Thank you for your reply. Another problem is that after the spacedesk server is turned on, the viewer can connect without restriction as long as it knows the ip address, and there is no notification to the server to remind the user that it is connected by other computers. This has security and privacy risks. It is recommended to set a password option for the server, and only those who know the password can connect.
Hi, I’ve found that there were some connection issues when using spacedesk and connecting both devices to my home network. So i tried to use the mobile hotspot of my main device and have my secondary device connect to it. this doesnt work though, and it says its connecting, then exits out. Any fixes?
I’ve included a link to a video of the problem im having, if my explaination doesnt make sense

Hi @manos40,
Touchscreen is already supported by spacedesk.
You can easily enable it on the viewer settings.
Please check the Configuration & Settings -> Viewer Device (Secondary Machine) chapter in the user manual for more details https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/.
By the way, is your Lenovo tablet Android? or Windows?
Hi @lizrieg,
Multi-touch (e.g. pinch to zoom) feature is not yet supported by spacedesk.
This feature is already in our to do list but will not be available anytime soon.
We are currently very busy with higher prioritized features and bug fixes.
Hello there.
So I successfully installed the driver on Windows desktop pc and the app on my Lenovo Tab tablet and it works perfect as a second extra monitor but how about the touchscreen on it?? can I use it somehow I don’t understand the instructions in the manual if there are any?
Is it via the spacedesk viewer or some think??
Thanks in advance
Hi @ngoof,
Did you notice any error notification on primary machine?
Please check if any of the following driver is still present on your primary machine, please run command prompt as administrator then type the following commands and check if status is RUNNING or STOPPED:
sc query ddkmd
sc query dlkmd
sc query FLxHCIv
sc query lci_proxykmd
sc query lci_proxywddm
If you get a RUNNING or STOPPED status then type this next command:
sc delete
Then after executing all the commands please reboot your primary machine and try again with spacedesk.
Hello, I would like to inquire about my issue with spacedesk. I cannot connect to my iPad as it shows the Disconnected by server error, code 2-5- and error info 0-5, Connected Time: 00:00:01. i am using an old iPad 2 with iOS 9. I have also uninstalled splashtop wired display on both devices
Hi @irmuunshde,
In this case, you don’t have viewer app connected yet, right?
Did you already tried to reboot your machine?
If you uninstall spacedesk, will it disappear?
Hi @cqpeak,
Thank you very much for the feedback.
1. Currently, to emulate a right-click event, you have to do the left-click + hold then release gesture.
The actual right-click and scroll button click from a real USB mouse device are not yet being recognized by the spacedesk Android Viewer app.
We will ask our developer about this then get back to you.
2. Optimization of HTML5 viewer is currently not our priority at the moment.
We are focused on improving our native Viewer apps (e.g. Android/iOS/Windows).
3. Not sure what you are asking here, but you can also save the full spacedesk HTML5 web page locally so you don’t have to go to https://viewer.spacedesk.net/ every time you want to connect the spacedesk.
4. Unfortunately, it’s not possible. The idea of spacedesk is to allow user to have another Windows desktop screen (mirrored/extended) over the local area network via secondary device’s e.g. Android, iOS, Windows, etc.
Hi @irmuunshde,
Maybe your monitor rescaled after spacedesk installation.
Could you please open the display settings and try to switch to a different screen resolution then back to it’s default/recommended settings.
I downloaded the spacedesk driver and as soon as i download it my monitor got a black bar on four sides. The black bar is like 5mm in thickness. Is this supposed to happen or what happened. Please help me fix this problem. It is very annoying.
Hi @philippe-marlieroutlook-com,
Is this the first time you install spacedesk?
Or do you already have an older version on your machine?
For further analysis, could you please send us the following:
– run dxdiag.exe on your primary machine, click “Save all information” and send us the output file
– spacedeskSetup.log file located in C:\Users\Public
– setupapi.dev.log file located in C:\Windows\INF
Please save all requested files in one folder, then right-click -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file on your next reply.
Hi @shodan,
For RPi device, you can only use our spacedesk HTML5 Viewer page.
HTML5 VIEWER is much slower than our native apps on Android/iOS/Windows.
This is due to technical limitation of HTML5/Javascript.
You can also save the HTML5 Viewer page locally so you don’t have to go to viewer.spacedesk.net over the internet every time you want to connect.
Hi @multi-cat,
Are you using the most recent spacedesk driver v1.0.14 and Android Viewer app v0.9.76?
Does the transparent square appears upon viewer connect?
Can you please send us the screenshot of the full screen showing the transparent square + software keyboard issue?
The first screenshots you sent is a bit unclear to us.
Hi,
I have tried to use an RPi 4 as spacedesk viewer.
It “works” but it’s slower and lower quality than VNC, despite using a wired ethernet connection.
