Actually… To fix the issue, go to your touchpad settings and enable “leave touchpad on when a mouse is connected”.
I guess the connection to SpaceDesk creates a virtual mouse that Windows takes too seriously and kills the touchpad for it.

Happens to me on a laptop.
The connection to SpaceDesk Server immediately kills the trackpad and the only way to get a cursor back, is to connect an external mouse to my laptop.

    Hi @zhuchok,
Is your primary graphics adapter AMD Radeon?
Please try to disable the 10-bit Pixel Format in the AMD Radeon Software settings?
Just open the Radeon Software window, click the Settings icon on the top right side, then “Graphics” -> “Advanced” -> disable the “10-bit Pixel Format” then reboot your primary machine to apply the changes.
After that, please try again with spacedesk.

    Hi @dmanz56,

Does it only happen upon spacedesk client disconnect?
What is the current client screen resolution?
What is the network connection type between your server and spacedesk client? WiFi? Wifi Direct? USB tethering?

For further analysis, please send us the diagnostic files of your primary machine.
Just open the spacedesk Driver Console -> Diagnostics, then click the “Save All Information” button.
Note: NO NEED to switch the Diagnostic Collection ON/OFF.

    Hi @joshsum,
Thank you very much for sending your diagnostic logs.
Could you please check in the Windows display settings of your primary machine if there’s a detached second display (while “Display Off” is showing up on Viewer app).
If there’s a detached display, just attach it by selecting Extend or Duplicate in the Multiple displays dropdown menu.
OR use Display Switch, just press “Window key + P”.

For assistance, please check Configuration Settings -> Windows Driver (Primary Machine) in the user manual https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/#item_469.

Hello, I tried to delete the app and reinstall it, and turned off and on the cellular network and wlan according to the operation of the post, but the result was only the prompt “whether to allow connection to local devices”, but no “cellular network or wlan” prompt. I opened the “Apps that allow the use of wireless LAN and cellular networks” in the settings, and “Spacedesk” did not appear in it.
I also found a similar situation on the Chinese Internet that the prompt “whether to use the network” did not appear. It seems to be a problem with the underlying sock. Can you take a look and fix this problem?

Which driver did you delete? Is it spacedesk?
    How did you delete it?
Did you uninstall the whole spacedesk server/driver software properly via Windows Control Panel or via spacedesk MSI installer?

I use Spacedesk with an iPad 2nd Generation with a Windows 11 PC. All of a sudden, my app stopped working properly today. I deleted the app to reinstall it. However, when I went to reinstall the app, the App Store said that Spacedesk isn’t compatible with my iPad. How can I fix this problem?

Trying out other software similar to Spacedesk I am able to get option to dock windows native touch keyboard. With Spacedesk it only allows for floating keyboard that cannot be docked to bottom of screen.

I am using Android app on 8 inch and 10.5 inch tablet and Windows 11 PC.

I don’t know if it’s a screen size thing, but on other app I mentioned with same resolution it presents me with docked keyboard option.

The attached picture is what I want.

    Hi @nicholaushuttongmail-com,

We understand that you are having trouble connecting spacedesk to your laptop, please try to follow this workaround…

    – You can double check if both of your primary and secondary machine are connected within the same local area network
    – Try to see if spacedesk or C:\Windows\system32\spacedeskService.exe is included in antivirus or firewall’s exception list. this is to
allow spacedesk service to establish incoming and outgoing connections
    – If you have VPN (Virtual Private Network) active in your machine, please disable it
    – If you are connecting over wireless network, please make sure your wifi router has client isolation disabled
    – Try to check if your current Network profile in your primary machine is Public, if so, switch it to Private. you can navigate this
options by going to Windows Settings -> Internet & Network

You can also check Troubleshooting -> Network Connection chapter in the user manual https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/

on the other hand, have you tried switching On/Off your spacedesk Driver Console whenever the issue occurs? and also, can you tell us what machine are you using for spacedesk viewer. Android/iOS/Windows?

My tablet stops picking up the connection with my laptop. This happens every so often and usually I just uninstall spacedesk and reinstall and then it works. I have uninstalled both on my laptop and my tablet twice and its still not picking it up. I chose ‘repair’ and it still didn’t fix issue.

