    There are some posts more than 2 years ago complaining that spacedesk Viewer won’t connect to the server running on the same computer (localhost). Despite OP’s various legitimate reason, the answers were always that spacedesk client won’t support connection to localhost and HTML5 viewer is the only way.

    Will this functionality never be implemented? My reason to use this functionality is to create a virtual monitor when my laptop lid is closed so that start menus and some apps can render properly in remote session (I use Google Chrome Remote Desktop). Although using HTML5 viewer is viable, it would be very cumbersome to automate the activation and hide the session at background. This app seems very promising to be used as a dummy virtual monitor driver, and it’s such a pity that it can’t just because this functionality lacks.

    1. I used Regedit and found the spacedeskDisplayUmode key where it belongs.

    2. There are no crash files in \Temp. As far as I can tell, spacedesk haven’t crashed at all.

    Could you please try to update your Intel(R) UHD Graphics 600 graphics driver from their website.
    Or via Intel Support Assistant

    If the issue still persist after GPU update, please download the spacedesk diagnostic script here, then extract it.

    Next:
    1. Could you please run „regedit“ then navigate to: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WUDF\Services
    then check if you can find „spacedeskDisplayUmode“ key.
    If you cannot find it could you please add it, just right-click the Services -> New -> Key then type „spacedeskDisplayUmode“.

    2. Please also send us these app crash dump file/s if it’s available:
    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Temp\WER3C31.tmp.dmp
    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Temp\WERFDFD.tmp.dmp
    Note: ProgramData folder is hidden by default, if you cannot find it in C:\ directory, just click the View tab of the File explorer, then check the „Hidden items“ check box.

    Could you please run devmgmt.msc then check on device manager if spacedesk Graphics Adapter (underneath Display adapters) has error or disabled?
    Maybe send a screenshot of the spacedesk Graphics Adapter in device manager.

    The graphics hardware is an intel UHD Graphics 600

    Secondary machine 1: Linux over ethernet
    Secondary machine 2: Android over wifi

    Hi @martinnitro,
    Are both primary and secondary machine connected on the same local area network?
    Can you try to ping the IP address of primary machine from your secondary machine (and vice versa) to check if both machines are reachable to each other.
    Just run Command Prompt then type the command: ping 192.168.x.x
    then check if it will receive a reply from the other machine

    By the way, can you also tell us the current network connection type on both machine (wired/wireless/USB tethering/WiFi Direct)?

    Hi @cant94,
    Using spacedesk Windows Viewer from Microsoft Store, you cannot select a custom resolution bigger than the machine’s native resolution.
    However, using the desktop version of spacedesk Windows Viewer (v0.9.30 for Windows 7) downloadable from website, you can set a custom resolution up to 4096×2160.
    Please keep in mind that when using the desktop version of the viewer app, some features are not updated anymore compared to features in Microsoft Store version.

    So, I have no idea so far, but it seems like some of 3d games doesn’t work with spacedesk…
    I mean like some of those games are running fine and other not :s
    Killing Floor 2 (TRIPWARE INTERACTIVE) ok
    The Secret World Legends (FUNCOM) ok
    Resident Evil 2 Remake (CAPCOM) ok
    Play Club (Illusion) ok
    Chronicles of Valkiria (SEGA) partly
    the game exe ok, the launcher nok

    The Witcher 3 (CD Project RED) nok
    Left 4 Dead (Valve) nok

    Anybody have got an ideas how to fix rest of games?
    PS: So those nok games giving an error, like they do not recognizing the display, the driver, or smartphone some thing similar to this… Another time games are working, but still spacedesk not receiving every frame, so it around 1 frame for 5-10 seconds, very slow, mostly freezes. Usually freaks cpu, and my machine automatically rebooting itself.

    I have updated my graphics driver and WLAN driver, either on my laptop (Lenovo laptop with AMD graphics) or on my Surface GO2 (Intel UHD 615 graphics). However the problem remains…

    By the way, I found wired connection is OK.(。_。) (through network cable, but not usb cable)

    Thank you for the response.

    I will be updating this post once I have the results of the newer version of Winlock pro and that way you can have the information in your database. The update will be within 2-4 weeks because it takes time to be sure and accurate.

    I have had Winlock for over one year and it did cause some issues with the older versions of the Spacedesk server. So I am not sure why it started happening more frequently with the more recent updates. It could be related to a recent Windows update that changed something in Windows explorer.

    The current Winlock Pro version is 6.22 released in 2014.

    The new one I will be testing with is version 8.47, released in 2021

    Hello Support-Team,
    I already searched the toubleshooting page but could not find something similar.