I used the browser and html5 viewer and I suspect this is why it failed.
Also my final setup will not have any kind of internet access so going to viewer.spacedesk.net would be impossible anyway.
Is there any way to use spacedesk on RPi4 satisfactorily ?
I have tried steamlink on the raspberry pi 4 for comparison. Image quality is flawless, latency is below 100ms.
It works great but in my case I want to add new monitors, not just mirror my main display !
Thanks !
Hi @mpl,
But I need to use some Android Apps on my tablet in the Spacedesk viewer. The problem is that I don’t know how to open Android App in the Spacedesk viewer.
This is not possible. spacedesk Viewer app don’t have access to any third party applications installed on your android tablet.
spacedesk Viewer app only receives Desktop screen update from your server primary machine and sends back remote input(e.g. touch, keyboard) to server primary machine over your local area network.
Hi @shodan,
Unfortunately, using VLC as spacedesk viewer is not possible.
spacedesk Server will not recognize it because it is not ours.
Hi @chaos_02,
For further analysis, could you please send us the following:
– run dxdiag.exe on your primary machine, click “Save all information” and send us the output file
– spacedeskSetup.log file located in C:\Users\Public
– setupapi.dev.log file located in C:\Windows\INF
Hi @sblantipodi,
The space between the tray icons will become a bit wider when Windows detects a touch driver being installed, with spacedesk it will be the spacedesk virtual HID device.
This is a default Windows behavior.
Just try to connect a spacedesk viewer then send a touch input and it will automatically plug our spacedesk virtual HID device underneath spacedesk virtual Bus device in device manager, then if Windows detects it the spacing between tray icons will happen.
I’m trying to use SpaceDesk on my Main PC and it has worked before but after countless tries to reinstall it I just get “unplugged” devices or Detached Desktops.
Checking in Windows device manager shows me Error Code 8 When a device is connected, scrolling to Installation errors in the Details Tab shows
1. Treiber ist für diese Plattform nicht vorgesehen.
(Driver is not intended for this platform.)
2. E0000234
I dont know what to do anymore, the PC is being picked up by all clients, I just can’t put it into duplicating or extending the display and it shows this exclamation mark in device manager.
Hi,
Just found spacedesk looking for a solution for the same problem with MS Teams with a 43″ 4k monitor.
I also have to use some old software that keeps maximizing when interacting with it, and on a 4k monitor gets annoying really fast.
What I really wanted to find is a virtual display driver that would use a regular window as a secondary monitor. Searched everywhere but can’t find anything like that, spacedesk with a local viewer seems the closest to it.
Nvm, I tried reinstalling Spacedesk on my windows pc for the. 3rd time and it works now. Lol.
I am trying to use spacedesk for the first time.
It works, however not usable for my purpose (just having 2 extra monitors on my PC but over the network)
I would like to try using VLC as the spacedesk viewer (instead of the current HTML5 viewer which is too slow and unable to be automated)
Hello, spacedesk is a great tool. After testing, there are several problem reports:
1. The Android spacedesk viewer APP is installed on the Android type TV (the mouse and keyboard are inserted into the Android TV), once I click the right mouse button, there will be a prompt to exit the app, so the right-click function is invalid. Similarly, the middle mouse button scroll is also invalid.
2. It is recommended to optimize the Html5 function, it will be a great experience. For example, in html5 mode, the keyboard is basically invalid and cannot input anything; the mouse is a little jumpy and not precise enough;
3. If want to use the html5 viewer, then I need to enter https://viewer.spacedesk.net/, can it be my own website? Do I need to deploy a separate server?
4. Is it possible to send a specific desktop program to the viewer instead of the entire screen?
Thanks.

Hi @phxhere,Lea,
I Encountered the same issue, allthough on a Windows machine and Android.
Spacedesk had been working great before.
Checked any Splashtop software: no,
Norton virus: OK, Spacedesk was allowed,
Rebooting software and machines didn’t work.
Network: OK, in same range IP.
But after removing the Spacedesk driver on my primary machine/PC (still used *WIN_10_64_v0967_BETA.msi), downloading the newest version (*v1013_BETA.msi) and (re)installing it, the issue was solved.
Kind regards from Trudy.
Hi @minhamae1,
spacedesk does not support Windows 7 any more (Windows 7 life cycle has expired).
Though spacedesk Windows 8.1 driver can still be installed on Windows 7 we cannot guarantee that it will work properly now.
Any driver bugs on our legacy driver (Windows 7/8.1) will not be fixed anymore.
We are current focusing on improving and bug fixing our spacedesk driver for Windows 10-latest.