Hi, I’m trying to run the spacedesk driver console on a Hyper-V virtual machine with GPU-Partitioning enabled.

It works fine when connecting extra displays to the VM machine using the Spacedesk Viewer app and them working as extended displays.
As soon as i create a videowall and attach 2 displays to the videowall, 1 of them freezes up and wont respond.
If i un-assign the display it will start working again. just won’t work in the videowall profile.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi @rodders1947, @floraoliviaa,
It seems that you’re experiencing a common issue related to missing windows/applications in windows 10 and 11, this event usually happens when your app/window is accidentally placed inside or under the taskbar while using dual display through physical (HDMI/DVI/VGA) or network connection in extend mode which means spacedesk server/viewer is not the cause of the issue. I have tried reproducing a missing window in this video. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1–zutXirZx3soOS1h5Ouf-hD1TU_BVsC/view?usp=sharing
the video showcase that some applications that goes missing in multiple display are usually under the taskbar and you won’t be able to access it again or move it unless you restart the application.
you can try this workaround to find/make those missing applications visible in your screen to access it:

if you are using windows 11 in your primary screen:
-press Windows Key + Tab -> (all of your running application will appear in both screen) hover your mouse to your missing window/map and press right click -> press snap right or snap left.

if you are using windows 10 in your primary screen:
-hover your mouse in the taskbar and press right click -> choose “Cascade Windows”. (all of your active applications will appear in your screens including the missing one)

    Hi @Davyd,
About the decreasing screen image effect upon spacedesk viewer connection in windows 11, this effect is a built-in and expected behavior in the previous and new windows versions but is more visually present in windows 11. I have attached a video link that showcase your possible problem — https://drive.google.com/file/d/1P9tmk1CUQj4Z_6gRjg61z79s4SRl48Ss/view?usp=sharing
the video shows the zooming out effect in the main monitor (win 11) with a notification sound when you connect spacedesk viewer. please let us know if this is the same as what you are referring to. if it is indeed the same problem and you don’t want the animation effect, you can just disable it on windows 11 settings by clicking the windows icon -> click settings -> Accessibility -> Visual effects -> and then turn off the Animation Effect option. you can also just try Windows key + U -> Visual Effect -> turn off Animation effect. see attached file for a more detailed tutorial.

Internet bandwidth does not matter (spacedesk is not using the internet at all). The only thing which matters is LAN connection (Local Area Network) between PCs, and router (e.g. bad WiFi coverage) and the router itself. Thus I can only refer again to Lea’s post above…

    Hi @akseone,

    ..very strange and unusual situation.

Simplest thing you could immediately try:
Download newest spacedesk Driver version Beta RC v1.0.50
    Install the v1.0.50 msi
    Uninstall v1.0.50 msi again.
Cleanup routine should remove all leftovers of v1.0.50 and all older versions.

    The hard way:
    Goto instruction manual https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/
Goto chapter “UNINSTALL ON WINDOWS PRIMARY MACHINE” => “Manual Uninstall (Troubleshooting Only)”
Do all 7 steps (Step 1 – Step 7) mentioned in this chapter
Chapter “APPENDIX”=> “File List” states all executable files. After deleting all these, there should be nothing left to see any more.

If anything is coming back, then please also check which ones of the files stated underneath Chapter “APPENDIX”=> “File List” are coming back.

    Hi @normlality,

OK. It seems that it’s a network discovery issue in our iOS viewer app which happens in some iOS devices (especially if it’s from Mainland China).

For now, we still don’t have a fix for this issue, but our iOS developer is working on it.
We have received similar bug reports from various users before.
And one of them actually might have a valid explanation about this issue.
Since your iOS device (iPhone 11) was from Mainland China, spacedesk native app might not have a permission for networking.

    Hi @ml6,

    You can try 2 things:

    1. You can try to connect a virtual display without secondary machine connected using local host connection via HTML5 Viewer
Just open a web browser on your primary machine (e.g. Google Chrome, MS Edge), then go to http://viewer.spacedesk.net/ and connect to your local machine’s IP address.
Please take note that only 1 connection is allowed when using spacedesk HTML5 Viewer.

    2. Enable Videowall and set the Videowall Disconnect Delay to -1 (equivalent to infinite) in spacedesk Driver Console Window.
With disconnect delay set to infinite, it will not unplug the virtual display in your primary machine even after disconnecting the viewer app in your secondary machine. It will only unplug upon spacedesk server switch (OFF-ON) or machine reboot.

