Hi @rmbdes,
On the multiple displays drop down menu, just select “Extend these displays”.
For assistance, please also check the Configuration and Settings -> Windows PC (Primary Machine) chapter in our user manual https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/.
This resolution limit only exists in the old spacedesk Viewer for Windows 7.
Please try the new spacedesk Viewer for Windows from the Microsoft Store.
There you should be able to define any custom resolution up to the native resolution.
Are both PC and smartphone device connected on the same LAN (local area network)? Maybe a third-party firewall software installed? Or VPN active? Please also check chapter “Troubleshooting – Network Connection” in the instruction manual https://spacedesk.net/user-manual/
The application did not exit. Connection over the network is successful. It is currently showing a black screen (“Display Off). This can have two reasons:
1. Is the additional display detached from Windows Desktop? Please check Windows Display Control Panel. If detached, then it can be attached for mirroring the existing display or extending the desktop by this additional display.
2. Possibly an error has occured. Maybe an incompatible product (e.g. splashtop WiredX Display) is installed?
Please also check chapter “Troubleshooting” in the instruction manual https://spacedesk.net/user-manual/
Such “mouse cage” functionality is not supported by spacedesk. There are various 3rd party utilities to do this. Just google for something like “mouse cursor lock software for Windows 10”. Please let us know which one of these tools works best for you. Other users are ocasionally asking similar questions.
I’d like to use a Surface Studio 2 as a second monitor from time to time but the highest resolution I can see from settings is:
4096 x 2160
Is there anyway to support the 4500×3000 resolution?
Also, where does spacedesk save the configuration? Is there any way to edit the configuration file with a text editor?
Thanks,
Ali
Hi @bbkrista,
Based on spacedeskDiag.txt that you’ve sent, our diagnostics collection already created the 2021-11-20-172957-spacedeskRuntimeDiagnostics folder in C:\Users\Administration\Downloads\.
Please send us this 2021-11-20-172957-spacedeskRuntimeDiagnostics folder (zipped) to further analyze the issue.
Hi,
I had been trying to connect my Ipad onto my pc, But Ipad shows connected-display off. I uninstalled splashtop alr and restart my pc several times but its not working. The spacedesk driver and ios driver are all in the latest version.
I went to look for previous blogs and checked the device manager and saw that error code 43 is on the Spacedesk Graphic display.
I have runned diagnosis according to the spacedesk Console and will attached file below.
Look forward to hear your reply.

Running Windows 10? Then the problem is usually caused by splashtop Wired XDisplay.
Uninstalling it will fix the problem.
spacedesk mouse can always be stuck due to network dropouts (better network connection -> less dropouts).
In addition to this, there are situations when after being stuck first, the remoted mouse is still trailing.
The reason: spacedesk mouse remoting network protocol is still lacking flow control.
Fix is not expected any time soon (development is currently busy with higher prioritized issues and topics).
Thus the only quick fix: Improve network performance and eliminate router. Routers always cause lags and hangs. Performance always improves when routers are circiumvented (either by connecting through WiFi-Hotspot or direct cable connection).
Do you have McAfee antivirus software installed on the Windows machine? McAffee antivirus sometimes randomly disconnects spacedesk without any notification.
from what I understand it’s running Android and you can install apks to it.
I found this video helpful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKXJ8PYkdf4
Seems they use Google Chrome as well on that device.
So you could try the spacedesk app via installing its apk and/or get a browser and try to connect via HTML.
Would like to know what worked for you if so.
I would like to know if spacedesk is compatible with mirroring to Realwear Headsets (HMT-1)
I believe that it’s what is preventing spacedesk on the tablet seeing the spacedesk client on the laptop. It just ‘doesn’t work’.
Just to be on the safe side. The android device (client app) should see the “server” (WIN10 driver software) not the client software. I guess you installed it correctly since Wifi is working.
In this post I mentioned my setup and connection process for USB tethering.
If you allowed the installer to adjust the firewall and add spacedesk, it should work.

