    If the black and white screen is happening with your Windows 10/11 primary machine, could you please send us the diagnostic logs for further analysis. Just follow the steps below:
    – Open spacedesk Driver Console in your Windows primary machine
    – click the Diagnostics on the left side panel
    – if Debug View is not available, please click the download button first
    – switch Diagnostic Collection ON (make sure to click Yes in the User Account Control box to proceed)
    – try to connect your viewer app and reproduce the black and white issue
    – switch Diagnostic Collection OFF
    – click Save All Information button
    PS: Saving all information will take a few seconds, then please send us the whole folder which contains all the diagnostic logs collected.
    Please right-click the folder -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file in your next reply.

    Thank you very much for sending the diagnostic logs.
    Based on the logs, the spacedesk display is detached.
    You can easily attach it via Windows Display Settings, just click the detached then select “Extend/Duplicate” underneath “Multiple displays” drop down menu.

    I just updated everything again as you indicated and it’s still in black and white
    I tried the html but there is a lot of lag so I will abandon the best program in the world “spacedesk” until they release a new update, it is a pity because I used it exclusively for work. but thank you for your time and help

    Windows 10 spacedesk viewer cannot be installed without the Microsoft Store.
    However, the Windows 7 spacedesk Viewer can still be installed on Windows 10.
    Windows 7 spacedesk Viewer is a regular Windows Desktop application.

    You can set a static IP for your android phone/tablet but your spacedesk drivercan not shown on android device spacedesk viewer. And the phone Ip will be 192.168.42.x for phone/tablet but it will not be a problem to connect to pc spacedesk driver.

    Hi @thyagueau,

    Could you please try to uninstall the spacedesk in your primary machine using the “msi installer -> Remove” or using the Windows Control Panel, then reboot your primary machine, and reinstall it.

    If the above suggestion did not help, and you still have the failed installation error, please send us the following:
    – run dxdiag.exe on your primary machine, click “Save all information” and send us the output file
    – spacedeskSetup.log file located in C:\Users\Public
    – setupapi.dev.log file located in C:\Windows\INF

    Please save all requested files in one folder, then right-click -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file in your next reply.

    In fact, the window of streamdeck doesn’t open when Spacedeck is active.
    Streamdeck works in bachground only.

    I instaled spacedask a few weeks ago and it worked for around one week. Then the green light at the bottom of the screen where it says “server:on/off” won’t turn on whatever i did. So I tried to uninstal and reinstal spacedesk and right before the download ends, I get an error message saying that the download failed. I can still launch the spacedesk app but i get the same problem as before.

    It’s possible that the aspect ratio of your client screen does not match the current screen resolution used in a mirrored spacedesk display.
    What is the current screen resolution on your primary machine in spacedesk mirror mode?
    Can you tell us your primary machine’s and Android device’s native screen resolution?

    Thank you for quick reply,
    By following the steps specified, I have confirmed that Spacedesk now appears to reconnect without any problems.

    As far as I know, Spacedesk is the only application that can stream PC video with sound and wirelessly, so it is very useful.
    I am very surprised that such a rare application is available for free.
    Hopefully, there will be a separate high quality, low latency service like Duet Pro available for a fee.

    I’m looking forward to seeing the service evolve for the better!

    Hi @alion,
    You can try 2 things:

    1. You can try to connect a virtual display without secondary machine connected using local host connection via HTML5 Viewer.
    Just open a web browser on your primary machine (e.g. Google Chrome, MS Edge), then go to http://viewer.spacedesk.net/ and connect to your local machine’s IP address.
    Please take note that only 1 connection is allowed when using spacedesk HTML5 Viewer.

    2. Enable Videowall and set the Videowall Disconnect Delay to -1 (equivalent to infinite) in spacedesk Driver Console Window.
    With disconnect delay set to infinite, it will not unplug the virtual display in your primary machine even after disconnecting the viewer app in your secondary machine. It will only unplug upon spacedesk server switch (OFF-ON) or machine reboot.

    Hi @maciek,

    1. Yes. By default, spacedesk Server starts automatically upon Windows start up. You can check this via spacedesk Driver Console -> Control, on Configuration box where you can find the “Automatic Start at System Boot Time” check box.

    2. Yes, just download the spacedesk Windows 7 Viewer (version 0.9.39) on your laptop.
    Just make sure to check the Keyboard and Audio Speaker on Functionality settings before connecting it to your Primary PC.