Maybe you could still try some of our suggestions:
– make sure that you have the updated Intel GPU driver
– try with/without aero theme
– when the icon disappears, please check if spacedeskService is still running, just run “services.msc”
Hi @alyssonwalker,
Yes, in order to download and use spacedesk, you must meet the minimum system requirements. For an iOS device, it requires at least iOS version 9.3 otherwise you cannot install the spacedesk iOS Viewer app.
Another option is to connect via spacedesk HTML5 Viewer which operates over a web browser.
Just open a web browser (Safari or Google Chrome) then go to http://viewer.spacedesk.net/ and try to connect to the IP address of your Windows 10/8.1 primary machine.
For assistance, please also check the user manual https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/.
Hi @ducna,
Current spacedesk Windows Viewer from Microsoft Store does not handle auto-rotation yet.
This is currently the default behavior of Windows rotation on a Windows tablet device.
Could you please, check on the display settings of your surface device if the rotation lock is enabled or disabled?
Hi,
since I installed spacedesk the space between my tray icons has been widely reduced.
How can I restore the space between the icons?
Even uninstalling spacedesk does not solved the problem.
Using Windows 10 here.
Thanks
Davide
More information:
When the Task Manager is on the extended display on the Android 5.1 tablet all appears to be fine. If the display is idle of nothing on it and no activity then on the Android Tablet the display is frozen on whatever was displayed on it last. Windows 10 shows that the extended display does not exist. Space desk driver on the primary Windows 10 machine is showing as idle and no remote remote network connections.
A few seconds after I double clicked the system tray icon to show the driver’s status window on the Android tablet it shows that the display is not connected and the network connection between the spacedesk driver and the app on the Android tablet was re-established.
It looks like the data connection over the WiFi is disconnected either from the Andoid App or the spacedesk driver and when I bring the spacedesk driver status to the foreground, after a few seconds the connection is established and the extended display resumes.
Android app’s option to auto-reconnect is turned on. Automatic connect is off. Automatic server discovery is on.
Hope this feedback helps.
Hello, what’s up!
I’m having some problems with the Spacedesk Driver when I connect other devices in the computer. When starting the system, the server works normally and the icon appears in the Windows (7) notification bar, but when I try to connect a cell phone (any cell phone, wireless or USB) the system recognizes the video (screen blinks), however the screen goes black on the phone and after some time looking for the video, the phone simply disconnects and the icon in Windows disappears.
I would like to know what can cause this, as far as I know there is no antivirus enabled on this computer and the formatting is recent (less than 1 month).
There are any settings in the system that could cause this error or any other driver installation conflict?
OS: Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1
Spacedesk Driver Version: v0.9.89
Display Driver: Intel(R) G41 Express Chipset (onboard)
Thanks in advance!
Hi Lea,
Actually I don’t want to duplicated any of my PC screens on my tablet. I only extend my PC display on my tablet and it works properly. But I need to use some Android Apps on my tablet in the Spacedesk viewer. The problem is that I don’t know how to open Android App in the Spacedesk viewer. I can open them outside the Spacedesk viewer but not inside the Spacedesk viewer.
I cleared “all display settings” and reconnected the Spacedesk viewer. Unfortunately it didn’t change anything.
As far as I remember, in the previous version of Spacedesk there was no distinction between Spacedesk between the primary PC (server) and the secondary machine (client).
Thank you very much for your kind help.
Hi @mpl,
switching to desktop duplication does not work on your side, right?
Could you please try to right-click the spacedesk tray icon, then select “Clear All Display Settings”.
After that please try reconnect the spacedesk viewer app then switch to desktop duplication.
Hi @testcb00,
Ahh now I see what you meant.
Currently spacedesk cannot specify which network interface to use in case there are multiple network interface available in a primary machine, it will always use the default network interface.
spacedesk team had a discussion about it before so I think this will be in our plans but will not be available anytime soon.
Hi @mormonmunk,
Did you install the most recent spacedesk Driver v1.0.12 from our website?
Currently my solution is to use my Bitdefender Firewall, only allow spacedeskService.exe using the OpenVPN Adapter IP (Port 28252) to pass data.
I use spacedesk for a 3rd screen off of my tablet at work. Yesterday it worked perfectly. Today it’s giving me a few error boxes.
Disconnected by Service Error
Error Code: 2-5
Error Code 0-5
Connected Time: 00:00:01
I also get a notification from the computer that reads
spacedesk x10
spacedesk Display Driver has expired!
I was saw on other forums (the previous website) to run a diagnostic and share it here.
Oh great, wise spacedesk forum moderator what may I do to appease the program gods?
No, it is ok for me to manually type IP Address.
My question is to block spacedesk listen to other Adapter.
As all the device in the network can find my PC and connect to spacedesk server, I am worried about this.
That’s why I want to know if there is a way to bind the spacedesk server to a specific interface.
Please see the below png files.