    The connection between Primary (PC) and Secondary (IOS) works fine, but without working display. I found an error code 31 in device Manager which seems to cause the problem.

    Here is a list of things I already checked:

    – Win10 and GPU-Driver(RTX 2070) are latest versions
    – Restarted Primary in device-manager and reinstalled spacedesk
    – Tested on second IOS, same result
    – No splashtop, duet, vpn or similar installed
    – Firewalls do not block Spacedesk

    Hope you have an idea what causes the problem. If you need anything else, pls let me know.

    Yes, I am using the latest version – v1.0.42

    Understood that this issue is not common. Let me just use the guided access for now as a workaround.

    I’m not sure. This minor issue seems difficult to troubleshoot on our side if we cannot reproduce it.
    This is the scenario where the viewer is not failing in any type of functionality, it’s just not auto-hiding the home bar.
    Since it’s only happening on your device (no other users so far is reporting this issue), maybe the cause of the issue is only somewhere in the settings of your device.

    By the way, what is the current version of spacedesk iOS viewer app on your device? Is it the latest version 1.0.42?

    Hi somnus7,
    I’m not sure if enabling the iOS device’s Settings -> Privacy -> Analytics & Improvements -> “Share With App Developers” will help.
    We only tell our user to enable this for application crash issue so our developer can receive the app logs.

    By the way, what is the current version of spacedesk iOS viewer app on your device? Is it the latest version 1.0.42?

    Thanks for the feedback.

    Currently the only option to improve performance is by eliminating the router.
    If your Android tablet supports USB tethering, you can also try that with spacedesk.

    If it did not help, then you’ll probably have to wait for our next performance improvement feature.
    spacedesk will offer h264 hardware encoding very soon.

    The resolution set is 1024×768, which is extremely zoomed in and does not look very nice. However, when I go to change the resolution, the box is grayed out and will not let me click on it. Is there any way to fix this issue?

    I purchased a new computer in August 2020, and until about a week ago I had no issue with the computer going idle after 15 minutes of being AFK; the monitors dimmed and turned off, my Razer keyboard and mouse turned off their RGB lighting, and all was well. Now, though, none of that happens anymore and I cannot figure out why.

    Please try the Install/Uninstall troubleshooter program from the Microsoft Fix article *just click the link*.
    Once you are in the Microsoft Fix article, just click the „Download troubleshooter“ button, and it will download the MicrosoftProgram_Install_and_Uninstall.meta.diagcab, run it and select „Uninstalling“, if spacedesk is not on the program list, just select “Not Listed” then paste the product code of current spacedesk version below.

    Hello, I have an iPad 2017 full updated and when I tap on my automatically found PC IP address to connect, it shows this text: „Connected, display off“ or somethings like this. At the same time as I do that, my PC does the unplug sound every „n“ seconds and all the times it does that my resolution change or my monitor shut down. I don’t support Miracast cause I don’t have Wireless module, so I’m obviously trying to connect them with my iPad connected to the USB port.

    I think that I found the conflicting software. The software is called Winlock professional. It is a paid security program. You can find it in the below link.

    It does not hang every single time. It would either do so each time or once every 2-3 times.

    Winlock professional conflicts with Internet Explorer but it does not hang the Explorer.exe.

    Maybe a newer version would not conflict with it but I just have an old version and an upgrade is not free.

    Space desk connects normally when I disable the Winlock. Which is a workaround.

    Please let me know if you need more information.

    Will it always be free or is that just during the Beta testing phase?

    For further analysis, could you please send us the dxdiag of your Windows 8.1 machine?
    Just run dxdiag.exe on your primary machine, click „Save all information“ and send us the output file.

    – use v1.0.7 installer available here to uninstall the current version on your machine
    – try the Troubleshooting Uninstall – Step 2:Try Microsoft Fix chapter in our user manual
    If problem still persist, please send us the following for further analysis:
    – run dxdiag.exe on your primary machine, click „Save all information“ and send us the output file
    – spacedeskSetup.log file located in C:\Users\Public
    – setupapi.dev.log file located in C:\Windows\INF

    secondary machine: surface go 2 ; v0.0.23.0; win 10 20H2

    Unable to connect to server wirelessly. However my Android phone can connect server.

    I think it is the bug of the app on my secondary machine…

    I have been using and updating Spacedesk for about 2 years so far.

    I am using it between Windows 8.1 and Android Lollipop.

    It was more stable a while ago at around version 0.9.44 .