Press the 3 dots in the upper right corner > Input devices > enable/disable as you need.
Ah – that’s good, thanks for pointing me at that.
Question:
The USB tethering can not be setup as “private” network. Please help me understand why that is important since you are using a cable between the 2 devices. What is the concern?
I believe that it’s what is preventing spacedesk on the tablet seeing the spacedesk client on the laptop. It just ‘doesn’t work’.
In Win10 networking it appears that the ‘public’/’private’ settings on networks allow differing things to pass through the connection. (I can only comment on what I’ve found and experienced, I’m NOT a network person at all).
About mouse speed, maybe change/reduce the client setting for “Quality / performance” a bit to see if that performs better.
Also you could use your Win10 hotspot functionality to have the shortest possible connection between devices to not have to go through the Access point which could be a limitation.
I’m already at 30fps and approx 60% for image quality.
Will try the hotspot idea.

Environment:
PC: Dell Laptop using Windows 10 Pro v21H1
Tablet: Sony Xperia Z4 (SGP771), Android 7.1.1 (highest available for hardware)
Connection:
WiFi
(USB tether is not reliable due to Windows10 inability to assign tethered network connection as private network, despite best efforts)
Drivers:
Latest drivers downloaded from spacedesk.net within last week.
Android App uninstalled and reinstalled on tablet within last week.
Issues:
1) Regular disconnection issues, more than once an hour.
2) Mouse speed on 2nd monitor is far slower than on main monitor, and thus unreliable.
3) Touchscreen unreliability* means that mouse control on 2nd monitor is unreliable.
* Xperia Z4 tablet does not have oleophopic screen and thus deposits on screen can affect touchscreen by causing phantom inputs.
Suggestions:
1) RE Issue 3: Include option on Android App to disable touchscreen inputs.
2) RE Issue 2: Include some means of adjusting mouse speed on 2nd monitor
3) RE Issue 1: Improve reliability of connection. This Issue did NOT exist 6 months ago.
Please advise on methods to improve reliability of connection.

Hi @leopq,
Could you please run devmgmt.msc, click View tab -> Show hidden devices and View by Connections.
Then check if you find any spacedesk devices, please right-click uninstall it, especially spacedesk virtual HID device.
If there’s any devices underneath it, please delete them first before the spacedesk virtual HID device.
If the above suggestion does not help, please go to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed-cca7d1b6-65a9-3d98-426b-e9f927e1eb4d and download the troubleshooter.
If spacedesk is not on the program list, just select “Not Listed” then paste the product code of v0989 MSI below:
spacedesk_driver_Win_10_64_v0989_BETA.msi: {5BDDEED1-A796-4811-BD50-811C680FF13B}
Hi @michael-jilg,
spacedesk does not support ARM based processor for primary machine and native viewer apps. You can only use HTML5 viewer for this platform.
spacedesk only allows one HTML5 viewer connection at a time.
Hi @raya2,
To further analyze the disconnection issue, please download the spacedesk diagnostic script here, then extract it.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/z8h5llgi8c2ig3g/2021_spacedeskDiagnosticTool.zip?dl=0
Inside you will find spacedeskDiagnosticTool.cmd, just right-click it then run as administrator.
This script will start a debug view app to capture spacedesk debug traces.
On step 5 it will prompt you to reproduce the issue (by connecting the viewer app and wait for the issue to happen), make sure to do this before pressing any key to continue.
After the script is done, a folder will be created on the same folder as the script file which contains various log files that we need for analysis.
Please right-click it -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file on your next reply.
Hello spacedesk,
Hello community,
Currently, I’m working to reuse some old surface win rt 8.1 tablets to create a video wall with around 30 to 50 devices.
Question between: Are you able to compile a version for win rt 8.1 – arm-based processor?
The workaround is to use the HTML5 version in the web browser:
A single device is working proper. But as soon I connect a second device, it fails.
Even when I use another computer (for example, win 7 x64).
In the VIDEOWALL engine, the “device” appears only with one entry: Client ID 1111122222 and witches permanent between the two connected resources (pictures attached).
The server is running on a win 10 x64 machine, and works with other android, apple and windows clients without any problem.
Is there a way to connect multiple HTML5 clients in this way?
Thanks

