    Hello, First off, I’d like to thank you for your community contribution. And if the least I can contribute is to reveal needed refinements in spacedesk, it’s a pleasure. I installed spacedesk to assist in the completion of a project involving Open Broadcaster Software and OpenLP, open source streaming and worship presentation software respectively. Anyway, I’m using spacedesk to provide a second monitor for OLP(OpenLP). I’ve created an OLP theme with a transparent background and a lower third display for lyrics. OLP starts and displays OLP’s presentation screen on the spacedesk second monitor, which is a Samsung Galaxy Tab A running Android v1.1. When activating a live presentation with this transparent background, the lyrics overly OLP’s placeholding startup screen on the second monitor. Feel free to ask for additional details.

    finally I found the problem was on the router2(IP:192.168.2.10) which is running a openwrt firmware.
    After I remove this openwrt router out of the network spacedesk works fine.
    maybe some openwrt feature is blocking some spacedesk traffic?

    Can you tell us which spacedesk Windows Viewer did you use?
    Is it the Windows 10 Viewer app (from Microsoft Store)?
    Or is it the Windows 7 Viewer app (Desktop Version 0.9.37)?

    Could you please send us the screenshots of the following:

    1. Run devmgmt.msc to open the Device Manager and take a screenshot of it.
    2. Run regedit, then go to this path: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Wisp\Pen\Digimon
    then take a screenshot of the registry values.

    Hi. when I try to connect through computer 1 to computer 2, I get the message „connected, display off“. the connection is established. when connected through my phone, everything works fine, it can be seen in the logs. At first I connected via phone to the computer, after 30 seconds it turned off. then, I tried to connect via computer2 to computer 1, it says „connected – display off“. I have attached the logs. thanks in advance.

    Thank you for your reply. Have you tried updating your server to the latest version (1.0.40)? If you haven’t, please try updating then see if you still encounter the issue. If the issue is still there after updating, please send us the diagnostic logs of your server machine by following these steps:
    – open the spacedesk Console window app by clicking the spacedesk tray icon on your task bar’s notification area
    – click the Diagnostics on the left side panel
    – if Debug View is not available, please click the download button first
    – switch Diagnostic Collection ON
    – connect a viewer to the server to recreate the issue, then switch Diagnostic Collection OFF
    – click Save All Information button
    Saving all information will take a few seconds, then please send us the whole folder which contains all the diagnostic logs collected.
    Please right-click the folder -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file on your next reply.

    For further analysis, could you please send us the error traces of the spacedesk Windows 10 Viewer upon app crash.
    Please follow the steps below:
    – download the DebugView app here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/debugview
    – extract the DebugView.zip and run the DbgView.exe as „Administrator“
    – make sure to check the Capture -> Capture Win32
    – open the spacedesk Windows 10 Viewer app then try to connect and wait for the crash to happen
    – there should be some „SA [xxxx:xxxx]…“ traces printed in the DebugView screen, save it and send it to us

    Please also monitor the CPU, Memory and Network usage (if it’s high or low) in the task manager right before the crash, then let us know your observation.

    after updating my main machine (windows 10) coming from spacedesk server 1.0.39 updating to latest 1.0.40 i notice frequent crashes of my spacedesk client (windows 10, spacedesk client 0.0.23.0 installed from ms store). this mainly happens when the main machine is locked for a while or in the moment the machine gets unlocked.

    Thank you very much for sending the diagnostic logs.

    However, the spacedesk traces in the DebugView.log file were inconclusive.
    It did not capture the error traces during connection error.
    Could you please try to get a new DebugView traces while reproducing the issue?

    – open spacedesk Driver Console -> Diagnostics
    – make sure that Debug View is available
    – switch Diagnostic Collection ON (make sure to click Yes in the User Account Control box to proceed)
    – try to connect your viewer app and wait for the issue to happen
    – switch Diagnostic Collection OFF
    – click Save All Information button

    So I started having this issue after the recent update. The longest I have gone is about 10 min before the server drops the connection. Usually drops after 4-5 min. Its a stable LAN cable with no internet issues. Checked the unsupported software and its not installed. Tried having auto reconnect on. Both the server and client are up to date. Didn’t have any issues before hand. Attached the log info here.

    Of course, on a PC with Windows 11 version of Windows Server. My Android device has a resolution (if I remember correctly) of 800×600 and 60Hz.

    Could you please quickly try the most recent spacedesk Driver v1.0.40 on our website https://forum.spacedesk.net.
    If you still have the same issue, could you please go to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\WDF, then send us the last 3-4 WudfHost_ext__xxx.dmp files.

    Note: ProgramData folder is hidden by default, if you cannot find it in C:\ directory, just click the View tab in the File explorer, then check the “Hidden items” check box.

    Please save all the files in one folder again, then right-click the folder -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, then attach the *.zip file in your next reply.

    Thanks for the feedback.
    We have analyzed the DebugView you sent and able to reproduce the black screen issue on our side.