    I encountered the same situation like yours, trying all the methods and failed.
    However, while testing with different wifi, it worked.
    I tried with my iPhone hotspot, it worked.
    Then I tried the other type of wifi (2.4G) from the same wifi in my house, it worked as well.

    The other type I mentioned above is that, there are two types of wifi from my home wifi, which are 5G and 2.4G respectively. I am not an network expert, there are two wifi connection I can use from the same wifi machine anyway.

    The point here for @lea is, my 5G wifi worked fine originally, but the problem occurred in early or mid-December.
    Now, whenever I want to use Spacedesk, I cannot use 5G wifi.
    Maybe you can inform your team about this?

    Thank you very much for sending the diagnostic logs.

    It seems that you have a Virtual Desktop (from https://www.vrdesktop.net/) installed in your primary machine.
    This software seems to have incompatibility issue with spacedesk.
    We were able to reproduce the same Display Off issue after installing the Virtual Desktop then reboot.

    Please try this workaround steps to make it work with spacedesk:
    – open device manager in your primary machine
    – go to Display adapters and right-click Enable device the “Virtual Desktop Monitor”
    – open spacedesk Driver Console then switch the spacedesk SERVER OFF-ON

    If the steps above did not help, the only option is to uninstall the Virtual Desktop app then reboot your primary machine.

    1. I must install spacedesk server on pc
    and spacedesk on laptop, im gonna install spacedesk server on pc using other monitor in my house, im gonna connect pc to laptop through ethernet and choose option in task manager “always run when pc starts” so when i start pc spacedesk opens and i can connect laptop to pc?

    In case you didn’t:

    On my host computer I went to: http://viewer.spacedesk.net/ where the following happened:

    1. Went to 127.0.0.1 – connected fine
    2. Went to my local IPv4 Address – connected fine
    3. Went to default router IP 192.168.1.1 – did not connect.

    spacedesk does not support IPv6 address.
    Have you tried setting a static IPv4 address and manually input this IP address on your iOS Viewer app?

    Ok, thanks for the feedback.
    I really think it has something to do with your current network. Since pinging the IP address of the client results to time out and that indicates that it cannot reach the client devices in the same network.

    Anyway, next thing to try – local host connection via HTML5 Viewer.
    Just open a web browser on your primary machine then go to http://viewer.spacedesk.net/ and connect to its own IP address OR to 127.0.0.1 and check if spacedesk can connect locally.

    Current spacedesk Windows Viewer app does not support it. But you can try local host connection with spacedesk HTML5 Viewer.
    Just open a web browser (e.g. MS Edge or Google Chrome) on your primary machine then go to http://viewer.spacedesk.net/ and connect to its own IP address or to 127.0.0.1.
    FYI: spacedesk supports 1 HTML5 Viewer connection only.

    Thanks for the suggestion, but still no client (Android or Apple) can detect the Primary Server.

    ALSO – I downloaded Spacedesk to another PC – took all the steps above and still no connection.

    I have tried Spacedesk on 3 PCs and 5 Tablets, and I just cannot get it to work.

    I hate not being able to resolve this, but I can’t really understand why its not working.

    This is a fantastic piece of software. I really need the viewer and driver to run on the same computer, as in connect to itself. Is there a way to tweak it to allow me to connect to 127.0.0.1/localhost? Thanks!!!

    Why you ask?

    I’ve got a BIG monitor occupying a ton of space. For live streaming I need to share a FULL SCREEN to enable certain features. I can’t share my whole screen because that would be too much. I can’t share a portion because that doesn’t enable those features. I’d love to share a Spacedesk display that doesn’t exist, and choose resolution. I do however want to be able to see the content that is being shown on it and that’s where the Viewer comes in. I can open it when I need it. When I don’t I can minimize it without disturbing the feed. All with one big display.

    If this touch issue is only observed with quicker, then maybe it’s a quicker issue.
    Since touch works on spacedesk in normal operation (without quicker).

    Answers below – and still no luck getting Spacedesk to Connect – all other prgrammes that need to connect do connect, so I’m guessing there needs to be something wrong with SpaceDesk.

