
– Run “regedit” on your primary machine
– go to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes
\Installer\Products\325F9F2F024C6954BB7A89B74FE05538
– then right-click the “325F9F2F024C6954BB7A89B74FE05538” registry key, select “Export”
– Save the exported *.reg file in a folder then zipped it and send it to us.
Using the last spacedeskmsi_trace.txt you sent, is “spacedesk_driver_Win_10_64_v1050_BETA.msi” still in C:\Users\christian.ertl\Downloads\spacedeskMsiTraceGenerate folder?
Hi @belle,
Based on the tutorial video, you are connecting via HTML5 Viewer which is also running on your primary machine, right?
I assume when you connect the HTML5 viewer on your machine, it’s in mirror mode. But you want it in extend mode, right?
Then you can easily switch to extend mode, just open the Windows Display Settings and switch the mirrored displays to extend.
For assistance, please check Configuration and Settings -> Windows Driver (Primary Machine) chapter https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/#item_469.
Hi @lobodelcaribe,
Your first 3 post seems to be in need of approval. Not sure why.. but anyway I already approved it and now visible in the thread.
OK, first we have to remove this orphan service before running again the msi installer for clean installation.
What was the result when you tried the “sc delete” command?
Did you try “sc stop spacedeskService” first before the “sc delete spacedeskService”?
There is no remove option. Only prompts for install. I went through the remove / reboot routine several times. It seems like the spacedesk service became orphan.
Hi @kadiya,
Could you please check if your current graphics adapter has WDDM version below than 2.0.
Just run dxdiag.exe, click Display tab and check for WDDM version.
For more info please refer to “Windows 11/10 Desktop Duplication (mirror) option not available” chapter in the
https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/#item_484
I’m installed Spacedesk v1.0.57 on Win 11 22h2. Unfortunately can’t duplicate the display.
If anyone knows how to duplicate the display please help me.
Thank you for the information regarding the older iPad 2’s. If that is the case, I am a little sad because your app home page states iPadOS 9.3 or later which gives the impression that the iPad 2 hardware would be compatible as long as it can run 9.3.5.
But also, it doesn’t really explain why installing the space desk app on an iPad Pro 12.9 1st gen (iPadOS 16) only installs spacedesk app version 1.0.49 which isn’t listed within the version history on the app’s home page. Shouldn’t this iPad model be able to install the most recent spacedesk app version 1.62 ? This IPad is also not managed and is just a fresh install from the app store.
Update: The services manager shows an entry for spacedeskService that indicates a “Failed to read Description. Error Code 2” message. I tried removing it Executing the sc delete SpacedeskService from an administrator command prompt but it does not remove this entry. FYI – Did this before and AFTER rebooting.
I tried just now one more time following the sequence you suggested. Still aborts installation with a Installation Failed message upon reaching the Spacedesk Service installation. Look forward to your thoughts.
Hi @lobodelcaribe,
Thanks for sending the requested files.
Based on the logs, there’s a failed uninstallation of spacedesk Service.
The specified service has already been marked for deletion. This will require a PC reboot to complete the uninstallation.
Please try again the “Remove” option in v1057 msi then reboot.
Afterwards, try again the installation.