    This issue was caused by the current screen resolution pitch limitation in the current Windows 10 (Microsoft Store) version, Android (Google Playstore) version and iOS (Apple App store) version.
    This limitation will be removed soon.
    But for now, you can use the Windows 7 (Desktop version) Viewer and it should work with your 5120×2880 client screen resolution.
    Or you can still continue to use the Windows 10 version of the Viewer app and just make sure that the client resolution width will not exceed 4096.

    Is it 5-10 seconds? Or minutes?
    Can you specify which one is crashing on your primary machine side? Is it the spacedesk Driver Console window? Or the spacedeskService (verified via services.msc)?

    When Windows 10 is used in portrait mode, the tablet connected screen cannot rotate in portrait mode.
    So, I need a fixed portrait mode. For example, 90 rotations

    I ran MicrosoftProgram_Install_and_Uninstall but could not remove the old driver.
    I checked and found that three drivers were still in the FileRepository folder of the DriverStore in System32.
    After deleting them, I was able to successfully install the latest Ver. 1.0.40.

    Hi, I have a problem that when I connect any device to SpaceDesk on my PC, the screen that is connected stays black even though it does not write Connected display off. But the sound is transmitted but the screen does not. I have Windows 11 and SpaceDesk updated to the latest supported version.
    Any advice?

    Hi @ange_laco,

    Thanks for sending the requested logs.

    It seems that uninstalling the old spacedesk HID driver is hanging.
    This is a known issue in our older version, as a work around, please try to manually uninstall the old spacedesk Driver version on your primary machine before installing the latest version

    Based on the logs, it seems that you have a previous spacedesk Driver (v1014) installed on your machine.
    Could you please try to uninstall it first via Microsoft Troubleshooter program which you can download here:

    Run the “MicrosoftProgram_Install_and_Uninstall.meta.diagcab”, select Uninstalling.
    If “spacedesk Windows DRIVER” is not on the program list, just select “Not Listed” then paste the product code of spacedesk_driver_Win_10_64_v1014_BETA.msi here: {8C330294-7E17-42D6-B17F-1D875427F066}

    After that, please reboot your primary machine then try again to install the latest spacedesk msi installer from the website.

    When I run spacedesk_driver_Win_10_64_v1039_BETA, my computer crashes completely halfway along the installation. The driver control panel is there but the drivers are not present in the device manager.

    I’ve tried all of those and it’s still not saving anything. The only thing it does it populate the diagnostic box below the buttons. I’ve tried multiple locations, desktop, my documents and it makes no difference.

    Thanks for sending the DebugView.log file we are currently analyzing it.
    However, may we also request the other diagnostic logs collected to further analyze the issue.
    Upon clicking the „Save All Information“ button, all diagnostic logs should be collected in the selected destination folder.

    By the way which spacedesk Windows Viewer did you use? Windows 7 (desktop) version or Windows 10 Microsoft Store version?

    I hope someone can help please

    Up untill 15 mins ago i had all three of my monitors working 2 connected via HDMI and spacedesk connecting the third something has now changed as when I connect spacedesk it kicks out one of my direct connected monitors. I really have no idea what changed

    I have a intel grahpics 4000 card which does support three monitors as long as one (as it was) is wireless ETC

    Again this was all good just 15 mins ago

    Hi @astrosert,
    Can you check on your Windows 10 tablet settings if auto-rotation is enabled? If yes, please disable it.
    spacedesk Windows Viewer currently does not support auto-rotation yet.

    If rotation is still wrong, please open the display settings window on your primary machine (PC) then try to set the correct display rotation/orientation manually.

    Hi @tsp12,

    USB tethering connection is applicable if your secondary machine is Android or iOS device.
    Based on your statement, you have laptop and PC so I assume you have Windows as secondary machine.
    Therefore, you can try Ethernet crossover cable connection between your windows machines.

    Hello! sorry for taking months for replying I got so annoyed by this issue that I uninstalled spacedesk entirely x’3

    my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite (SM-T110) runs android 4.2.2

    and I couldn’t record the issue because I coudln’t find any app for reording screen on my android tablet. I can try pointing a camera to it and recording in that way… Actually i’m go do that and post a video to Youtube and I will post the list here when I do it…

    Its a fairly easy thing to do, some android devices has USB Tethering thing that shares the device’s internet via USB, you just have to enable the USB Tethering and connect to your computer and it works. For old devices like the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite (SM-T110) you have to download an app to open the usb tethering options (because its hidden feature or idk, it just doesn’t show on settings app)

    Thank you so much for the work, the apps it’s been very helpfull. For my experiences with spacedesk, i have some questions i’d like to know, and pardon me of my weird question because i am not a tech person.