@raya2 you are asking for a USB connection without USB tethering from your Android.
yes, my server is windows & my client is an android device. I want to bring my windows 10 screen to my android device. (It’s an android 10 device)
ok, but you could use USB tethering from your Android WITHOUT actually tethering your Androids internet.
Internet would still be used from your Windows machine. It even works completly without an internet connection.
My setup:
– server WIN10
– client Android tablet
1. connect Android & WIN10 computer via USB
2. start USB tethering @Android device
3. In WIN10 network settings check status for the USB tetheriung adapter to get the IP address and add this IP in the spacedesk client of your Android device
Important for NOT using Androids internet connection (LTE, …)
In WIN10 you need to change the metric in the IP4 settings of your USB tethering network adapter as mentioned in that topic
So even if you are using USB tethering from your android that does not automatically mean your are using your mobile data plan if that is the concern why you don’t wanna use USB tethering.

Hello spacedesk team,
with the information from this topic about using wifi (win server) while connecting Android via its USB tethering I do not have the issue anymore. So my taskbar is hiding as expected while Android tablet is connected via USB tethering.
Can I support you any further for solving the issue while connected via wifi?
Thanks morT
@raya2 I have to ask because I don’t get your setup.
– Windows is you spacedesk server
– Android is your client, where you wanna extent/mirror your windows screen?
If so, you can use USB tethering on your Android to get connected to spacedesk server.
To not tether your internet from Android but using still your Windows machine wifi, change the IP4 settings (metric) as describe here, 2nd post.
Hi @leopq,
The v0989 installer msi has an uninstall bug, please try to uninstall the older version of spacedesk manually.
Please check the Manual Uninstall (Troubleshooting Only) steps in the user manual https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/.
Hi @yamamotoy,
spacedesk can support bigger than 4k resolution (e.g. 5120 x 2880), as long as the secondary machine has 5120 x 2880 native resolution main monitor then the spacedesk viewer can support it.
Hi @raya2,
Currently, spacedesk does not support native USB connection between Windows primary machine and Android viewer app.
But you might want to try connection via Android Debug Bridge Cable.
This connection requires you to download the Android SDK platform tools on your primary machine before you can setup an Android Debug Bridge Cable connection.
Please check Android Debug Bridge Cable chapter in the user manual https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual.
Thank you. The above has found the running driver via the SC query ddmgr command.
I have deleted it and now the spacedesk works perfectly. I’m setting the clients up and will query any further issues our encounter. Thanks again for a great application.
Hi @theonlymalu,
Please try the Manual Uninstall (Troubleshooting Only) steps in our user manual https://forum.spacedesk.netuser-manual/.
I heard that using Wifi for a long time, could gives u a headache, So I prefer using USB over Wifi.
So I’m asking to support USB connection between Spacedesk (Windows version) & and an android device. (& I don’t have an-always-on internet on my windows to share with my android device (tethering)), so tethering is out of my options.
I tried some other paid apps (similar to Spacedesk) that can do this USB connection without tethering & smoothly. So it means that it is possible for USB to work without tethering; But they r not free & also they are not as powerful as Spacedesk.
So please add support for USB (without tethering) in Spacedesk. Thank u.
Could you upgrade space desk to support resolution over 4K. I want to connect to PC using 5120 x 2880.
TENGO UNA IMAC RETINA Y UN MACBOOK PRO RETINA, Y NECESITO OCUPAR EL MACBOOK COMO SEGUNDA PANTALLA O PANTALLA EXTENDIDA, COMO PUEDO HACERLO?
Hello guys,
First, sorry for my bad language using :P.
Ive recently tried to install and run Spacedesk again. Last time ive got it installed about 5 months ago without remembering. So i installed it again but this time its stuck everytime at about 40% of the installing process. Closing the installing window or even cancelling it didnt work. Either restarting the PC or closing the installer with the Taskmanager can stop the installation process and close the installer. Using the “UNINSTALL spacedesk” programm in the installation folder wont uninstall the programm. If anybody need some screenshots or anything, contact me via Email or adding me on discord or somthing (Email: marvin.engel@mein.gmx , Discord:TheOnlyMalu#9166)
I hope anyone can help me
Sincerely TheOnlyMalu
Hi @doubleuedoubles,
Are you using the spacedesk Windows viewer from Microsoft Store?
You can click the “Hide Statistic” when you hover a mouse cursor at the top portion of the viewer app screen.
If you are using the spacedesk Windows Viewer for Windows 7 (desktop version), you can click the View tab -> uncheck the Status bar.
Please check the screenshots for assistance.