The Unknown Interface 53: TAP-Windows Adapter V9
is the OpenVPN Interface.
The Wireless 802.11 Interface: Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6E AX210 160MHz
is the Wi-Fi Interface.
I don’t know why spacedesk cannot recognize OpenVPN IP Address, but I can type the VPN Local Address and connect it.
Hello @dagni,
Yes, that is correct.
The network usage will depends on the current screen update on the viewer app.
spacedesk server is sending a compressed images of the screen updates to viewer app. So the bigger the screen update the bigger packet size will be sent over the network.
Hi @dieginho15151414,
Thanks for the feedback.
Are both primary machine and android tablet still connected on the same local area network?
-i have my primary machine which is my pc, and I’m trying to connect it to my secondaty machine which is mi android tablet, i installed spacedesk on the pc on the website and the spacedesk app con playstore on my tablet, like i specified the android app has the version 0.9.76 and the spacedesk program on my computer has the version 1.0.12.
Updated version of spacedesk on both side is good.
But are both machine connected on the same local area network or wifi network?
Can you please try to ping the IP address of your secondary machine from your primary machine to check if both machines are reachable to each other?
To ping, just run Command Prompt on your primary machine then type “ping 192.168.x.x” (check the IP address of your android device which can be found in the wifi settings).
What is current Network band on your primary machine and secondary machine? Are they both connected on 2.4GHz or 5GHz network?
Hi @ezams,
Thanks for the screen shot.
The driver is already marked for deletion, which means you just have to reboot your primary machine to completely delete the driver.
After reboot, spacedesk should work now on your side.
Hi @testcb00,
spacedesk does not use any third party interface like OpenVPN.
Could you please further explain, how does spacedesk can access OpenVPN interface on your side?
Well, you should have read the Title of this Thread 😉 “Spacedesk Viewer on Linux” so only the Viewer works in Wine, the Driver will probably never run in Wine -> as would need to have some really special X-hooks.
Regards
Hi @zonyl,
This feature is already available in the current spacedesk.
As of now, it will only work if Videowall is enabled.
On spacedesk Server window, please click the Settings button -> Video Wall Engine…
make sure to switch ON the Videowall then select the viewer connected on the left side tree view, then you will find a “Flipped Display (for mirroring)” check box on the right panel.
For assistance, please check Video Wall Configuration chapter in our user manual https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/.
Hi @joel,
Thanks for the info.
Currently the viewer app is on extension mode, that’s why there’s no task bar and icons on the extension display.
Do you want to use spacedesk for Desktop Duplication? If yes, you can easily switch to mirror mode via display settings window of your primary machine.
In mirror/duplication mode, you will be able to mirror your primary display on your viewer app screen.
For assistance, please check Configuration and Settings -> Windows PC (Primary Machine) chapter on our user manual https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/.
Hi @marcioramos,
Thanks for sending the requested logs.
It seems that you are installing an outdated spacedesk Driver (v0.9.33).
Please try to install our most recent spacedesk Driver v1.0.12 available on our website https://forum.spacedesk.net.
Hi @ezams,
Please check if any of the following driver is still present on your primary machine, please run command prompt as administrator then type the following commands and check if status is RUNNING or STOPPED:
sc query ddkmd
sc query dlkmd
sc query FLxHCIv
sc query lci_proxykmd
sc query lci_proxywddm
If you get a RUNNING or STOPPED status then type this next command:
sc delete < servicename >
Then after executing all the necessary commands please reboot your primary machine and try again with spacedesk.
..so a week later spacedesk viewer app cannot discover your primary machine anymore?
-yes, that’s right
Are both primary machine and android tablet still connected on the same local area network?
-i have my primary machine which is my pc, and I’m trying to connect it to my secondaty machine which is mi android tablet, i installed spacedesk on the pc on the website and the spacedesk app con playstore on my tablet, like i specified the android app has the version 0.9.76 and the spacedesk program on my computer has the version 1.0.12.
Do you have any third party firewall software installed on either machine?
– no i dont
Do you maybe have VPN (Virtual Private Network) active?
– i dont think so, i never use vpn
It’s happened again. As I type this I can’t move the cursor to the second display on the Android tablet. Windows 10’s display settings shows that there is only one monitor. The desktop is still being shown on the second display on the Android tablet and is static. I extended the display and it’s has been about an hour without me even moving the mouse pointer onto the extended second screen. The Spacedesk server’s status is “ON (idle)”.
I tapped the screen on the Android tablet which then the app changed it’s display showing that the display is reconnecting, then connected and the extended display on the Android tablet is now active. The server status is now showing “ON (connected)”.
I don’t have a screen saver active on my laptop and the display did not blank/power off.
Server version is 1.0.12 and the Android app version is 0.9.76.