Then after setting up a fixed virtual display, you can manually move or put a specific software in the display, then it will stay there until the display unplugs.

Based on the setup logs, the uninstallation for spacedesk virtual HID device is hanging.
This is a known issue in that old installer version which we already fixed in the most recent version.
To solve this on your machine, please manually uninstall the spacedesk virtual HID device in Device Manager.

    – open Device Manager by running “devmgmt.msc”
    – click View tab -> Devices by connection
    – scroll down and find spacedesk virtual HID Device
    – expand first the spacedesk virtual HID Device and right-click “Uninstall device” each devices underneath it
    – then right-click “Uninstall device” the spacedesk virtual HID Device

Then try again to update with the latest spacedesk installer.

The security feature to prevent unwanted connections is not yet available in our current BETA version.
This feature will only be available once we released a PRO version.

For now, only disabling/enabling the spacedesk Server can prevent other users from connecting in your primary machine.
Also, you can always see which viewers are currently and previously connected via spacedesk Driver Console so your roommate cannot connect to your PC unnoticed.

    Hello,
    Hope you are well.
I am not sure I understand correctly what you want, but in case of attaching windows tablets to pcs or laptops (through LAN cable), you can try changing the spacedesk viewer setting (found on upper right before connecting both machines) to automatic connection and identifying the IPS address (or addresses) manually. This way, the secondary machine will automatically connect to the main unit each time they are connected together by the cable or through a specific IP address.

Hope this may be of any help
    Best regards,

    Hello,
    Hope you are well.
The short answer of what worked for me, try uninstalling and reinstalling spacedesk. Then if using LAN cable for connection, try changing the last digit in the manual IP address of the main machine.

I have been suffering exactly the same problem randomly appearing when using space desk to link a windows tablet to a windows laptop (win 10 then again after updating to win 11) through a LAN cable. Spacedesk works great this way but this problem appearing repeatedly randomly made me feel it is unstable. I tried different solutions (deleting the stored Spacedesk data, changing spacedesk viewer settings, changing screen resolution and orientation and function from extend to mirror, disconnecting all additional monitors, recalibrating the pen on the touch screen, uninstalling other touch software such as super display and xp pen) and finally I uninstalled then reinstalled desk viewer on both machines multiple times and cleaned the registry and restarted. After several attempt, Spacedesk was able to work as normal again but the problem of wrong positioned (flipped) pen /touch cursor occurred out of blue from time to time and I kept retrying the previous routine and repeating it till it works again.
The latest time this problem occurred, I suspected it might be caused by using different LAN cable to attach the tablet to the laptop. I thought this might be similar to resolution problems appearing on windows when trying different VGA cables in connecting the very same monitor to the laptop/pc.
Before trying the different procedures of uninstalling spacedesk and other probable conflicting programs, I reused the previous cable and this alone did not work. But when I changed the ethernet IP address which I have previously inserted manually, this worked ! The cursor returned to its right position again.
Hope this may be of any help for you or any similar issues appearing.
Thanks again for spacedesk developers for this great software and I hope they will provide reasonable paid options for subscription later on.
    Best regards
    Ali

Nothing is final yet. Current plans are: Probably only one free spacedesk Viewer can be connected to spacedesk Server. Additional simultaneously connected viewers need to be paid by in-app-purchases. Prices could probably range between €10 and €20 per viewer but we cannot confirm anything yet.

Routers can cause lags and latency. Bypassing them always improves performance.

Configure Windows Primary PC or Secondary Viewer Device as WiFi Access Point (Hotspot) and connect to it before connecting spacedesk. Please check chapter “Performance Tuning” in the instruction manual: https://spacedesk.net/user-manual

Can you also please monitor the CPU, memory and network load of spacedeskService.exe in your task manager while spacedesk viewers are connected?
And please also send us the diagnostic logs of your primary machine while spacedesk videowall is active.
Just open the spacedesk Driver Console -> Diagnostics, then click the “Save All Information” button.
PS: Saving all information will take a few seconds, then please send us the whole folder which contains all the diagnostic logs collected.
Please right-click the folder -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file in your next reply.