Hi @Rusmorr,
Thanks for sending your diagnostic logs.
The spacedesk has detected an incompatible software (splashtop/Duet Display/Fresco Logic) installed on your machine.
If you’re having difficulties removing the incompatible software (Fresco Logic), please try to run the Command Prompt as administrator then type the commands below then reboot your primary machine and try again with spacedesk.
sc stop FLxHCIv
sc delete FLxHCIv
Hi @jan683,
This is not possible at the moment.
The current design of spacedesk is to initiate the connection from the Viewer/Client side.
Hi @temprax,
If you have any of these software installed on your primary machine, please uninstall it then reboot before trying again with spacedesk.
For assistance, please check Incompatible Display Hook Driver Detected chapter in our user manual

Hello Lea,
I just tried the “spacedesk_driver_Win_10_64_v1018_BETA.msi” and again no change.
The moment I reach for the taskbar it stays open and does not autohide anymore.
Don’t know if it is important but I have my taskbar as 2 rows on top not on the bottom.
Please find attached the requested output from dxdiag.
Thanks for looking into this.

Thanks for the reply. I tried it with Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Zoom.
I found out that, when projecting via my phone using Spacedesk on USB while on HDR:
1. Chrome and Edge will CRASH with any window shared via Zoom, Google Meet, and Messenger. So it is not exclusive with Powerpoint. All windows shared will cause the crash, including File Explorer.
2. Zoom will also CRASH when sharing any window.
3. On Firefox, it WILL NOT crash, regardless what window/program was shared.
I hope this helps.
Hi @tobik59141,
This is probably a network adapter priority of your machine.
Could you please try the following:
– Run ncpa.cpl to open the Network Connection window
– In there you will see the WiFi adapter, right-click -> Properties, click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) -> Properties -> Advanced
– Uncheck the “Automatic metric” and set the value to any value(e.g. 3), then click OK to finish it.
Then do the same thing with your USB tethering network adapter (Remote NDIS adapter) and make sure it has higher metric value (e.g. 7).
– Then try again with spacedesk and check your WiFi connection.
Looking forward to your feedback.
Hi @nghia,
Did you notice any error notification on primary machine?
Do you maybe have splashtop software installed on your primary machine?
If yes, just uninstall the “Virtual Display driver” on Splashtop Wired XDisplay Agent window -> Advanced option.
For assistance, please also check troubleshooting chapters in our user manual https://spacedesk.net/user-manual.
Hi @lenze30,
Please update your spacedesk Driver to latest version 1.0.18 from our website https://forum.spacedesk.net.

Thanks Lea, you provide a stellar support here and I appreciate the responsiveness greatly!
Before I uninstalled Spacedesk (temporary I presume!) I hooked it up once again yesterday with no issues. Used it for a few hours, avoiding the Apple pencil 2 input method and just used is as a third monitor which is fine by itself.
I thought it could be nice for you to have a dxdiag full information file with this “virtual display” connected, see attached file. You don’t need to delete this as it contains no potentially sensitive information as far as I understand, could be good for reference to others to see if they experience similar issues.

It is a remarkable feat I must say, to be able to hook up an iPad Pro as client to a W10 machine using pen input on the iPad – over wifi involving a router no less! Of course a few ms of latency is expected but not very problematic, I was more surprised that it worked at all (until the host machine crashed).
Best of luck with this great software!