    1. i am using my android tablet as my pc’s extended monitor, and mainly using USB Tethering for better performance. If i may ask, if i’m using a better usb cable (3.1 type c or thunderbolt), would it give a better transfer data and performance (fps, delay, etc)? my android has UFS 3.2 and my PC also has a type c 3.1 port too

    2. i’ve been looking at my ethernet network and its connection name is changing, from the first time i connect my android tab with USB Tethering, it says Network 1, but now its name is Network 18, it will always be updating as a new network. Can i reset this, or is there a feature or should it be a system thing to make it keeps the specific name?

    3. USB Tethering has speed cap in 425 MB, which is still ok, but i see that spacedesk is having a big update in 2022 Q4, especially there will be some kind of Pro version. Will it provide even better feature for better performance, low delay and latency etc?

    4. That might be related to our devices too, so i have device that support 3.1 usb type C, which can transfer data up to 10gbps, is it possible that using that as a type of transfer data, work like USB Tethering for a screen extending/mirroring feature? especially for devices that has not support MHL/DisplayPort, if not then,

    5. Can the USB Tethering speed increased based on the usb type’s and it’s maximal performance on transfering data of 10Gbps?

    Yes, exactly same.
    I was trying so much, and finally I came to the conclusion that it is not possible to install the software on ARM.
    This is very sad, and I hope that someone will try to help people in our situation.

    This program is very great, and I already tried it on another computer just for curiosity, and it is such a great software!
    Please, add Windows 10/11 on ARM support…

    I have the same case with the same issue.

    I tried to use my iMAC 27″ (2017) with a Radeon Pro 570 4096 MB as a secondary screen for my windows Laptop. Therefore I installed Windows 10 (via bootcamp) on my iMAC and did everything like Schneider97.

    I also have an established connection and can take over control but the (viewer)screen remains black

    Could you please help?

    Hi,

    I’m currently running a PC with a Quadro RTX 4000 with 3x1080p projectors connected. I’d like to use my phone as a device to show a small portion of the combined 5760×1080 mosaic compound, however, it appears I cannot connect only when in a mosaic group.

    I’ve tried reinstalling/updating GPU drivers, uninstalling/disabling any conflicts such as NVIDIA Shadowplay, and I am still unable to connect in a Mosaic compound. I can connect outside of a surround/mosaic without any issues, just not whilst enabled.

    I thought perhaps sending a 5760×1080 signal might be a lot to transmit? However even when sending only a small 320×320 section of the screen, it still doesn’t connect properly.

    Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks!

    Ich habe seit längerem das Problem, dass der Ausgang meines PCs mit der Haltung meines Windows 10 Tablets gedreht wird, wenn mein Tablett quer ist, ist der Output hochkant, und umgekehrt, wie kann ich das ändern, das der Output quer ist, und mein Tablet quer ist.

    When Connect to Spacedesk Previously, I always setup to Extended Screen Mode on Windows 11, but now it always in Duplicate Screen Mode when connect, I need setting manually to Extended Screen mode on each connect.
    Please advise is it Windows Update issue?

    Using the most recent spacedesk Driver version 1.0.39, please follow the steps below:
    – open spacedesk Driver Console app and set Disconnect Delay to 0 then disable the Auto-reconnect settings in your Viewer apps
    – navigate to spacedesk Driver Console app -> Diagnostics
    – if DebugView is „Unavailable“, download it first
    – switch Diagnostic Collection ON (make sure to click Yes in the User Account Control box to proceed)
    – connect your 2 or more Viewer apps and wait for the disconnect issue to happen
    – switch Diagnostic Collection OFF
    – click „Save All Information“ button
    Then send us the updated diagnostic folder.

    So i downloaded the latest driver and connected my 2 tablets
    After a couple mins the one tablet disconnected.
    Auto reconnected after maybe 1 minute.

    I will retry and see

    Hello. I,m trying to use spacedesk app on my Poco m3 pro. Device resolution of 1080*2400.
    I’m not able to reach taskbar area while touching at very bottom of screen. Remote touches appears to be a bit higher than my physical touches: lower the touch bigger the offset. I’m attaching video demonstrating the issue. Please, note, that my real touches are also visible in the video, so you can see growing offset

    We noticed that the disconnect delay is currently set, did you also enabled the auto reconnect feature on the viewer settings? Maybe this might help.

    By the way, were all viewer apps being disconnected simultaneously?

    Yes, you can use your Windows 11 laptop as secondary machine using either Windows 10 UWP Viewer app from Microsoft Store or the Windows 7 Desktop Viewer version 0.9.37 which is downloadable from the spacedewsk website.

    I am new to using this app but I think it is a great idea.
    I have 3 tablets I am trying to connect and have them setup.
    2 Samsung TAB E and 1 Ipad

    I can extend the desktop to all 3 but they disconnect after a few minutes.

    Attached is the diagnostic file as suggested in the support forum.

    My PC is on a wired network and does not have a wireless card.

    Are you able to advise on what I could do to make the connection stable. The wifi signal I have is strong and never have any issue with disconnecting.

    My primary will be my desktop PC running Windows 10. My viewer is a laptop running windows 11. Will this work?
    The viewer download software doesn’t mention compatibility with Windows 11.