    Please check in Control Panel -> Network & Internet -> Network and Sharing center -> Change advanced sharing settings,
    then check if Network discovery and File and printer sharing are ON. CHECKED EVERYTHING AND ALL ON – NOTHING CHANGED

    Are you sure that your wifi router don’t have any WiFi/AP/Client Isolation enabled? CHECKED AGAIN – NOTHING ISOLATED

    Is your primary machine (Surface) personal? Or is it company issued machine? – PERSONAL

    Is your Wifi network not a public network (e.g. University, Hotel, Restaurant)? PRIVATE HOME NETWORK

    Are your iPads from Mainland China? Are they WiFi only? Or with cellular? NOT FROM CHINA – a mix of WiFi ONLY and WIFi and CELLULAR – NOT WORKING ON ANY iPAD DEVICE REGARDLESS OF CELLULAR/WiFI ETC>

    Please check on your iPad Settings -> Privacy -> Local Network, if spacedesk is on the list and enabled? SPACEDESK VISIBLE AND ENABLED.

    Based on the logs, spacedesk server start looks good.

    Failed ping indicates that there’s a network issue (or something is blocking the network connection between primary and secondary devices). Your primary machine seems unable to reach your client devices.

    Please check in Control Panel -> Network & Internet -> Network and Sharing center -> Change advanced sharing settings,
    then check if Network discovery and File and printer sharing are ON.

    Are you sure that your wifi router don’t have any WiFi/AP/Client Isolation enabled?

    Is your primary machine (Surface) personal? Or is it company issued machine?
    Is your Wifi network not a public network (e.g. University, Hotel, Restaurant)?

    Are your iPads from Mainland China? Are they WiFi only? Or with cellular?

    Thank you very much for sending the diagnostic logs.
    Based on the logs, you have several similar software installed in your machine e.g. splashtop, Twomon, etc..

    Please try to to uninstall the splashtop Virtual display driver first, then check if spacedesk will work.
    Just open the splashtop Wired XDisplay Agent -> Advanced, then uninstall the Virtual Display driver then reboot.

    Note there are two additional monitors attached to computer 1) 24 inch 2560×1440 2) 13 inch 1920×1080 – both were set to disconnect leaving only virtual monitor on.

    Spacedesk behaves the same whether other monitors are on and extended or disconnected.

    Hi @candeman,

    For further analyzation of your reported issue, could you please send us a video recording while comparing the resolution using spacedesk and while using the other one?
    you can try to do and record the following:

    1. record the other app while showing us the resolution in windows settings > system > display, click the second screen and scroll down to resolution. also, please show us your touch keyboard
    2. record spacedesk android viewer settings. choose the resolution the same as the resolution you are using in step 1. upon connection, go to ‘second screen only’ mode and go to windows settings > system > display and click the second screen, please show us the resolution that is shown in there as well as your touch keyboard.

    you can send us the video by uploading it in any cloud storage app like google drive or dropbox and send us the link.

    Hi,

    I’m a new user but with a common problem.

    I’ve installed latest Spacedesk on my Windows 10PC (64bit) and the DriverConsole runs fine.

    Installed latest Spacedesk on 4 of my Apple devices (2 iPad Mini, 2 iPad).

    Whenever I load run Spacedesk on any of the Apple clients, I get the ‘Cannot Detect Server Message’

    I’ve read though a number of the forum posts and can confirm:

    1. All devices are on same network
    2. Spacedesk added to my Windows Defender ‘Allow List’
    3. Network on host (Win 10) is a wireless adaptor and network set to Private
    4. No AP blocks on my router
    5. Cannot access the host IP address (on either of the 4 clients) directly either in Spacedesk or via the HTML site.
    6. Ping’d my client IP address and all time out, but the router is not blocking as I can connect the iPads to my main PC via the
    network (when running a flight simulator).
    7. USB and WiFi hotspots also not connecting
    8. Not using a VPN
    9. Recycled the Spacedesk server ON/OFF
    10. Tried all above with an Android device and get the same results

    I’ve attached the diagnostics zip file to try and help.

    Appreciate any and all help and advice.

    I had spacedesk installed before but it suddenly stopped working, so I tried to update but got installation error. I then proceded to uninstall spacedesk and tryied to reistall but it stars downloading but near the end of the installation a message appears that says installation error.

    Hi there! It turns out the issue was with my wifi router not working! That’s why my tablet kept getting disconnected. The internet company fixed the problem and now spacedesk is working perfectly! Spacedesk makes my work soooo much easier by adding the 2nd monitor via my tablet. THANK YOU for a great product!

    To be able to change resolution in windows settings during spacedesk connection, you have to enable both ‘Use native android device resolution’ and ‘Use custom resolution’ in your spacedesk android viewer settings
