I had some kind of error and decided to reinstall spacedesk. I deleted all the files that I found, including what was in the registry. BUT when I installed spacedesk again, I got the error “you already have a newer version installed”

You should follow the proper way of uninstalling spacedesk to prevent this kind of problem.
The correct way of uninstalling spacedesk can be found in the spacedesk documentation’s UNINSTALL ON WINDOWS PRIMARY MACHINE chapter – https://manual.spacedesk.net/UNINSTALLONWINDOWSPRIMARYMACHINE.html.

Could you please send us the following files for further analysis.
– run dxdiag.exe on your primary machine, click “Save all information” and send us the output file
– spacedeskSetup.log file located in C:\Users\Public
– setupapi.dev.log file located in C:\Windows\INF
Please save all requested files in one folder, then right-click -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file in your next reply.