    The current issue now is that as soon as I connect the Windows explorer hangs and I need to restart the explorer.exe and sometimes it would keep on hanging until I stop the Spacedesk service and starting it again.

    This issue showed up in the past 2 updates. I am not sure if this issue started after I did a Windows update or just from the latest Spacedesk updates. I do have over 50 programs running in the background as well but even with it, it was always more stable than it has been lately.

    Spacedesk has been at Beta for a several years since it started. I assume that is because it is not easy to get it to be 100% stable. Will it always be free or is that just during the Beta testing phase? (All other similar products are not free).

    Let me know if you need more information. I will most probably be downgrading it back to an older version by the end of this week.

    The Graphics card is Intel.

    Spacedesk an amazing program, just needs to be more stable.

    The second screen connects properly and the mouse input also works, but not the touch, neither the pen. However, the spacedesk Driver window in the primary machine (Win 10) shows „No remote connection“, and nothing happens when I try to change the „Settings“ to, for instance, OFF. I receive a popup message „Dou you really want to disable…“, I choose „Yes“, but nothing changes. The tablet is connected through wi-fi hotspot, and everything is updated (NVIDIA driver 471.41)
    NoPenNoTouch.

    1. Yes, current BETA version is free and has touchscreen support.
    Once we release a Pro version, the free version will only support touchpad / relative touch feature as stated in our website.

    2. Pro version purchase will be a one time payment only.

    Why your NVIDIA driver is not Compatible with your version of Windows? This lies squarely between the drivers and your Windows OS. One reason for this problem is that you might be trying to official website install a 32-bit driver on a 64-bit operating system, or a 64-bit driver on a 32-bit operating system.

    Hello, dear developer;)

    I’m a user from China. I found a problem when using it
    Environment: win10 (main display, spacedesk version 1.0.7), Android (secondary display, spacedesk version 0.9.55)
    There was no problem with NVIDIA driver version 27.21.14.6647, but after I upgraded to version 27.21.14.7141, I could only cast the screen on Android instead of clicking the mouse on the control installation. I don’t know if it doesn’t support the latest version of driver. I can only return NVIDIA driver version 27.21.14.6647 (solved the problem)
    PS: when will the official version come out? expect

    Good day, I ran into such a problem, when I connect a second monitor (laptop) and throw something on it, then with a time of literally 5-10 seconds the picture will freeze, in a second 2-3, and so every 20-30 seconds. Before reinstalling windows, everything was fine, I don’t know what to do.

    Please make sure that you have an updated graphics adapters – Intel HD Graphics 3000, NVIDIA NVS 4200M.
    For further analysis, could you please send the following:
    – run dxdiag.exe on your primary machine, click „Save All Information“, save the output file (dxdiag.txt)
    – most recent dump file (*.dmp) of your BSOD with spacedesk which is located in C:\Windows\minidump folder.

    Please save all requested files in one folder, then right-click -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file on your next reply.

    In order for our developer to receive it, please go to your iOS device’s Settings -> Privacy -> Analytics & Improvements, then enable the „Share With App Developers“, then try to reproduce again the spacedesk viewer crash.

    Sorry, apparently the issue is not the os version but something else. I receive errors 2503 and 2502 on my laptop. On my desktop I installed it successfully

    Only two known reasons for BSOD crash on Windows 10:
    1.) NVIDIA graphics? Previous NVIDIA drivers were faulty. Update to 461.09 (dated1.7. 2021) or above.
    2.) USB Tethering? Some USB cable drivers crash. Update or don’t use USB Tethering.

    I have a HP ProBook 4440s Laptop with an intel core i5 3210M 2.50ghz

    I use spacedesk for like 15 minutes and i get a BSOD (Blue screen of death), I don’t know what’s the reason of this error.

    Primary device: Windows 10 20H2

    – Primary machine operating system: Windows 10 20H2
    – Secondary machine operating system: Android 11
    – Primary machines’s Graphics adapter: Intel HD Graphics 4000
    – Network connection type: USB tethering

    I just did a fresh format of my computer and reinstalled Windows 10 x64 Pro version 1803 10.0.17134.320 (the very latest one).

    Yes, it’s the x64 Windows 10 one. Any ideas? I also tried the previous two driver versions and got the same error message. Doing a google search this seems to be a common problem. Why can’t Nvidia get their drivers straight?

    Hi red2021,
    Could you please try to disable the 10-bit Pixel Format in the AMD Radeon Software settings?
    Just open the Radeon Software window, click the Settings icon on the top right side, then „Graphics“ -> „Advanced“ -> disable the „10-bit Pixel Format“ then reboot your primary machine to apply the changes.
