Hi i have an old HP Pavilion G4-1311AU laptop running the latest version of Windows 10 Pro. Recently i’ve tried to install Spacedesk on my laptop but i was experiencing an issue which is the installation process stopped and my display turned off.

I took the battery out and tried to reboot the laptop but nothing happened, the screen does’nt turned on but the machine runs.

Right before i smash my laptop with a hammer, a revelation came to my head and told me to plug out then plug in my LCD or display cable, so i stripped down my laptop and did it then now my display turned on.

What cause of my problem? What i have to do to successfully install Spacedesk on my old laptop?

    Thank you

    PS: Sorry for bad english.

    Hi @cipoci,
Is spacedesk installation always turning off your laptop monitor?
Did you try it for several times and get the same issue?
For further analysis, could you please run dxdiag.exe on your primary machine, click “Save All Information”, then attach the output file (dxdiag.txt) on your next reply.

    Hi @Lea
Well i don’t have guts to try second attempt to install it, but FYI it runs well on my previous windows 7 32bit on the same laptop.

Could you please analyze it first to confince me before i go to second attempt?

    Thank you

    UPDATE

    Hi @Lea
I’ve tried to check whether my laptop can connect to other monitor or not
By pressing the ” windows + p ” button ” and it said it can’t.

So i checked on device manager and my display driver was microsoft basic,
so i updated the driver and now it can connect to other monitor.

I don’t know that would fix the issue or not, to be more sure i would like
to hear your analysis as well.

    Thank you.

    hi @Lea

i tried to install spacedesk again and have no issue.
and now it runs without any problems, seems that outdated driver was the cause of my issue

forgive me for wasting your time, and for not to try to make a deep investigation before i make a question.

thank you for your assistance and have a nice day.

    😉
